After a silly way of breaking the windshield, I searched for the estimated cost, and for a Subaru Outback 2021 most placed (safelite) want around $1,200... they say its due to getting cameras calibrated and OEM glass being required to make all the eyesight systems work. Most of which does not need to happen depending on the nature of your windshields damage. For a MUCH better price, They were able to get me an aftermarket replacement, that I doubt any could tell the difference over OEM. If you are in their local area they will come to you and are very quick and professional. I will certainly use them again! FAST AND FRIENDLY! I had my windshield replaced by them 7 months ago. Yesterday, rain was pouring in above the rear view mirror. So, I call them and he said that they only offer a 1 month warranty. And, the glass could break if they removed it to repair the seal. So, he wanted me to replace the glass again! I told him that I did not want to pay them again when they obviously screwed up the first time. And , I told him that I had never had this problem before. I have had a number of windshield replacements in 50 years of driving, but have never had a seal failure like this. Don't go there! You might have to pay twice to get it right. read more
