These sandwiches were really good! I only stopped by to order from their deli counter, but I'd love to come back to try their actual dishes!! The Italian Deli Hero ($16) The Original Italian Grinder ($15)

Great food and even better service. Honestly, I can't remember what the meat dish was, but it was absolutely amazing, probably the best dish on the table. I think it was off the seasonal spring menu which would be a shame, because I'd definitely recommend ordering it. What really made our night was the outstanding service, super friendly and attentive. The other entrees were also solid, and both desserts were amazing. Would definitely recommend visiting, and we'll be back!

Revising my review, I was remembering the location of one spot but reviewing another. The food was right but the locale was NOT the same. Forgive me, my habit is EATING!!! This neighborhood restaurant is down the block from my friend's house. It's a cool little hop skip and a jump around the corner. Here's what we ate: Panee Olio - Fresh baked ciabatta, olive oil, mixed olives - the bread was GOOD, nice crust, soft inside. It does make me sad that bread is no longer complimentary in 90% of all restaurants I dine at. Insalata Bietole - Roasted organic beets, wild arugula, strawberries, candied pecans, burrata, red wine vinaigrette - MMMMMM, this was a delicious salad. The burrata added such good creaminess to the dish. I love me a red wine vinaigrette, great balance of acid. Prosciutto Rucola e Tartufo - Ricotta sauce, fresh mozzarella, truffle shavings, arugula, shaved parmesan, white truffle essence - it's a nice light flatbread dish. I think I personally would have enjoyed the prosciutto baked crispy on the flatbread instead of fresh for more saltiness to the dish. Lasagna - Bolognese, bechamel, mixed mushrooms, parmesan - my friend loved her lasagna with the white sauce instead of red. I'm definitely coming back to try more of the menu. Street parking is found at a premium here, there's a small structure with a handful of subterranean parking around the corner and up the street.

Came by to celebrate some birthdays during weekend brunch hours! During brunch the lunch menu is not available. Dog friendly, so we were able to have our well behaved dog sit outside with us. Bathrooms are decorated with dog designs. We shared some brunch items (panini and sausage egg dishes) plus some flat breads. We weren't able to get pasta as they were not on the brunch menu but they were kids pasta dishes available. Meals were filling and tasty.

Cute Italian restaurant on Washington, outside tables are small on sidewalk if you want to bring a furry friend. Entrance is a deli where you can get sandwiches and Italian goods eg pasta sauce bottles, dry pasta. Inside the restaurant is cutely decorated and with comfortable seats. Parking was easy street parking. From 6-8pm they have a Parmegiano wheel on the side of restaurant where they make Cacio e pepe..this was so creamy and cheesy, I enjoyed it. I just wish we had been told they were making it so I could have gone over to watch, ( I thought they would wheel it over to make it more tableside). The Mussels and Clams was one of their featured entries, we ordered it with the white lobster sauce, which was lick your plate good. Did not realize it does not come with pasta, but took leftovers home to make our own pasta :) The Pisa was more like a flatbread, interesting, cheesy could use more toppings. Cheesecake was also interesting had a creme brulee top that gave it a charred taste, however they dont make it in house so the cheesecake itself was cold, would recommend trying one of their other desserts

Service: very nice and welcoming, the gentleman who served us was nice and professional. Very attentive. Food: our group ordered fettuccine pasta, the red and green pasta, steak and then the chicken entrees. We also ordered the appetizer bread with olives, minestrone soup, cheesecake and tiramisu. Our favorites were the bread appetizer with olives and the chicken entrée with the potatoes, and cheesecake if we had to choose one of each.

This review is for the deli and not the restaurant. I really wanted to like The Italian Deli Co, but sadly it missed the mark for me. I actually wanted to try their sandwich because it looked really good. Parking was a breeze (there's plenty of street parking) and since I was going to the deli, there was no wait. I have been really craving a good Italian sandwich, which I ordered, and a porchetta sandwich, which I thought looked good. The employee was super nice and brought out the sandwich pretty quickly. Experience at the restaurant was great so I had high hopes for the sandwich. Unfortunately the sandwich was just average. The sandwich was so dry, there were not enough condiments. I ended up putting some of my own. The deli meat was also slightly dry, making the sandwich not very tasty. Not sure if it's because I ordered the wrong thing? Also, I know restaurants are cutting costs in general because of the economy, but the sandwich was pretty small for what I paid for. Overall, pretty disappointed. I don't think I will be back since there are other sandwich places around.

    Sauté di Cozze e Vongole
    Alethea A.

Normally when we get Italian Deli Co, we're having people over and buy 5 sandwiches to go. Today, we were planning to eat in for dinner, but my partner wasn't feeling well. We still wanted Italian, so I offered to go and pick it up. The online menu is sandwiches and piadina only, so I called first to make sure we could get restaurant meals to go. They said yes. I ordered eggplant parmigiana for him and Sauté di Cozze e Vongole for me, as well as a cannoli and a salted caramel dolce freddo to sip while waiting. The drink was delicious and the server, Brooke, was super friendly and helpful (A+, 100%, no notes). I'd had a long week and admittedly was flying on autopilot by then. I paid my tab, got my bag and went to the car. Now I am pretty extra about transporting food safely and without spills, so I put the bag on the front passenger seat and belted it in so it wouldn't tip over. So far, so good. I drove home relishing the delicious garlic smells wafting through the car. I got out and this is where things started going haywire. I walked in the front door and realized the cream sauce on the mussels had just dripped out of the box (not sure why liquid was packaged this way and I will definitely be on alert for this in future!) right through the bag, up the stairs, across the door mat, and all over my shoes (and the flip flops I had been about to put on). Ugh. I have cats who definitely should not be eating garlic, so my husband and I cleaned up the mess after taking photos. I also noticed I had left behind the cannoli And was resigned to calling the restaurant and asking for a refund for the cannoli, at the very least. When I got to the kitchen, I found that basically ALL the sauce had leaked right out of the box (did they not have a deli cup? It's literally a deli). I tried calling twice, but no one picked up. I figured they were busy, as it's the day before a holiday, though it was still pretty early, only about 5 pm. Between the lack of sauce in my dish, the left-behind cannoli, and the mess (thank goodness 90% of the sauce didn't end up in the car upholstery) I decided to just drive back and see what they could do. I am sorry I didn't get their names, but the servers (managers? owners? Apologies, I was SO frazzled. One of them was wearing a green shirt) at the front of house listened to my account, looked at my photos, offered to remake the dish for me, and let me sit at the bar while I waited. I also got my cannoli (perfect). I was offered water or a glass of wine (I declined, I forgot the rest of the dolce freddo at home and was looking forward to finishing it. When my meal arrived, the person in the green shirt told me to be more careful this time and when I expressed trepidation, offered to plastic wrap the box (it was still in a box! Weird but ok) which they did with that good industrial plastic wrap This did the trick by the way. So thank you to the staff at Italian Deli Co. for making it right. I had been looking forward to this meal all week, and though due to the circumstances, I will have to do some reheating at this point, I am really looking forward to our next visit. 1) if I have to order to go I will try not to order liquidy/saucy things 2) if I do order liquidy/saucy things I will ask for the plastic wrap treatment 3) aside from not having the appropriate to go containers for sauce, everything else about this place so far has been excellent, particularly the people and the food. I will be continuing to spent our hard-earned money supporting this local business.

@monicascozycravings for more I love this gem! We're big fans of Italian food, but we don't live close to many authentic spots, so I'm so glad we found this place. We came here to celebrate our anniversary and it ended up being such a great experience. We had the carbonara and the Bolognese pasta, and both were absolutely delicious--rich, flavorful, and tasted really authentic. We also tried one of their desserts and a non-alcoholic beer, which was surprisingly really tasty. The service was great and made the whole experience even better. Overall, such a cozy spot with amazing food. We'll definitely be coming back! -@monicaerikaa TikTok

Overall, I like the atmosphere of the place. It feels like I entered Italy. I think the food and ambiance reflect that as well. Judging by European food standards, the food wasn't overpowering. It felt like the spirit of Italy and its cuisine. Rather, ingredients were fresh and the flavor was not overpowering. The calamari was crisp and tender. The soup was okay, but I'm not sure if it was to my taste. It seems like it was some barley and it had some pieces of meat and a tomato-based soup. Overall, the food was good, but I think it was the total package of the environment and the ambiance of the place. The service was good and the staff was friendly. Definitely a gem in the neighborhood as they have cooking classes for kids and they can teach them some italian. Super cute.

I barely was able to make time before they stopped the parmesan wheel pasta and I'm very glad I was able to make it! It was a very nice dinner. The pasta was really good and definitely from other alfredo/white sauces. The salad was also really good and fresh. My server was amazing and such a nice guy. It was also a very cute place inside and outside too. I will say I do understand how the service can come off weird from the front desk because they had a confusion on their end about my reservation but she was very rude towards me until she realized it was their mistake. After that it was fixed and they were very nice but I get it.

5/5 - Outstanding Italian Dining Experience Italian Deli Company in Pasadena exceeded our expectations in every way. The ambiance is beautiful, clean, and welcoming, with both indoor and outdoor seating that creates a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The mellow Italian music in the background added to the authentic dining experience. The food was exceptional. We ordered the Tagliatelle Polpette, Pollo e Prosciutto, Burrata e Prosciutto, and Salsiccia e Peperonata, and every dish was delicious and expertly prepared. The quality and freshness of the ingredients really stood out. From the fresh arugula and Parmesan cheese to the prosciutto and wine selection, everything tasted high-quality and carefully sourced. The service was friendly, attentive, and fast. A special touch was Chef Lalo coming out to greet us personally, which made the experience even more memorable. The portions were very generous and offered excellent value for the price. We ended up taking food home because there was so much, and every bite was worth it. As for the noise level, there were a few families with children, but everyone was respectful, and the overall atmosphere remained calm and relaxing. If you're looking for authentic Italian food, fresh ingredients, generous portions, and outstanding hospitality in Pasadena, Italian Deli Company is definitely worth a visit. We'll be back!

I finally had the opportunity to come back and try the food. I had reservations on a Saturday night. Our server was a charming young gentleman. They don't have a full bar but wine & beer are available, so I had a Hugo Spritz. It was refreshing & tasty. We were lucky that our reservations were at 6 pm, so we could partake in The Parmigiano Wheel Experience (daily from 5:30 - 7 pm). The dish is prepared at the center of the restaurant so all guests can get a view of the Cacio e Pepe being made to order and the delicious smell that fills the restaurant. At $24 it's a bargain, so we had that along with Linguine al Frutti di Mare ($31) and the Insalata Mista Stagionale $17. The Cacio e Pepe was Chef's Kiss! The Linguine was al dente, the sauce was delish, and the seafood was fresh. The salad was also incredibly good - mixed greens with California yellow peaches, caramelized pecans, crumbled goat cheese, & a pomegranate dressing. It was a special but should be on regular rotation. For dessert we shared the Tiramisu and it did not disappoint. A few weeks later I returned. Our server, Carlos, was fantastic! An absolute delight. This time we ordered: Fritto Misto ($22), Pane e Olio ($8), Insalata Mista Stagionale ($18), Spaghetti Al Limoncello (Special $38), Cacio e Pepe ($24), Chicken Parmigiana ($29), Ricotta Cheesecake Brûlée ($14), & Limoncello Cake. Everything was molto delizioso!

I was born and raised just up the street from the restaurant and have fond memories of family meals at this wonderful restaurant. There is nothing bad on the menu. Whenever it is too packed to get a table we just order to go and eat at home. The pizzas are awesome and the pasta dishes are on point! The antipasto salad is a must! Be warned about huge servings! They do have a full bar, not just beer and wine. Please come and enjoy some awesome Italian food from a mom and pop style restaurant. You won't regret it! There's a small parking lot in back but plenty of street parking. Help support small businesses. Remember to be kind to everyone and Thanks for your interest. Take care

When you enter The establishment you are immediately aware of the great aromas coming from the kitchen. After walking through some tables and chairs, I was greeted at the counter by a friendly hello and 'how can I help you?' I asked a number of questions concerning the menu. I knew there was pizza but I wanted to know more about their sandwiches and salads. I found out that they do have daily / weekly specials that are a great value. I decided to order a special small Italian sausage pizza and an order of six nude chicken wings with ranch dip on the side. I sat down and waited for the order to be completed. There were a few people at some tables finishing up their lunch. While I was there the phone was constantly ringing with takeout orders. The walls had simple decorations that created a nice ambiance. When my order was called, I was given instructions on how to carry the bag as to not disturb the toppings and cheese on the pizza. As I walked, the smell of the fresh pizza and wings was enticing. The wings were just as I ordered. I enjoyed that they have not been overcooked. The wings were tender and moist. The ranch dressing dipping sauce was a great choice. I look forward to trying some of their other homemade sauces. The Italian Sausage Pizza was cooked just the way I like it. The crust had a nice crisp bottom and great flavor. The toppings of olive and onion were a perfect combination with the Italian sausage. I was happy that I ordered the small size rather than the mini so that I could enjoy some cold pizza the next day. Great flavor even on day two. On another trip I ordered the Italian Grinder Sandwich and a large Antipasto Salad. The salad was full of flavor and fresh vegetables and meats. The sandwich was huge. More ingredients than I expected with a great Italian flavor, the bread was incredible as well. I tried the sandwich both cold and hot and both ways the flavor was the star of this sandwich. I look forward to coming back and enjoying some of the other items on their menu. Fresh pastas are next on my list of things to try. I anticipate that whatever I order will be exceptional!

There was so many options and only limited belly room. We ordered: Tinned fish board Cheese board Cornbread eclair - OMG! The eclair was so unexpected and so delectable A few cocktails Dessert Afterwards, we went shopping in their little bodega and purchased cookies and crackers to be enjoyed at our next Hollywood Bowl outing. Enjoy!

Our waiter was incredibly passive and at times it felt like we were being completely ignored. He would attend to tables around us but never checked in with us, had what seemed like a limited knowledge of the menu, and offered a half assed apology at the end of the night. The table next to us was clearly someone of importance, because they kept getting "gifted" foods, cheeses, drinks, etc. - which is fine, but only magnified our poor service. We also saw our food and beverages as well as other tables food and beverages be delivered to the wrong tables. My fiances sorbet was given to the special table next to us, but they had already had their dessert, and so the wait staff left with it and a minute later delivered it to our table melted. There was one staff member that was wonderful, and it seemed like he was a busboy who was filling in for our waiter (sorry I did not get his name) but he was very kind, personable, and would be the reason we come back, aside from the great food. There was also no acknowledgement of the special occasion we were celebrating, which is a minor thing but at other restaurants it's usually never missed and helps make for a nice experience especially when we mark that we are here celebrating an anniversary. All in all it was a disappointing experience. We may return for the food in the future, because it was excellent, but the service needs to be worked on.
