I got back three responses, but they were not all the same in quality. United Home Services sent back a very detailed and professional response. I am very impressed with the level of detail. I asked a few more questions and the company responded promptly. What is even more impressive is how the company worked with my hectic schedule, and even help me with a day and time that worked perfectly with my job. Eli was the technician that came to assist. He seemed genuinely happy to assist. He brought in all his equipment being very respectful of our home. He made small talk that was both professional and interesting. He stated that the Farmers Almanac predicts another harsh winter! A person is a TRUE professional when they read the Farmers Almanac to keep up-to-date on things that affect their job! Eli sweep our chimney from inside, taking care to protect and keep debris from entering the living area. He went on top of the house and took pictures of the chimney, explaining what it should look like, and even showed examples. Our tar sealant was eroded and I thought that it would be another appointment. Eli just smiled and said, no Ma'am, I'm gonna take care of that for you today! I am beyond happy with the quality of service from the inquiry response to Eli our tech. Thank you Eli, you were fast, efficient, and knowledgeable. We had scheduled to have them come out last week but something came up on the company's in where they needed to come out this week. I would have much preferred a phone call letting me know what was going on (they were going to be short staffed that day) then asking me what time I was going to be home? It weirded me out. But them being the only company available right now, and my fear of how winter is going to be this year I rescheduled. Fast forward to today Eli was the one who came to service the chimney. I made sure to schedule on a day where my husband was off because of how the previous review is below. Eli came in and immediately got to work. I have lots of animals 6 cats and 1 elderly dog. so they were very curious about who Eli was and what was going on. haha Once they finished the cleaning I asked how dirty it was which it wasn't bad at all last thing he needed to do was check the chimney on the roof. Our house is older and Eli took photos of all the damage on the chimney explained that if we replaced the wood and had it fixed that we also get a 5 year warranty which to us is perfect. He emailed us the quote and the photos he took, which yeah the price is steep but we wouldn't be able to do that ourselves so I'm leaving it to the experts. That's why I reached out for clarification, as anyone would after receiving a second bill by surprise that was said to be for the same work. The repair was only completed successfully on the second visit, which is when payment should reasonably apply. The problem has since been resolved with no further issues, confirming that the first visit was not a completed job, something also acknowledged by the dispatcher. Despite repeated outreach, no one ever explained this or provided details of what was done on that second visit; I only received another invoice. After being ignored for months, I ultimately paid the second bill under threat of collections, not because the situation was ever clarified. The owner's follow-up came only after I posted this review, and even then, my questions about billing and communication were not addressed. I've been a customer for over five years and have always paid promptly once a repair was completed. My only request was transparency. It's disappointing that instead of acknowledging that, the company continues to deflect responsibility rather than address the lack of communication and customer care that led to this situation. I'm not looking to escalate this any further; I simply wanted the company to understand how this came across from a long-time customer's perspective. They fixed it fast and charged me UNDER $270!! On a Friday evvening at 7 pm. when tech arrived. That's amazing. He also figured out how to unclog the downstairs sink which drained slow. No one else could figure it out cause it's copper pipes that are an odd configuration. Another time he sold me an air conditioner for about $9,000 less than others would have charged. He said it was an older model he had. It works fantastic as the house is older. Perfect match. I'm not saying they're perfect. But I've dealt with other plumbing companies who tried to charge me $10,000 for a problem they fixed for $300. HONEST is freaking hard to find.
