I came here for relatively minor posture issues and shortly afterward ended up experiencing a vertebral artery dissection at age 25. This has turned into a serious and ongoing medical situation involving chronic pain, headaches, extensive testing, doctor visits, and significant financial cost. The pain began within a day after my visit. My doctors have described the tear as traumatic/mechanical in nature. They explained that vertebral artery dissection is a known risk associated with high-velocity neck manipulation, although they also said there is no way to determine the exact cause with certainty. Months later the dissection has progressed to moderate to severe, and I am still dealing with the consequences. From my perspective, the high-velocity neck adjustments recommended here were not worth the risk. I was hesitant about neck manipulation initially, but I felt there was pressure to proceed with it. After the adjustment I experienced unusual neck pain similar to what I had felt after prior adjustments, though this time it became significantly worse the following day when my neck cracked during a gentle stretch at home. That worsening pain ultimately led to medical evaluation and the diagnosis. Because of how serious and prolonged this experience has been, I strongly encourage anyone considering neck manipulation to carefully research the potential risks and make an informed decision before proceeding. Superior Chiropractors that'll straighten you out During and after the pandemic, I've been spending a lot of time seating down. That's very bad for your back, some say "seating" is the new way to destroy your body. Dr. Dan offered a Groupon, so it was an excellent way to try them out before committing to a doctor's office. They also, offer the service of Mr. Park, the Acupuncturist. They are kind, caring and extremely flexible (pun intended) with their patients. I love the centrally located office, right off of Bethesda Row. They play music which is good for the soul, while they help you straighten out your body. Everyone, the two doctors Drs. Dan and Rosell, are very good at their trade. When seeing a chiropractor, you must trust them completely. You can place you trust in both of these fine doctors. The team that staff the office are made up of the Administrative Staff, lead by Sonja. Another key and vital part of the team, are the chiropractic assistants. They are a fun, intelligent and good nature group that only want to help you get better. Bonus points, they are very personable and love to chat about many various topics like food, travel, life, music and cats. I've been to a number of chiropractors in multiple states. By far, Dr. Dan is the most thorough chiropractor I have met. The individualized assessments are like nothing I've seen. Most chiropractors take an x-ray and do the same adjustments every session. Dr. Dan has you stretched, doing exercises, and then giving you adjustments based on what you need that day - while considering you long-term goals. The care for your goals and how you feel in the moment has been incredible in helping me feel SIGNIFICANT improvement in only three weeks. I've had a few appointments scheduled over the last three weeks for chiropractor and acupuncture visits. Unfortunately, two have them have run so far behind schedule that I had to leave before I could be seen. In today's visit, the practice seemed unable to locate the detailed paperwork I filled out during my first visit that the nurse practitioner input with an assistant. They seemed frustrated that I wouldn't fill out all the forms again. They seem nice enough, but for a service you have to go in for a couple of times a week, the scheduling and timeliness issues seem unworkable. read more

I came across Bethesda Spine & Posture on a whim. Friday evening, sitting in my car - phone in one hand while taking Chick-fil-A fries to the face with the other. I randomly Googled scoliosis braces for adults and came across the ScoliBrace. I searched the ScoliBrace directory and was pleased to see there was a local practice that offered it. Bethesda Spine & Posture has completely exceeded my expectations and, no exaggeration, changed my life. *cue the tears* (haha!) I've suffered from severe scoliosis and tremendous back pain since I was about 14-15. On my first day, I walked in thinking I'd get the usual: "how long have you been diagnosed?" "where does it hurt?" get an x-ray, adjustment and send me on my way. But Dr. Rosell - man! She not only inquired about my history and current pain, but immediately started educating me about the spine and suggested things like the ideal desk set-up to help minimize pain/stress on my back, etc. Once my x-ray was done and the report was printed she walked me through the report and how she planned on working with me. And to top it off, she sent me home with a lumbar support (to support my back while working at my desk - which has been a BLESSING by the way), a shoe insert to align my hips/legs, and a cervical Denneroll - all on my first day. This, in addition to the amount of education I received from that appointment alone, had me leaving with so much hope and relief. I probably did shed a few tears of joy on the drive home. For the first time I really felt like my condition had been treated like a priority rather than simply receiving an adjustment to manage the pain. Dr. Rosell talks the talk AND walks the walk. Her attentiveness, honesty, expertise, and overall personable demeanor definitely had me on day 1! It's now been about 4 months since I started visiting this practice, and every single concern I bring to Dr. Rosell and Dr. Dan is treated with the utmost regard. You can tell that they are passionate about what they do and truly care about making a difference in the lives of their patients. I had plans to move out-of-state prior to visiting this practice, and I have to say that my experience here is a big reason why I decided to stay put (and even move closer for an easier commute ) And I don't want to leave a review without highlighting the rest of the awesome staff. Dr. Dan really knows how to hire a great team. The admin team is delightful and always delivers white glove service. They're thorough, organized and always pleasant to chat with. Absolutely couldn't find a better chiropractor in the DMV than Dr.Krauss. I moved back to the DMV due to COVID which means I hadn't seen my regular chiro since February. Found Bethesda Spine & Posture on FB and decided to check it out since I was in desperate need of an adjustment.
