I've gone to Alterations Unlimited for years, I've always had great service there in the alterations have always been on point.

Do NOT go here. They charged me $25 more than what I was quoted on the phone. They never called me. I called one week prior to confirm that it would be ready on the specific date agreed upon (I gave them my dress a month prior) and they said it would definitely be ready. When I came to pick it up, they did not remember who I was, and had to search for the dress. And you guessed it, they were not finished with it. They did tried to hurry up and do it while I was sitting and waiting, and my dress ended up being shorter in the front than in the back which is not what I wanted. Also, the lady who did my alterations (I believe, Debbie) told me that boobtape wouldn't work for me because my boobs were too floppy/saggy. I would not recommend anyone bringing any piece of clothing there, ever. read more

It took me a long time to find the perfect dress. It was brand new. 8 fittings later, 6 of which had NO changes, and she whipped it together the DAY BEFORE my wedding. Beads and rhinestones FLYING across the room. Snags and threads everywhere, zero attention to detail. Went from brand new to war zone. The worst part was it fit better BEFORE. All I wanted done was to close the front a little so I wasn't exposed and put a bustle on it. It was up in my armpits, and the gap was closed with a big glob of fabric and what used to be lace and beads. Horrible shoddy work. I wanted to cry. Should've left the dress alone. Lesson learned but I don't want anyone else to go through the same hassle. read more

I have gone three times to utilize their services, but no more. Two instances for hemming pants and one time to take in some dress shirts. sure. In all three cases, I had to call back after four weeks of no follow up. Each time they ask, "have we called you yet?" I tell them no, and it's been over four weeks since I dropped them off. Then the same explanation all three times: let me check, I found them, we've been real busy, someone quit or was on vacation, we'll bump you to the front. For my last service for shirts, they did a very poor rush job. On one shirt, they didn't follow their pinning, and now the shirt is too tight to wear. I look like a kid outgrowing his Sunday school shirts! On another shirt, they cut too much excess fabric from the sleeve. There wasn't enough fabric left to sew the hem, and now there is a 1 1/2 inch hole near the cuff! On the third shirt, the hem down the side is not straight. I'm looking for a good Alterer if anyone has any suggestions... read more

I am a petite person and often need tailoring on all of my clothes. I love the gals at Alterations Unlimited because not only are they the best in town at alterations, but they're timely and super friendly. They have altered casual to eveningwear and their work has always been excellent. I wont go anywhere else! read more

The staff was very rude. I brought a dress in to see if it could be made bigger. The seamstress took the dress in the back room and when she came back with it the dress was all cut up. I was not quoted a price or even told if it would be ready by when I needed it. So now I have no choice but to have her do the dress and pay whatever she decides to charge. Also when I got some dates mixed up she said "procrastinators are liars." She was rude to me, my child, and she talked over me and never listened to anything I said. I can not understand how this place is still in business. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. read more

Alterations Unlimited is the place to go for alterations. I had my wedding dress alterations done there and Fran made sure that everything was perfect for me. My wedding dress was one of my favorite parts about being a bride. I loved every detail and I absolutely loved working with Fran. She went above and beyond to make sure the dress was perfect and that I had no reservations. She utilized my mom's gown to have a garter made and worked with my mom to make a special surprise gift for me from my mom, which I will cherish forever. Alterations Unlimited also made my veil, which was beautiful. Everything was perfect and you will not go wrong working with them! read more

I've used Alterations Unlimited several times before and had no issues until recently. I took a dress in for a black tie event to be hemmed and to have breast cups put in. The train was supposed to be left on my dress and it was cut off, and the breast cups were tacked in, not sewn. Also, we're they were raked in, they could be seen. By the middle of my formal event, I was continuously having to adjust the cups because hey completely came unattached. Also, on my receipt they wrote it would be $60, when I got there I was charged $86 because they forgot to write something down. I was so angry. I will never take another dress to them. read more

Thanks to Greiner's Store for Men for recommending these ladies to us!! My husband went in to Greiner's with a tuxedo he purchased and had altered (very poorly) at a men's store in Jacksonville. They sent him, forthwith, to Alterations Unlimited. We picked up the finished product this afternoon. To say that it was a transformed garment is the understatement of the year. It is now the fit appropriate for the formal event we will attend in New York. To quote my daughter "It looks like an entirely different tuxedo!" And, my husband will look like a Prince! read more

I had the worst experience for one of the most important events of my life. My wedding dress was ruined by Debby and her team. She had my dress for over three months, waiting for the last few weeks to try to make elaborate alterations, failing to do so. My dress was a tea length dress and she was supposed to just hem it to fit me and add a red tulle underskirt. The red she picked didn't match the rest of my bridal party, and the hem lines were drastically different from layer to layer on the dress. My mothers dress was a strapless dress that was too long, Debby didn't hem it at all and didn't alter the straps to fit my mother at all, as a result her straps where falling all night longer. My sister, my maid of honor's dress was to be hemmed and the v neck tapered to respect her conservative tastes; the dress was not hemmed, the v neck was not tapered, there was a weird gathering on the side seam of her dress and several oil stains on the dress. My other bridesmaids dress was no altered in the v neck of hemmed properly either. This caused a great amount stress and the hiring of someone to come last minute to the hotel suite, ON MY WEDDING DAY, to make adjustments for the dresses to be worn without being too reveling. read more

I wish I could put negative stars. This place is absolutely careless and negligent. I only bought my dress on condition that I could talk to the seamstress the bridal shop (Solutions Bridal) recommended and that she would confirm the alterations could be done. Debbie showed up and talked over me the whole time, said she didn't need measurements at the time, said all alterations could be done, gave me a quote, and was on her way with my dress. At the time I gave her benefit of the doubt because the bridal shop recommended her so highly and I was supposed to come down for two more fittings so I assumed I would be actually "fitted" or measured in some way. No word from them for at least a week (mine was a rush order, which they knew in advance, with the wedding date being first week of November). When I called them to see what was happening, they had NO recollection of who I was or what needed to be done with my dress. Which left me with only 1 week to find an alternate seamstress and beg them to pull off a miracle. Debbie was not only rude and talking over me on the phone again, but they obviously don't know how to put someone on hold, so the whole time I was hearing her and her receptionist loudly talk about how they didn't know who I was or what dress this was that I was talking about. Then she told me to "chill out" and that I "worried too much". The end of the conversation was when she said "I can fit you on Tuesday," and I reminded her MY WEDDING IS ON THURSDAY! Again, she repeated "Chill out, you worry too much, you can pick it up the next week"....meaning....after my wedding I can pick up my wedding dress? Thanks a lot, that's very helpful. I just told her to pack up my dress and have it waiting for me, and NOT TO TOUCH IT. And I promptly found somewhere else that was gracious enough to try and complete my order in very rushed amount of time. I understand I had a complicated order: the dress was a sample and need a lot of work, I am not the easiest to fit due to health issues, my wedding is VERY soon...BUT, these were all things that the bridal shop and the seamstress were WELL AWARE of beforehand, and basically they just gave me lip service to make me complete the sale. So, in conclusion, I would not trust Alterations Unlimited with ANYTHING, and I would not trust Solutions Bridal to have your best interest in mind if they think they can close the sale. Everything else with Solutions Bridal was fine, but I cannot believe that they recommended this seamstress and can only assume they knowingly just said whatever they needed to to get me to buy the dress. read more

stay away from this place , they had my $180.00 for 1 month never called once to say we r running a lil behind , never even called when the shirt was done after 1 month I pop in n the shirt was there done , no called 2 say ,its ready for pick up n and not only that they mess up my shirt , now its to tight , n nothing can b done to fix it , read more

Do not have a suit tailored by them. Small hole in the arm where they took it out. Didn't take it out enough. Inside seam of jacket looked like a child sewed it. Unfinished sewing where they took out jacket. Pants hemmed too long and not even fully stitched when I tried them on. Once they did hem them you could see the stitching all the way around the led about 4 inches up. Was supposed to be done on the 8th. We're still working on it in the 12th when I picked it up. Had them correct most issues on the spot but was in a hurry. Needed to suit the next day so I ended up taking it to someone else to fix their inferior work. Called and she said there was nothing they could do because I needed it ASAP and already dropped off elsewhere. Didn't offer to give any money back or even offer to fix the jacket inside seam when I showed it to her. Will never go back and will tell everyone I know about their lack of customer support and inferior work. -James read more
