The challenge was finding a facility that would not just "house" Mom, but one that would comfort her, engage her, make her feel independent and safe, a loving environment with a friendly and caring "community" of compassionate people, a place she would comfortably call home. Arden Courts Has proved to be like no other facility we've experienced. Never did we think Mom would be comfortable in a "locked" environment. With Arden Courts unique architectural design, Mom is free to independently walk around through courtyards and gardens leaving and reentering at will. Never does she feel cloistered or overwhelmed by "institution" like hallways and corridors. Loud noises from the hustle and bustle of large number of residents and visitors simply does not exist. Arden Courts/ Chagrin Falls is respectful, dignified. The principals and aids are trained expertly at what they do. They know and understand what residents and family are having to go through. With sincerest compassion they guided us through ( what was extremely difficult) the emotional and physical realities of the transition. Day and night we were updated and advised through the moving process. They were so right - all the worry and panic we had was unnecessary. Simply amazing. Never Thought we would get to this point. We are calm and confident Mom resides in the best possible facility of its kind. We visit often with pleasure! She is happy at long last and we are grateful for our new peace of mind.

Mind you, independent care wasn't the greatest, but it is very, very difficult to transfer a loved one with dementia to another facility. Therefore, we are still at Heritage Crossing. We have addressed issues with them several times. I had addressed an issue a week and a half ago in regards to my loved one that her room was filthy. Her bedsheets were filthy and they needed washed. The person I addressed this to was River, which is a new memory care director from what I'm told. My husband also was in contact with Rebecca, which is the director. I myself have tried to call corporate several times. You will never be able to get a hold of them. Ever. They make it so that all you can do is leave a message. UNLESS you are looking to sign a family member up at one of their communities then they will talk to you. Fortunately, I was able to get through with Amy who handles the billing and she was getting in contact with Caitlyn who is a vice president up at Corporate. I had to call Amy back today to let her know that I still hadn't heard from Caitlyn. Amy assured me that Caitlyn would call me back that she is very busy. Mind you, Caitlyn was made aware through Amy what my issues were. But Caitlyn is too busy. I gave Caitlyn plenty of time to call me back. Once you are a resident there and you are paying them $7000 a month for memory care, this is what you are subject to. Please see the pictures below. The first picture is blood and urine on my loved ones bedsheets and linens that have been there for at least two weeks. They have not been washed even after I asked. The napkin that you see on the bed is "stuck" to her bed. The picture of the floor and the toilet... that is feces on the floor and on the toilet seat, there is also dried urine. The clothes... They fold them and then they throw them wherever they can in the room, not organized at all. The room is absolutely disgusting. I have several more pictures that I will be sharing online. This is just one instance. I have several instances. I am absolutely at a loss for words and thoroughly disappointed. Not one person... not one has reached out. Instead, it is going to be my responsibility to clean up after my loved one that I paid them for. Beware before you commit to this facility. Talk with a residents family, especially back in memory care that has been there for a while. You should be able to get all aspects of the community. Not just what they tell you to get you in there.

This facility is mainly for seniors who are not the least bit important to the management…read more Unfortunately, the majority are probably Medicaid residents and therefore the management could care less if they are fed decent food or protecting them from people entering the building through unlocked doors at all times. No one is at the entrance to see who is coming or going. And no one is guarding the side and rear entrances to protect the seniors. They could care less. They know they can just place another Medicaid resident in there to be neglected. We had a friend that lived there and she would meet people there that needed help and she would ask us if we could help them. We are not wealthy, but there is help for all if people would take the time to help. One lady, Angela, invited us into her room to show us that she had no bed, no table, no chairs, no dresser for her clothing. All she had was a blow up bed. My husband and I were able to get her brand new bed with sheets and pillows, a small dining table, chairs, and a dresser for her clothing. As we left her room, she laid down on the bed and said "Thank you God". Now my question is: How could the Regent let her live like that for so long and not do anything about it? Another person who just passed away there recently, had a huge unusable wheelchair that she needed out of her room in order to move around in her new wheelchair. Of course no one there took the time to help her in any way. She had no family that could help her. The only decent people we see who are working there are two young people who clean the rooms. The majority of the employees could care less. God help these seniors. If you have someone who you think needs to live in an assisted living, please think twice about using The Regent in Stow. It is too bad that in this day and age, caring for the elderly is not important at all. If you are able to take care of your family members at home, please do so. I wish I were able to enter a NO stars.

RNs, LPNs and aides are well trained and very stable ( not much turnover). Very clean facility . Food was incredible considering other facilities and menus were what seniors would desire: baked chicken, meatloaf, mashed potatoes , soups etc. Tammi, the facility director is excellent. During Mom's final days especially we were so grateful.

I want to thank them so much for always keeping me up to date on my mom and especially thru this Covid 19 shutdown of nursing homes. They went out of there way to have my mom call me and then facetime me thru this Covid 19. They would call me once a week to keep me up to date on what was happening and now they have staff set up to allow us to do outside visit with my mom. I want to thank all the Nurses, Staff, Dietary Aides and especially the Nurses Aide who work very hard and are very caring. When I was able to visit her there was never a time that I wasn't thankful on how the staff was treating my mom they are very caring, compassionate and not just to my mom but to all the residents. When I had questions they were always answered or someone got back to me right a way. They are my heroes!!

It was very important to me that my mom would be involved in activities to keep her engaged and stimulated so the dementia would stay in check. I was told that the memory patients are just as involved in activities as the assisted living residents. Unfortunately this has not proven true and my mom in a 9 month period has gone from being fairly engaging to mostly just staring. I don't think Kent Ridge is better or worse than other homes in that price range but looking back I'll always feel a sense of guilt that I didn't just try myself to care for her.
