This was an amazing experience. So cool to see San Diego from above. We highly recommend the crew at Altitude.

Altitude Helicopters is AMAZING. My boyfriend and I were hesitant leading up to our very first helicopter ride after over-thinking helicopter incidents within the past month. My gut sense told me that we need to try this and follow through with our reservations. It was a birthday gift for him, so I already pre-paid for the bottle of champagne and tour before arriving. Make sure you call to book a flight in advance because Altitude Helicopters need to schedule you a pilot. Once I booked my reservations, read the directions on how to enter the air field. Get to the correct gate and read what the code is to enter. It was super simple and easy for us to park right in front of the office. Their office is upstairs and once you get in, it looks like a cute and clean lobby! Immediately, Taylor recognized me as I was the only tour booked that day, and I kept calling him the wrong name on the phone (Dustin.) Jesse, our pilot was already there as well as Don, the owner of the company. We Immediately voiced our concerns over fears of being in the sky and to please make this as gentle and smooth as possible. Jesse knew right away to make this safe and simple and Taylor related this to a "Magic Carpet" as well as what that would feel like. Our cute little red helicopter is like a magic carpet and it's so subtle that you won't feel it at every moment. Taylor got out the bottle of champagne with the glasses for us and Jesse got us bottles of water. He even offered to take our photos in front of our helicopter! He was such a great pilot. He showed us cool places, homes, super personable, and kept us safe! Don't worry, the helicopter has air conditioner and tiny window you can open for air on your door. You'll get a safety spiel to ensure your safety. My boyfriend is about 6 feet and he fit into his seat. It was absolutely wonderful, and I recommend you all to please go to Altitude Helicopters. Please support this amazing company. Jesse is a fantastic pilot. Your ride will be smooth. Purchase a bottle of wine if you want it to be romantic. I got the choice to purchase a glass or a bottle. Choose the BOTTLE! It'll be great to share with you and a loved one. Also, choose the 1-hour tour. It's the best deal and makes for a better gift. It also helps support the pilots!

Awesome aerial tour on a beautiful day! Highly recommended if you are visiting, or even if you are long-time residents, as we are. Seeing the city from the air is a whole new experience. Casey is a superb tour guide and pilot; very capable and knowledgeable.

Awesome experience! My hubby planned a whole surprise for me for my birthday and Don was so helpful with the whole process! Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. Definitely coming back

I will definitely book him again. Great experience.

**Update** Following my recent experience with First Flight, I was contacted by Patrick, who took…read morethe time to address my concerns and ensure a positive resolution. We successfully completed my Biannual Flight Review, during which I gained valuable insights and significantly improved my understanding of aviation communications. Patrick demonstrated a high level of expertise and professionalism throughout the flight. I look forward to flying with him again soon to refine my instrument flying skills. I would like to begin by stating that my experience with First Flight two and a half years ago was excellent. I completed a biannual flight review at the time and found both the customer service and aircraft to be outstanding. My instructor, Ross, was professional, knowledgeable, and created a positive learning environment. Over the following two years, I rented aircraft from First Flight without issue and regularly recommended the organization to many of my colleagues based on those positive experiences. Unfortunately, my most recent visit did not meet the same standard. Three and half weeks ago, I scheduled a biannual flight review with an instructor named Patrick, booking the appointment at the front desk in advance. I arrived on the day of the review 15 minutes early to ensure punctuality, only to find that the instructor was still in the air with another student. I was informed by the front desk attendant that he would be landing shortly and also learned that supposedly I wasn't on the schedule. Forty-five minutes later, the instructor returned and was notified of my presence and scheduled appointment. After waiting an hour, we began the ground portion of the flight review. Due to the schedule shift, we were limited in aircraft availability and could only log 0.6 hours of flight time--short of the minimum one hour required to complete a flight review. Compounding the issue, I experienced problems with my headset and had difficulty hearing both ATC and the instructor. Although I had another headset available, time constraints prevented a swap. To those currently training or flying at First Flight and having positive experiences, I genuinely hope that continues. I view this situation as an unfortunate anomaly and not reflective of the entire organization. As a strong supporter of small, family-owned FBOs like First Flight, I believe they are essential to the health and growth of General Aviation. I want to see First Flight succeed and continue to serve the aviation community well.

We had erroneously done that first, which was a big mistake. Once we quickly changed over to Learn to Fly San Diego, flight scheduling was easier and we trusted every decision the CFIs made to ensure our son was safe in the air and knowledgeable on the ground. All were great guys, great to talk to, all very experienced, competent and patient. I continued to look at other schools, as I wanted to make the best choice for me. So, I booked a lesson, Mark is my assigned instructor. The guy was awesome! I've flown quite a bit previously, this was an aircraft I was not familiar with. Mark gave me a great run down of the plane, and had me do the pre-flight myself, but supervising to make sure I didn't miss anything, which was perfect, I learn best by doing things myself, Mark zeroed in on that, and let me do my thing, and alerted me to anything that I missed and explained it. That was perfect. Mark had me taxi, I was unfamiliar with this aircraft, and a little nervous about it, but Mark zeroed in on that and encouraged me to taxi, and get familiar with the rudder controls, and get the feeling for it. Mark was super patent the entire time and kept giving me information, and also had me using the radio, holding me to performing as PIC, he didn't let me allow my nervousness to hold me back, he comfortably encouraged me to push forward. Which again is how I learn the best. Chris was there, overseeing operations and checking in with me as to how it was going. Again, what a great guy. Both of these men had a great sense of humor, were encouraging. I'm used to flying a very old C172, and these aircraft are very new with very modern avionics that I am not familiar with, but eased me into finding everything. What this did was give me just enough to want to jump back into lessons feet first. What a great day. I'm anxious to have my next lesson with my instructor, and fly as many planes as they offer so I can have experience flying several aircraft They make becoming a pilot lots of fun. Yeah, I got very nervous being in an unfamiliar aircraft, and the modern avionics intimidated me, but Mark kept me busy and hands on, and didn't let me talk myself out of adapting to the modern avionics. A little on the aircraft, it was a very new airplane, very sensitive and responsive to the controls, I'm using to a very old 172 that is like pushing draft horse around, these aircraft respond to a light touch, this is teaching me to fly a modern plane that flies like it is supposed to that didn't make me have to wrestle with the controls like I am accustomed to, which made that plane a pleasure to operate. My only complaint is that it is not my day to fly today! And I want to fly more. I have to pay as I go, so, I'm flying on a budget, yet Chris and Mark are good with that, and have a plan to keep me flying often, and keep on learning. This is exactly the kind of learning environment that I need. I am impressed. I can't speak highly enough about the school or the quality of instruction. This is exactly what I need, as in my not so distant future, I am acquiring my own airplane, and am going to tour 48 states by air. I'll be traveling alone, and these guys are giving me thorough instruction to help me grow into a competent and confident pilot so I can accomplish my dreams. So, if you're looking for a great flight school, with great instructors that are other yet will push you to learn hands on, and flying NEWER aircraft, you'd be hard pressed to find a better school. The school is a very veteran friendly place, treating this old Jar Head like a VIP. SEMPER FI.
