They cooked up well and certainly scratched that sweet lobster meat itch. Service was efficient and curt. The fella was on a mission & didn't seem to be chatty. (The gal in front of us went for small talk & was met with short replies- not rude, just direct.) The case was clean & well-lit. We considered getting scallops, as they looked good. Instead, opted to stop next door for a cheese appetizer, spreading the love.

One prepared so well that you think about it for the rest of the day. From the moment I stepped in until I placed my order, all the staff were so friendly and attentive (not just with me but all the other customers that kept entering the establishment). The lobster rolled was not dressed like what you'd usually find in New England. In fact, it was lightly seasoned and allowed you to taste the sweetness of lobster meat itself and how perfectly cooked it was! You can't hide quality when serving it almost bare like this that it's a purist's dream! Dang, I can't stop thinking about! The shrimp sandwich was another simple culinary delight executed well. Perfectly cooked shrimp, dressed lightly, on a nicely toasted buttered brioche with crisp lettuce and tomatoes. I inhaled this just as quickly with my eyes rolling with every bite. Dang it again. The gluten-free clam chowder was a great way to finish off this quick meal. Perfectly balanced, tasty, salted perfectly, and loaded with chunky clams. What a way to warm up in this NE chilly weather this time of year. Without even trying their other fresh seafood options, they've already made it to my list of must-visits when in the area. Can't wait to be back again!

I was super pleased with their recommendations for my first time cooking a lobster totally solo from start to finish. They could've upsold me on a bigger, pricier lobster given my admitted ignorance. And they even steered me in the proper direction and probably save me from disaster attempting to cook one over a fire without boiling. not only that but they had local reasonably priced but premium New England blueberry ice cream... What? They weren't even annoyed that I got there 15 or 20 minutes before close. The young lobster I got was so sweet and flavorful it didn't even need the melted butter or lime juice I had at the ready I was impressed with the amount of meat as well for a little bugger I really can't wait to come back, I love this place.

We tried the chicken salad sandwich which had a delicious and generous portion with real flavorful chicken meat at a fair price. Our waitress suggested the truffle fries, but sadly a disappointment. They came to the table cold and a bit soggy. Unfortunately the restaurant suddenly became packed and our waitress never returned to check. She apologized for the fries, said she would let the kitchen know, and removed the charge from our bill. Handled well, and sometimes things happen. This place holds promise and despite being served an order of old cold fries, we will return and give them another shot.

They offer full service dine-in and takeout. This place is not to be confused with another Great Island Eatery in Maine. For breakfast, they serve breakfast sandwiches, acai bowls and coffee. For lunch/dinner, they serve up salads, sandwiches, fish tacos, crab cakes, lobster rolls, fried seafood plates, chicken tenders, hot dogs, shrimp cocktail, oysters, and cold drinks from the cooler. They also serve Memories Ice Cream, beer, wine, liquor, and mixed drinks. The prices are moderate high. The seating areas are open air (seat yourself) with covered table seating in the eatery, adjacent patio table seating, a canopy covered table seating section along the waterfront and adjacent picnic table seating. I stopped by Great Island Eatery (NH) for a quick dinner. I sat myself at a table in The Eatery since the waterfront seating was full. I was given a laminated menu and a plastic cup of cold water. I went with the Fish & Chips ($19 plus tax), which came out to me about 6 minutes later, served in a paper takeout box with plenty of crispy salted golden fries (small pieces), house slaw, a good sized piece of deep fried haddock and lemon wedge. The haddock was hot and had a very crispy oily light breading (panko), dipping into the provided tartar sauce. There was also a ketchup squeeze bottle at the table which I definitely needed for the salted fries. The shredded slaw had a vinegary taste and pretty decent. After I finished everything, the server arrived with a Square portable electronic payment block which you pay for your check by card electronically. The check total was $20.62 with tax and before tip. Overall, the fish & chips were pretty good and I had a great view of the waterfront, even from my seat in the Eatery. NOTE: The nearby gravel/paved parking lot configuration is very short-sighted and poorly thought out, by limiting parking for folks who only want to patronize the waterfront marina restaurant outside of a gated parking area for marina members with plenty of open spots. It was difficult trying to leave as folks waiting to park were blocking exiting vehicles.

The ambience is quite brilliant. That dozens of picnic tables are long lined up on a pier over an inlet where the ocean tide runs far in and out. The restaurant is known for its lobster, clams, oysters, mussels, chowder, and side dishes. One of us got fish and chips. Two of us each had a dozen oysters. One got a mussels. We got corn on the cob, coleslaw, and fries as side dishes. when we arrived, the tide had just started moving out down the river. By the time we were done eating, the tide was a good 4 feet lower, and that was fun to watch. most of the order takers and servers appear to be high school and college aged. Their moods or light and cheery. The food was all excellent. The price is were reasonable, for example, each medium sized shocked oyster was two dollars on the half shell come on a bed of ice. Really, the only issue we had was that our side dishes were not delivered to our table until we reminded one of the servers. And that was no big deal. One of the great things about this place is that BYOB is encouraged, and many people brought a small cooler of beer or chilled wine. We brought plenty of local beers and a couple of cans of premixed cocktails. We all agreed that the experience was pretty amazing personally because none of us really knew how to crack open a lobster properly and get all of the meat, so we watched other local people go through their lobster routine. This is not a dress up kind of place. It was more of a wonderful hole in the wall. I would go back again in a heartbeat.
