My word, that's fantastic food! Seriously delicious food. Great portions and reasonable pricing, too. I got the ayares and beef kabob wrap to go yesterday. The meat was astonishingly tender and delicious, and the ayares had a spicy sauce that really added to the yum. I can't wait to go back and I'll bring my wife; I won't get it to-go this time; I'll sit inside and enjoy my meal like God intended. Nora's Cafe is a pleasant space in a strip mall. I was greeted immediately upon entering by a nice young lady, and she was helpful with the menu. A couple things to note: 1) Do not expect it to be fast - my two-item lunch (cooked to order) took exactly a half hour after I ordered and paid for it. 2) The menu does not appear to note that there is a credit card fee, but there is - the (very reasonable) menu prices do not include that fee, so you might be surprised when you see the items costing more on your receipt. read more

We stopped ing for a late lunch. The diner is small with only about 6 tables. Interior is nothing special but functional. We chose a tasty and flavorful Chefs Special (okra and lamb). Santa Fe Chicken (spicy chicken shawarma) was tender, good flavor and nicely spiced. The salad was really good with a hint of mint. The highlight was the baklava, served warm, sweet and absolutely delicious. If you are in the mood for Middle Eastern, it is authentic and with stop. read more

Nora's Cafe is a wonderful addition to the foothills foodie scene....flavorful and interesting food, bright and clean seating area, friendly and informative staff...this little strip mall gem deserves lots of love. We were feeling Mediterranean one day and we thought we would try this place. It is also attached to a hallah meat market(same owners). The place was clean and the decor was cozy and inviting. I was greeted by Ali(owner), and he explained that everything was made fresh and that they had only been there for a few months, but the meat market has been there for a few years. I ordered the lamb kebab wrap with french fries that were seasoned with some red colored seasoning and it was really tasty. I asked him what the special soup of the day was and he came back and told me it was the okra soup. It's about this time that a younger gentleman walked in and I was introduced to him as Adam. He was the son of Ali. He finished taking my order and asked me if I wanted meat in the soup and I said sure why not. I explained to the Adam that this was our first time coming here and he said you know what let me make you some special tea while you wait. While waiting, the dad told me that there was like 17 different ingredients in this tea.. I thought the tea was pretty good. It could've been a little sweeter for my liking, but it was still pretty darn good.. The lamb wrap was very tasty and the lamb was tender and juicy.. The side condiments were also fresh and good. I wasn't sure how I would like the okra soup but I have to say it was delicious enough to change the way I look at okra. Hummus, was very authentic and good. The food overall was very fresh and delicious. I'm very picky about Middle Eastern and I'm very happy to have found a place with good authentic flavor. I will be going back. The atmosphere is a hole in the wall but cozy... it's not fine dining if that is what you're going for, maybe take it to go. We really enjoyed our dinner at this little restaurant. We got the baba ganoush, hummus, and arayes, and they were all very good. The baba was different than I'm used to, much chunkier, but in a good way. We also had the Arabic tea and a dessert I think was kefti. Everything was lovely and the staff was friendly and helpful. Went to Nora's with a friend. I've been wanting to try this place and then saw a post on the Albuquerque foodie Facebook thread about how good it was so a friend and I decided to finally pull off the Band-Aid and go! The service was very nice and personal, and the food was quite yummy! I did not have quite the appetizer as my friend and only ordered the soup and tabouli salad and I was quite happy with both and brought home. Remainder for leftovers. My friend ordered the chicken Shawarma plate. He practically licked his plate clean. I had a bite of his chicken and it was quite yummy. Either the owner or chef stop by the table just to say hello and check on us and ask for feedback. All feedback was good. I know it's a tough time for small businesses, but this one was worth your money. Although I'm familiar with Mediterranean food, there were some Arabic foods that were new to me so we will be returning to try them. We were particularly intrigued with the call ahead dishes. First visit, we were promptly greeted and seated. menu is not extensive but has a fair number of options, Ordered some veggie samosas they were smaller flatter style than im useto. and they were drizzled with something a little sour. (i think it was pomegranate syrup. it was really interesting, gave a nice bright kick to them brought out some of the vegetable flavor. After that i had the Shawarma Chicken Protein Platter, plenty of chicken, rice was so soft and fluffy.. the hummus was delicious and so smooth, and i got the Special Salad, which is a tahini based dressing with cucumber radishes and tomatoes. i loved all of it! Also got a it of my fronds tubule salad, and delicious lamb kibedh. We finished it off with a Dubai Chocolate topped cheese cake. was also delightful. We were both a little sad there was not more Hummus but that is just comparing it to other places, where i think you often get a bit less meat. Our test at any restaurant is whether we would eat here again. And for us that was a definite yes. The hummus was the best I have ever tasted anywhere. We each had versions of the gyro (sandwich and plate). We also tried the warbat, which was so much better than our expectation, not really knowing what to expect. I have a couple of suggestions for the owner who was a lovely host. I think that whatever is on the TV needs to be may be no picture and nice middle eastern music. It seemed like it was a movie about a Muslim wedding that got a little bit racy in some parts. We also found the temperature a little bit cold. And wished we had brought sweaters. We are telling our friends about this place, so that hopefully they will get more traffic. read more

Superb cuisine from Jordan. The interior is simple. The service is attentive and courteous. It is run by a family of brothers similar to Al-Quds and La Guelgetza. The food was amazing! Their kibbeh is unique stiffed with lamb, nuts, and spices to raise it to a new level. The baba ganoush was seasoned perfectly. It had a lively texture of chopped eggplant that raised it above the usual smooth paste that is served elsewhere. Their hummus was spot on. I ordered the lamb kebab that was cooked perfectly. This was ground lamb similar to Persian koobideh but the spicing was totally different. It didn't taste at all like koobideh. It was in a special place of its own. It was served with rice, an excellent hummus and a typical Arabic salad of lettuce, cucumber, onion, and tomato as well. It was made with a fragrant olive oil that made it stand out from others I have had. My husband had a vegetarian platter of dolma, falafel, grilled cauliflower, and hummus. The falafel was light and almost airy. The dolma was warm, not plucked from a refrigerated case. He doesn't normally like cauliflower but nothing was left on the plate when he finished. Our friend ordered the gyro plate. I had a taste and this gyro tasted wonderful. She waxed on about how good it was. She lived part of her childhood in Greece and knows her gyro. It was also served with the Arabic salad, hummus, and rice like my plate. We had a cardamon tea served with milk. This is not something to be missed. I love the flavor of cardmon and this satisfied me completely. We all shared two desserts that were ideal. Small and light. They ended the meal just right. If you like Middle-Eastern food, this is not a spot to miss. The flavors are unique. The service is friendly. The portions are just right. The plates are not overloaded with food. So my wife and I wanted some good Middle Eastern food and Nora's Cafe got some good reviews. The first thing we noticed was that there were no other customers and kickboxing was on the TV. We ordered a couple of platters, but asked for tabouli in place of the salad. The platters came with wilted salad, so we mentioned that to the waiter, who promised to bring out tabouli, but who disappeared into the kitchen. After we ate our very bland meals, he finally showed up with no tabouli - then went back and gave us a bowl to go. Anyway, the service and the food need to improve. A bunch. read more

This brand new Cafe and Mediterranean food shop was a delightful surprise. The food was so delicious and I want to go back and sample everything on the menu. The baklava was he best I've had in any country. The server was very polite, giving us plenty of time to relax over tea as we chatted with other customers. I told my husband about what I'd read about Nora's Cafe and we tried it one Saturday. The sign stated they opened at 11, but guess they had a slow start. Once they opened, we were seated quickly. The hummus was the best I've had though it needed more pita. I had high hopes for the simmered lamb shank, but was sadly disappointed. It was very dry and overcooked as if it had been reheated several times. My husband had a much better dish that he enjoyed. I'm still willing to give Nora's another chance, but will definitely avoid the lamb - sad as that usually one of my favorite dishes at other restaurants. read more

We had the falafel as an appetizer, which was delicious and had just the right texture. Then, we had the lamb kebabs and the Jordanian Mansaf (weekend special) as our entrees. Everything was fresh and cooked to near perfection. If we didn't live far away, this would likely become one of our regular go-tos. read more

It's a small place with a real cozy feel, nice and clean with friendly staff. The waiter was very nice and even made recommendations that I appreciated very much. But the food. Wow.
