A couple of Sunday nights back, I noticed that our a/c was not cooling as it should. When I got up the next morning, there was no cool air being circulated, so I knew we needed service quickly. Monday morning, my wife called Bulverde Heating and Air, which is the company we had been using for our regular service. In talking with them, they advised that they would work us in that same week. On Thursday, after several unanswered calls, my wife reached them by text. They told us we weren't on the schedule, but they would work us in the following week. By Thursday of the next week, after not hearing from them, we started calling them. No returned calls led us to texting again. After finally getting a reply, they told us we were not on the schedule, so they would put us on for the next week. Well, that would take us into week 3, and as we have been sitting in record triple degree temps the entire time, I knew it was time to find someone else. With the record heat we are having, I could not find anybody who could do the repairs quickly. I decided to look on Yelp and see if I could find any highly rated repair places. On doing that, I found the link to request bids. I did that and was surprised how quickly several companies got back with me. In going back and forth with the different companies, Sunny Time Heating and Air went to the top of my list. Sunny called me and we discussed the job. He said that they could actually come out that same day. Since he was so nice, and his company had nothing but 5 star reviews, I agreed to have him do the job. We live about 45 minutes our of town, but he came out within a couple of hours. He was very friendly, efficient, and jumped straight into his work. He was able to diagnose and repair our problem in less than 30 minutes, for a very reasonable price. He even eliminated the service call charge. The repair started working immediately. Cool air started blowing and temps started dropping in the house. It had the house cooled down in 15-20 minutes. Would I use them again? Our AC was clogged and flooded and I filed an emergency project request here on Yelp at 8pm on a Wednesday. I didn't even know that was a feature here, but I'm glad I did it. Sonny responded to the Yelp project almost immediately and after seeing his positive reviews, I picked him. He determined from pictures that it wasn't an emergency worth his night fee and was prompt to show up in the morning. He is very honest and didn't try to push a bunch of unnecessary repairs. Awful experience. We own a rental portfolio so we deal with a lot of A/C companies in different cities. Have never had one this bad. They checked out an A/C about a month ago but sent an invoice with run on sentences that didn't fully explain if what they found was actually causing the leak or not, or if it was just a recommendation. It took them weeks to get us any clarification with me following up 5 or 6 times and being told somebody would call me back. After FINALLY hearing from anybody, I scheduled the repair and they told me they could either have my card on file or call me after work was completed and get payment that way. I told them to call me. It's now Friday. I paid an employee to be at the home to receive the technician. Nobody showed. Checked my messages and all I got a single text from Liana, the person who runs the front desk, telling me I have to prepay for the appointment, and now it is too late to get the repair done before my Airbnb guests checkin. All of this could and should have been mentioned before scheduling the appointment days before. When I asked Liana why this was not mentioned previously she told me she had, but refused to explain where this was ever mentioned before, and refused to get me anybody other than her. Now their irresponsibility has hurt my business, and there is nobody who can answer for it as Lian claims nobody else works there and refuses to even apologize for the absurd situation. read more

I contacted Sunny Time on yelp for a quote to fix my AC. They responded quickly, came by and got the job done in no time. Full story: I hired another company to take a look at my busted AC and they told me the entire system was shot and I needed an entirely new unit that was going to cost $8500. Not only did that price seem incredibly high, but it seemed farfetched the entire unit was bad, so I contacted Sunny Time. They showed up on time, took a look at it, told me it was just a thermostat issue and set me up with a brand new smart thermostat and an AC blowing cold in less than 30 minutes for only $250. He also offered to just recommend some good thermostats that I could buy and install myself and he'd only charge me $50 for the trip out, but I opted to buy their thermostat (which is a great one btw). Very honest company that know what they're talking about. These guys saved the day and will be the only people I call for all my future heating & cooling needs. read more

A/C went out late Friday night. Went through Yelp to get quotes for service early Saturday morning. Sunny responded within 30 minutes. Most places wanted me to wait until Monday, but Sunny told me he could be there by 10am. After arriving, he quickly determined that the capacitor had gone bad, and had the problem fixed within 30 minutes. He was very quick, professional, and didn't try to up-sell me on products or services that I didn't need. This was the kind of fast, cheap service you hope for when your a/c goes out during the summer. Our AC started acting up on the Sunday of a Holiday weekend. They came out within 30 min and got our unit running. Joe explained everything to us while he was working on it which I really appreciated! I blew a rubber glove up into my A/C unit by accident when I was flushing the drain...dumb, I know. Sunny responded during peak season after hours on the weekend when no one else,who advertised 24/7, would answer my call or call me back. He listened and assessed that I didn't have an emergency but needed a visit quickly. I was scheduled for service first thing Monday. He took care of the problem for a reasonable price. He didn't tease me about using a bike pump to clear my AC drain, but taught me some better alternatives. He adjusted some settings as my system was running too high. A/C was not cooling on Fri. I contacted companies, Sunny had an opening for Monday morning. He was on time and went thru issues. When the 'problem' was not the a/c system, he went into the attic and found the 'problem.' Although he was not able to fix the attic (duct work) and other issue, he did not hesitate to help out if needed. Sunny did take out the current freon in the system (don't recall at what %) but it no longer made or very expensive. He filled it with the synthetic alternative. I believe helped as it took time to get the duct work problem solved. Although he was not able to fix the root of the issue, I was able figure out what to do next and save on having to worry about freon later. read more
