Luckily, I got her medical records and I'm following her physician ( Sue Maynard) to Mt. Airy Family Practice. Mt. Airy Family Practice is located in beautiful West Mt. Airy. Not hard to find with its red awning stating the name. They're still using the safety precautions for covid. You have to ring the bell to enter. A staff member greets you at the door with a series of questions. Have had your covid shot? Exposed to covid? Out of the country? Waiting for covid results? That sort of questioning! And you must wear a mask! Once you get past this, you can enter. They were pretty efficient with the registration process, and taken in to be seen pretty quickly. My daughter has special needs and they were great and patient with her. Special thanks to the young lady that took her blood and gave her a flu shot. So sorry I didn't get her name. Sue Maynard (nurse practitioners) was great as well. Filled out the necessary paperwork that I need with no problem. The only issue is they never mentioned the $15 fee for the paperwork until I was about to leave. I do understand these fees, but please be upfront about them. So glad to be following this practice.

I was impressed that they do lab work right in the office and call also help with OBGYN needs as well. They also have an online portal where you can see lab results and message the provider about questions or request an upcoming appointment. I am also really impressed with the NP who helped me with a physical and vaccinations for school.

They send prior authorizations with missing information which in turn takes an additional day or two to process so if you're in any real pain or need life saving medication expect to wait and or suffer. It's been a couple years since my review, so I thought I'd reiterate how much I love this Dr.'s…read moreoffice. It's still an office owned by Dr. Pedano (and I have still not ever seen or met her). I see a combination of Melanie Santiago, Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Lisa Silvotti and Dr. Diana Rocks, depending on what my issue is and who is available soonest. Melanie and Dr. Silvotti are still amazing, but Dr. Rocks is a fantastic addition to the staff. She is meticulous and careful-- checking things just to be sure, following up just to make sure you are really ok. As an example, I was recently in a pretty bad car accident wherein I probably should have died, but I walked away basically unscathed. I still had a headache and was very sore after a few days, so i went to see Dr. Rocks. She immediately forced me to go to the hospital to get my head and neck checked (did you know you can walk around with some kinds of broken necks? that with the right kind you could be fine and then get nudged by someone or stumble and die?!?!? Neither did I). The secretaries here are also awesome. They are friendly and remember you. They call when they say they will and they always give your messages to the doctors. I have rarely had to wait more than a few days for an appointment, and never more than the next day when i was very ill. I rarely spend more than 10 minutes in the waiting room (and usually only 5 or so). Which reminds me that they recently renovated the front of the office and the waiting room and check-in window are much more spacious and comfortable! As an aside that may not be relevant to most-- i work for the city, and we have byzantine regulations about using sick time-- Dr Pedano's office makes getting paid and certified sick time easy. I was very fortunate to find this office, and count my blessings that they take such great care of me!

It's great for doctors to be nice but, ideally, they have to be competent, and thankfully he is. He has all the traits you want in a doctor - knowledgeable, caring, great listener, and explains things well. Whereas most doctors are rushing you out the door at the end of your appointment because they're already late for their next one, he's one of the very few who has ever asked me if I had any questions about what we discussed. To me, that's huge. Most importantly, although I only saw him twice, I can safely say my health improved under his care. I can't recommend him highly enough.

I have…read moreread reviews dating back to 2013 complaining about staff's negligence--it is apparent that Dr. Gardner does not care as it is 2019 and the issue has yet to be addressed/resolved. I have been a patient here since January and have been nothing but disrespected and inconvenienced. In addition to the blatant lack of professionalism in regards to the way front desk staff treats/speaks to patients, my employment/medical status is at risk due to lack of communication on staff's part--this came AFTER I followed up with the office twice (after not receiving the call backs I was promised) on two different occasions. People come here for help--not to fight and advocate in hopes of eventually receiving help (maybe). My well being has actually declined due to being a patient here, and having my hands tied as other PCPs are booked until the end of the year. PLEASE do yourself and your health a favor and choose a different PCP. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. In my field of work, I've seen parole officers provide better customer service than Gardner Medical Associates Staff. Don't expect any follow ups, phone calls, completed paperwork, or general help overall.
