This place is way overpriced! And the service is not that friendly. I would rather give my business to another neighborhood market.

And a personal breakthrough: I used to schlep all the way to Larchmont Cheese & Wine or Bay Cities before beach days for a proper sandwich. Not anymore. I have sandwich geniuses living right down the street. The bread? Exceptional. The cheeses? Dangerous. The meats? I may never recover. And then there's the lemon Italian ice. My daughter and I have been here three times in the last week, shamelessly returning like two neighborhood raccoons with excellent taste. It is the perfect antidote to a scorching Altadena afternoon. This place is an absolute gem. Go for the pasta, stay for the sandwich, leave with three things you didn't know you needed and a strong desire to become Italian.

Service was great and the girl at the counter was lovely but the price of everything was way too steep and it didn't deliver at all. We ordered the mortadella and the artichoke. This cue little boutique specializes in gourmet food and gift items that you typically don't see everywhere else. I came here last Friday for a special shopping event to support Pasadena Humane. The owner Maddie Romo graciously donated 10% of the evenings sales to PH. We were treated to wine while we shopped and nibbles of some of the store's specialty gourmet products. This place is adorable! They carry a wide assortment of goods - clothing, soaps, books, jewelry, cooking supplies, kitchenware, barware, trinkets.... There is something for everyone here. While browsing through all their wonderful selections I was thrilled when I came across Southern Belle Jalapeño Cranberry Sauce & Jumpin' Jack BBQ Sauce. My friend makes them, so I had to take a picture to send to her. There were so many cute things in the store that I wanted for myself. It was hard for me to maintain self-control and just stick to my holiday shopping list. Maddie was so delightful as was the other gal that worked there. They were both friendly, cheerful, and helpful. Next time I need a unique gift or want to treat myself to something fun I'll be coming here. Tip: There are a number of cool shops and restaurants in the area so make a day out of it and explore. There is free street parking and in a lot behind the shops.

The quality of the ingredients and attention to detail are apparent in every bite and every sip. It is well worth the wait you'll most likely encounter. No matter how busy they are, the staff will greet you warmly--even coming out with umbrellas like they did for us when it was raining--and take the time to help you order, converse, and genuinely make you feel welcome. There are limited tables inside to enjoy your haul, but if you're lucky, a spot will open up and spare your car from the flaky goodness that will inevitably rain down all over your clothes and upholstery. Either way, it's worth it. CAR is exceptional.

Once we got to the counter everything was quick because they just pack everything up right away. I ordered the Spinach Feta Croissant ($8.40), Berry Danish ($6.95), and Turkey Ham & Gruyere Croissant ($8.50). The berry danish was cleared out at the front glass but I asked if they had more coming in the back and luckily they did. The other two were ordered from the glass displays. I wouldn't say they're the best croissants I've ever had, but they were still pretty good. Only thing with the ham and cheese croissant was that I cut it in half the short way to share (so you would think both halves would have an even distribution of everything) but all the ham was pushed to one side that their half literally had no ham in it. There were a lot of other things on display that looked really good so when I venture out to this part of town I'll have to come back and give those a try. I definitely recommend coming in early because a lot of things in the front displays were cleared out by the time we got to the front. They do keep making more but it's not a guarantee.

Glad I did as I now declare Mission as my official neighborhood fine spiritsl dealer. When you first walk in, you'll notice that it looks a lot bigger than the outside and it's super clean and neat. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more spotless, organized establishment. Everything is pretty easy to find, and there's a lot to choose from, even a few things I couldn't find from the other two big spirit franchisers. And they don't only just sell alcohol, but they have a large, enclosed area for expensive cigars. Price-wise, I think it's about average. Some bottles I was looking for were a little over than what I've seen, and some others were just a bit under. So if you're looking for a real bargain here, probably not. But you will find some hard-to-find bottles here for sure. I will note that this is probably not a beginner-friendly store. There really isn't anyone around to ask questions, save for the folks working the counter - and they're all business it seems. It's more of a self-service spot for sure. Other than that, it's a good place to browse and check out. Happy hunting!
