ZERO STARS! We ordered a family sized Italian cheesy beef pizza tonight for pick up. It wasn't cheap at almost $30. We have been doing business here for years and I'm talking about 15 to 20 years. Have you guys heard about Covid-19? As of today there have been 150,000 deaths in the United States alone! If you have ever been here, the dining room is tiny and I mean like 3 tables. When we went to pick up the pizza there was 1 guy at each of the tables all talking to each other, no one wearing masks! Stopped at Al's tonight for first time on drive home from the city. Ordered a 16 inch Half cheese half italian Sausage & 12 inch italian beef and hot giardiniera. Wow! is all I have to say. Pizza is as Thin as thin can be, and the sauce close to the endge just to leave a nice crunch . Beef was absolutely delicious and giardiniera wasn't overpoweringly hot or greasy. The crust is crispy and I think I've found one of my new go-to's! If only I lived closer. Definitely will be back. read more

Was in Chicago for two days. On the last day we wanted pizza so Al's was the closest with the highest star rating. We meet Al right off the top he was a very friendly person. He took our order and took good care of our taste buds with an assortment of yummy-ness. Everything was amazing the pizza, fried dough with cannoli sauce (our favorite) best ever. If you're anywhere in the 773 or close by in the 708, 630 or 847, remove all the pizza chains from your phone and order from somewhere that actually makes their pizza with a little integrity and then cuts it into squares. If you're anywhere near Al's, order this pizza. I love it. Super thin, super tasty. I'm a big fan. The calamari is also very good. I think I had the lasagna and a steak sandwich once as well. Both were very good but let's face it - Al's is all about the pizza. Like many Eye-talian establishments on the NW Side, there's a distinct vibe when you enter this place to pick up your food. A lesser man might be intimidated by the guys in the kitchen or the characters sitting at the tables but he shouldn't be. Everyone is friendly. It's just that they don't have a lot of time to listen to you go on and on about the old neighborhood. Pay for your panzarotti and go home. That being said, there also is another NW Side pizza place element here - the 16-to-20-year-old female cashier who has no tolerance for flirting, pretty-boy delivery drivers or customers who try to make small talk about "The Bachelor." Seriously. Get your food and hit the road. Unless, of course, you're eating there - then take your time. But if you don't have a dining companion, bring a newspaper or something to keep yourself occupied. No one wants to hear about your flooded basement. Just received my pizza. The roast beef was pretty much nonexistent. Other than that, not bad.

Pros: I love their kicken chicken sandwich and kicken chicken salad. I can't finish either, the portions are big. They are not in some online menus, but they are real items! Their pizza is also really good, crispy crust and good homemade sausage. I normally don't like sausage but theirs is very good. cons: they put lots of onions on salads and sandwiches also my coworker doesn't like the quality of their napkins. read more

I had carry-out Pizza. I ordered a sausage thin crust. The pizza had a good flavor. The crust was very thin, a good thing. I had a couple of problems with the pizza. One, there was some burnt leftovers on the bottom of some of the pizza. Someone didn't clean the oven. Two, there was a lot of grease on the top of the pizza. A good Chicago thin crust pizza is not covered in grease. I don't think I would try it again, since there are so many very good pizza places around Chicago. read more

Worlds "WORST" pizza!!! Ordered a Family sized sausage pizza....easy sauce. The order taker said "enjoy"....REALLY??? It was burnt and tasted like cardboard. I think they measured the sausage by the 1/4 tsp. ... Love the place. Yummy food, very friendly staff, and super cheap prices. My husband is a big fan of the eggplant parmesan sub, served with french fries that are so good that they're worth mentioning (they make 'em super crispy here). I get a panzarotti with spinach, which is kinda like a calzone with attitude. They describe it as a pizza folded in half, with cheese and sauce and whatever topping you want inside, either baked or fried (I get it baked). They have a cooler filled with RC products, both cans and 1-liter bottles. The 1-liter bottles are less than 2 bucks and are the perfect size to share between 2 people, which is another way to save a little cash. read more

I'm not the largest fan of thin crust pizza but we ordered it with a couple coupons and both times came back high quality pizza. We stayed simple and got both cheese and spinach and sausage. Though the cheese and spinach had a great flavor and was great and plentiful in ingredients I fell in love with the sausage pizza. I tend to think I'm the reincarnation of a T-Rex sometimes. The best thin crust pizza this side of town. I consider myself a pizza connoisseur growing up on the south side of Chicago (eating Italian Fiesta and Home Run Inn just about every weekend). Working in the Rosemont area, I passed by this place quite often. I'm so glad I finally went inside. The decor has a Soprano's type ambiance. I ordered a personal size thin crust with sausage, green peppers and mushrooms. The best thin crust pizza I've ever had in this area. The crust is buttery and crispy. The sausage was full of flavor. The green peppers were crisp and fresh. Mushrooms very tender. The pizza was so good, I had to meet Al. The coolest guy around. He really takes pride in making a pretty pie (his words, not mine). The food is as fresh as it gets it is made to order there is nothing frozen, and the sauce is made with only the freshest ingredients with their own family recipe. When I am back intown i usually order from their Irving park location, i introduced the thin crust from als when i was back home to my 11 year old daughter and that is the only thin pizza she asks for as soon as we land in Ohare and it is superb. I love the food here. Starting with the pizza which is the best thin and crispy pizza you will find anywhere. The sauce is awesome and the toppings are good quality and they don't skimp. The rest of the menu is much better than your average pizza joint. Again, good quality ingredients prepared nicely. Well I ordered couple of things on new year day from them using grubhub. Order was accepted and delivery estimate was 9:45pm - 9:55pm. At 10:25PM when there was no sign of food, I tried calling them as they close at 10:30PM. No body cared to pick up the phone. There is no other number to call. I cant comment on the food as it never arrived. Finally after waiting for 2.5 hours, at midnight I had cook for myself and my family, amidst anger and frustration. Never seen such heights of insensitivity and unprofessional attitude. I am extremely displeased, furious and pissed off at them. 1 star because there isn't an option to not give a star. My wife says that's a "Chicago thing"; I'm from the east coast so I'm inclined to believe her, especially since my previous orders of thin crust pizza from other places in Chicagoland were also cut in squares, but I prefer that it be cut in wedges. We ordered a large sausage and ricotta cheese pizza with mozzarella sticks. Not only did it take forever to receive the order, but the pizza was all smashed like someone dropped it, and the mozzarella sticks were cold. We called to let them know what happened and someone named Anna was completely rude and basically told us oh well. She never even said sorry about that. She said she'd send a new pizza within a half hour and an hour rolled by when my boyfriend called to ask for a manager. She said there's no manager and basically it is what it is.
