    Lobster and french fries
    Stefan S.

Wow, what a great place to go! I had never been here before, so I didn't realize that you ordered at the window before you were able to get a seat inside. We arrived early, so it was no problem to order, get inside, and sit at a table. Within about 15 minutes of us sitting down, our food arrived. My friend and I both ordered one-and-a-half-pound lobsters with French fries. I got a fountain drink, and she got a bottle of Diet Coke. It was a nice place for seafood, I wouldn't call the ambiance anything special or not but it was a good place and we enjoyed it. My friend had been there many times

Dropped in to my favorite seafood restaurant on the Seacoast, Al's Seafood Restaurant & Market in North Hampton today for some lunch, after seeing their Maine Crab roll a few days back....but I had a craving for calamari, so I got that in a plate! Amazingly good, huge portion which completely buried the fries, all for $17.99!You got to check them out!

The hubby and I decided to stop here for a late lunch. You have to order and pay for your food outside at the window then go inside. You sit down and wait for your number to be called and the waiter brings your food over to you. The food was delicious. The service was good. The prices were very reasonable. The place was basic but clean and comfortable. We will definitely be coming back.

Takeout type ordering with places to sit inside. Reasonable prices and portions. My fried clams bordered on being a bit crispy. The French fries were good. My wife said her fish was similar, a little bit on the overdone side. They do bring the food to the table and clear the table when you are finished. The staff are friendly and attentive.

The seafood was fresh here! Not the five star hot butter lobster roll I was hoping for but it was still yummy. The lobster quantity was ok. The roll was filled but I've had much more generous portions elsewhere for $25.99. Note the lobster roll comes with fries. We also ordered side orders of fried clam strips ($15.99), fried onion rings, and a kids meal of chicken tenders with fries. The clam strips were juicy and so fresh! I would give this dish five stars and would reorder any time. The inside of this restaurant is great. The set up is large, clean and easy to move around in. The outside ordering, take out area is even better and quick! I just wish there were outside benches for customers to eat at who want to enjoy the sunny weather as well.

Definitely satisfied our seafood cravings! We got the Crab Cakes and the Seafood Platter For 1. The crab cakes with the dill ranch sauce were absolutely delicious. The seafood platter for 1 was sizable and had tender pieces of seafood with crispy fries. Just wish the seafood were more crispy though. Worth the detour!

If there were a Hall of Fame for small fried seafood joints that never miss, Al's Seafood would already have a plaque, a laminated menu, and a line out the door - they already have a chalk menu, and during the summer, a wait for a table so we're almost there! This place is absurdly consistent. The portions are always generous, the quality is never caught lacking, and the dining room is spotless in that reassuring someone actually cares way. The staff (and it's always the same people that are there, which is cool in itself that there's no noticeable turnover in the staff) is friendly without being fake about it... efficient, pleasant, and clearly proud of what they're serving from fryers behind the soda fountains. Let's talk food, because wow. That's why you're reading this. The fried shrimp are so good that my wife (who does not like seafood) actively loves them. That alone should be printed on the menu. I've only known her to eat fried shrimp when the breading weighs more than the shrimp itself (which is not the case here). The tartar sauce is the best in North America. It's my crack. If I drank it through a straw (a bit too thick), that straw would be called a crack pipe. I literally smile writing about this tartar sauce. I will not be taking questions at this time. The "regular" fries are exactly what fries should be: crisp, fluffy, salty perfection. And the onion rings? Peak "fried seafood place" onion rings... golden, crunchy, and unapologetically doing their job, not tempura style, but old school Weathervane "fried seafood style" onion rings that you can sub in instead of fries on plates/boats for a small upcharge. Even the bathrooms are clean, which sounds like a throwaway detail until you realize how rare that is and how much it says about the place. We love it so much that we'll happily drive 40 minutes each way to eat there - in winter - because that's what you do when a place never lets you down. And despite the sign saying Al's Seafood, we tell everyone it's called "Big Al's Seafood" Not because that's the name, but because that's the energy this place has... It's not trendy. It's not trying to reinvent anything. It's just awesome, every single time and honestly, that's harder to pull off than any gimmick. Signing off... keep it up, Big Al.

We got the fisherman's platter... other than the small shrimps it was real good. Fresh and lightly breaded the way I like it. I gave it four 's

Al's has the fried seafood down pat! Nice fresh oil leads to light crispy fried food. Everything was great, party of 4 1 haddock sandwich 2 turkey club sandwich 1 seafood platter around 70$ Seafood platter portion was underwhelming but the quality was good.

Friendly service, super clean, delicious food and great prices! We loved everything we had. Fish & chips, onion rings and fried while belly clams.

Holy crap this is hands down our favorite place as far as quality and price. We will be back tonight before we leave from our vacation to get another whole lobster. You HAVE to try this place out if you love seafood. They even have a deli side where you can get stuff to go. We are in a hotel versus an air bnb so didn't take advantage of that but check em out

I spent most of my week in New Hampshire sitting still thanks to a wicked case of vertigo, so when it finally came time to hit up a seafood spot near the water I was ready to go. I stopped by Al's Seafood with my parents at around noon on a Friday and this place was packed. Unlike most restaurants, here you place your order at the front window located outside, then you head inside and grab a table, then the food is brought to you wherever you sit and it's time to eat. The restaurant itself is straight out of a photo book called "New England" and I loved it. It's a big open room that looks exactly how a seafood place near the Atlantic Ocean should look and the staff is super friendly on top of it, checking 2/3 boxes for atmosphere and staff, so how was the food? I ended up ordering the lazy man lobster which came with two rolls and french fries, and my parents ordered a large onion ring for the table to split. I only ate a few of the onion rings as the breading was really not up my ally, just not the flavour I shoot for with onion rings, while the french fries were a classic steak style with solid flavour that tasted pretty good. The lobster itself was perfect, trimmed of the stuff I can't eat and just a pile of lobster meat ready to get devoured. There was a decent amount of lobster meat here and it all tasted very good. Overall, Al's Seafood is a North Hampton staple and a place I would absolutely visit again in the future. The staff here was friendly, the restaurant was well decorated and looked great, and the food was fantastic as well. If you are looking for the seafood treatment in New Hampshire, this place is going to do the trick.

And they have the displays to match. On this partly cloudy afternoon, I was in search of lobster tails. Upon requesting them, I discovered two things.. 1.) Unfortunately, the tails offered are not very big. Near as I can figure, they come in packs of 3 of what appear to be around 5 ounces each. 2.) Lobster really IS more affordable if you buy it in Maine. For context, a standard two pack of lobster tails at 5 ounces each (or sometimes 4oz) costs me around $25 in NH at the time of writing this review. The 3 pack of the same size tails costs the same price here at Taylor. So, naturally I bought two of those and ultimately nabbed a little under 2 pounds of lobstah for a mere $50. Sufficed to say - we will most certainly return at a future date. I have my eyes set on the fresh lobster meat next. As mentioned, everything in the glass display looked delicious. The place is easy enough to find. Just be aware their entrance is actually not in the front of the building, but on the right hand side. It's a little confusing at first, especially considering the tiny street view sign doesn't help much. If you drive into the "boat drop off" section, you're on the wrong side. Other items I wouldn't mind trying next visit are their lobster bisque and clam chowder. If you're coming across the border as I do, one pro tip I'd offer is to bring a cooler to keep your produce in for the day as you travel back. We transported the lobstah back in my car on an 85 degree day and the gel ice packs kept everything cold enough not to oxidize. Definitely check this place out for all your fresh seafood needs. The locals have spoken and I agree; Taylor Lobster Company is worth 5 fresh, buttery lobstah tails charred on the grill out of 5.

What the heck!…read moreWhile I'm kicking myself for not coming earlier, I am now very happy that I know this spot is perfect in every way! So I got the hot lobster roll and my boyfriend got the cold lobster roll (not pictured sadly). Personally, I prefer a warm buttery roll, but he loved his cold roll and said it was perfectly seasoned. You get a good amount of lobster and it's $30. The line... omg it was out the door and soooo long. But trust me. Stay! It's worth it. And they move super fast. The pricing overall was really good. We also got the lobster bisque which had chunks of lobster in it (I dipped my roll in it and it was magic). Only $10! And a good portion. But they have all sorts of things--Mac and cheese, shrimp cocktail, steamers... and next door you can get fresh seafood as well. This is seafood heaven. And again, I was content with the price for quality food. Now let me quickly talk about the view because that was awesome. We sat outside and watched the ocean because it's at Rye Harbor (as the name suggests). It's so relaxing. Especially on a beautiful day. Here's the one thing you may be iffy on. $10 to pay for parking for the day. 30 minutes free. If you think you can do it all in 30 minutes, go for it. But we didn't want to rush so we paid $10 for parking which is kind of eh. But I get it because the whale watch leaves from the harbor. A minor thing to know, but not something to deter you from coming. Though if you don't come... that's more lobster rolls for me!
