I definitely recommend this place for any alteration needs. I first came here to get my wedding dress altered two years ago. I had a cheap and simple wedding dress with lace. I spent $135 and Eloisa did a great job. My husband also gets his pants, shorts, and polo shirts altered with her and she does a great job. My husband tried getting an alteration done somewhere else but he said he still prefers the way Eloisa does alterations. You can pay her with cash or venmo. Review for initial quote: I brought my reception dress over for a quote. It was a 200 dollar white dress from Lulu that I just needed minor changes but I was quoted $5000 to make the dress shorter by 2 inches on the bottom, and to shorten the straps. I went to another place ~2 minutes drive from there and got a quote of $98 dollars. At Eloisa's she never asked me to try the dress on or anything but the other place asked me to try the dress on and even started to pin the dress. Initially I thought I would go to Eloise to get my ceremony dress altered but not after that quote. I'm using Laura's for my ceremony dress and I love them! I tried on my dress and they gave me a quote in writing before we decided to proceed. They were very professional and I'm very happy with them. Hope this helps with someone. read more

I'm almost in tears writing this; happy tears!!! The pandemic has wreaked havoc on my wedding planning, so I was very last minute when I sought out to get my wedding dress altered. I initially brought the gown to Nancy in Rice Village since she had so many great reviews. She was curt, rude, and unwelcoming. I basically walked in, told her my wedding date and she immediately turned me down without further discussion & in such a mean way that I broke down crying in the store. As terrible as that experience was, I'm thankful that she couldn't alter my dress because that led me to finding my wedding angel Eloisa! I found out after the fact that she usually doesn't work on my brand of dress because of the way that they're made (that's another story) but I guess she saw how distraught and stressed I was when I came in, and she worked her magic for me. Not only is my dress PERFECT, but Eloisa got in done in 2 WEEKS!!!!!!! When I went to pick up the dress, I was amazed at how she fixed things that I didn't even point out to her, in order to really make sure that the dress fit my body and flattered my figure. I could not stop smiling and praising her in the store. She is a true seamstress and I can tell that she is a master at her craft. I really, really couldn't have asked for much more. Eloisa is amazingly talented and she is such a sweet woman with a good heart on top of that. Eloisa altered my daughter's wedding dress from a size 2 to a size 4. She also hemmed it and added the tools necessary that allowed the skirt to be bustled. The zipper in the dress was sewn incorrectly and she was able to fix it so it zipped easier. The dress is perfect and her work is impeccable. She is kind, easy to contact, and eager to please. I bought a designer wedding dress at a sample sale but needed it sized down from an 8 to either a 0 or 2. I also wanted to customize the upper half of the dress. After checking out a couple of other wedding dress alteration businesses that added fees for every small element, Eloisa offered me a very fair flat rate for customizing the entire dress and adding bustles. She did an incredible job maintaining the overall design of the dress despite having to bring it in significantly and managed to create the top I wanted based on a few examples I had provided.
