Came here during our short SoCal trip and the workers here were super friendly and kind. They gave us complimentary fountain drinks because we forgot to add them in our order. It was burnt and the lack of coleslaw it was just hard to swallow. Some bites were okay with actual chicken meat but some were just burnt crisp that tasted like oil. I am looking for a new local spicy fried chicken sandwich spot...this one might have potential. For my first order I got the Waffle Sandwich and fries. An order of Mac and Cheese. 2 Tenders. added 1 Al's White sauce and 1 Al's Honey sauce. Overall I think the food items are terrible. I usually take a photo before eating for Yelp, but I posted my after because the food is just not good and the majority is still there. The waffles for the waffle sandwich was too doughy. I feel like it needed to be warmed up or toasted longer. The chicken and spice level for the sandwich was good. Fries were good as well. Wish there was ketchup to accompany them. (i really don't like the sauces I paid for) There was a packet of imitation maple syrup which brought a question mark to my mind. The mac did not have cheese in it. If so, it is similar to the powder you stir to make mac and cheese at home. No cheese, just color. The tenders were good on the spicy leve. I ordered the spiciest and it works. Nice little gem I found in Roscoe Blvd. This is probably the best spicy chicken sandwich salad I've ever tried. The sauce is 10/10 and the chicken was very crispy to every bite. First thing is, the parking is super weird. It's small but what you think is a pathway, is actually a parking spot. If there weren't cars there, I would've driven right through. The lines can barely be seen on the ground and the way to get around the cars feels too tight to even get through! So very odd. We walked in and there was one customer. There was no music playing, dead silent. The cashier, I believe his name was Habib per my receipt, was super sweet and patient with us since it was our first time visiting. I wanted something small so I got a slider which is literally a mini hot chicken sandwich and perfect for me. My parents and bf got Combo #1 and everything was ordered to go. We waited a bit and walked over to an empty table. The fact that it was so quiet, you could hear everything. The cashier walked into the public restroom in the back of the restaurant and proceeded to hack and cough. It was honestly unappetizing and really gross but he had to do what he had to do I guess. Just wish there was music playing in the restaurant to kind of try to hide all that. Our food was ready and we took it home, about a 15 min drive back. Food was still fresh and incredibly delicious!! Had a bit of a kick but wasn't anything too crazy. The buns were super soft and that's how it should be! My dad really enjoyed it and we were already excited to come back for more. Came in around lunch time and was pleasantly surprised with this establishment. I ordered the lunch special in spicy, a combo 3 medium, and the loaded fries with Mac. The crunch on the chicken was spectacular. It was also seasoned well, and I appreciated that it wasn't too greasy. The fries were also fried to perfection, and not too salty or over seasoned they were just right. I was given a sampler of their sauces, which heightened the fries. The loaded fries were so yummy. The mac could use a little more cheese and flavor if I'm being honest but I wasn't mad at it either. The customer service was very attentive and food was out within 15 mins as promised. The hot is pretty strong but I'd def come back to try some of the hotter options they can get pretty daring up there. I didn't find the hot to be like, straight buffalo sauce hot or anything crazy. I'm only taking a star away because the flavor was good but not amazing, but I am willing to revisit. I tried Al's for the first time yesterday and to be honest it was alright. The sliders and tenders were tasty . I had the xtra hot and let me tell you if you can't handle hot don't even try it. They also have LAs hottest sauce which you have to sign a waiver for. The Mac and cheese and the fries and the coleslaw had absolutely no flavor. The sandwiches were alright. But what will make me come back was the service and absolute hospitality that I saw and experienced there yesterday. He came home and we tried everything until we realized we just wasted our money. $50 spent on 2 chicken tender plates, 1 waffle and 1 Mac n cheese and NONE of it was edible... the chicken was BURNT, super dry and paper thin. The fries were soggy and bland. The mac n cheese was either stale or just undercooked. The waffle was cold and artificial that when I took ONE bite hoping for something good to come out of it the I ended up chewing the sugar crystals that are in it.
