I live in one of the independent buildings and more often then not, we have no hot water. I usually wake up around 2-3am to shower to get some mildly warm, not hot, water. I have complained to management but always get the same answer, "we are working on it". My family is looking to move me as soon as we can find a place. Management should be ashamed, we are all older people living here and pay quite a lot of money, money which includes meals. The food is not good, it is cold and often they don't order enough to give all what we ordered. We have spoken to the chef and the Director, both seem to do nothing. Winnwood Retirement Community is really a community with support and concern expressed in a variety of ways. The campus is beautiful! There are a few things prospective residents need to be aware of. The smell of cigarettes is pervasive throughout the campus--in the dining area, near the entrances of buildings, and sometimes in the parking lot. The smell permeates clothing and affects my breathing. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful. Dinner is inconsistent in quality and in portion size. Dinners are tasty about 80% of the time; sometimes portions are small. The grand piano is beautiful, and I played it often for several weeks last summer. However, the action of the keys is so stiff that my shoulders could not tolerate the physical challenge of playing that piano as it is right now. If the cigarette issue were resolved, dinners were consistently tasty, and the piano were adjusted so that it's playable, I could give Winnwood an unequivocal 5! I can heartily recommend almost all of the people here. It's a pleasant place to live!

It was quite stressful and frightening to realize that we were at this point in her life and would have to trust in others to take care of her. We love the staff and so does our mother. They treat her with such kindness and care. It is such a relief to have such wonderful people care for our mother. They treat her like she is their family member, not just a resident at the property they work at. During COVID, it is especially hard as we are not able to visit on a regular basis and do the things we typically would for her however the staff is always there to assist us in whatever we need. During this disturbing time they have provided my mother and the other residents with a safe and healthy environment and adhere to all the health guidelines. I would highly recommend making this your loved ones new home if you should be looking for an assisted living/memory care property. I was extremely impressed with the facility and location, but it was the staff that really made my decision. They are thoughtful, and love all of the residents. Mom could not be happier as she is very social and loves the multitude of activities. She does not drive anymore, but has plenty of opportunities to go wherever she needs. Mom has already made many new friends so she is never lonely. She is constantly saying how happy she is and how she wished she had moved here 10 years ago.

"There's GOT to be something in between that offers a range.. something beautiful?? YES! There is! THIS IS IT! Live music every week, happy hour, an elegant dining room where he can sit and chill with his friends and laugh... and he laughs a lot! He loves it at The Orchard! Memory care is an absolute nightmare. The floor is like fly paper, they do the laundry, but never even turned the clothes right side out and just stuff them in the drawers, and they have one supervisor that they rely on for seven days a week 24 hours a day. That is an impossible job for anyone and they're too cheap to find extra help. There is very little mental stimulation for the people in memory care. I think it's all about the money and they hope the memory care people don't remember any details to report to their family. The staff doesn't even notice a guest walking in at times. All of them are over in the corner, looking at their telephones. I had walked in more than once to find my family member lying on a bed directly on the plastic! No sheets, no blankets no nothing. We also had numerous pieces of jewelry come up missing from the memory care unit. Granted, we shouldn't have had anything expensive there, but still you like to trust the staff.. Say no to their memory if you love the person you're looking to place there!

This last year during the COVID virus has been challenging for all senior communities. TCW has met the challenges head on, and has been proactive in all areas where needed to continue to keep the residents safe and healthy. From delivering meals directly to each resident, ensuring to screen residents for infection, monitoring and cleanliness, following state mandated guidelines, coordinating that all residents are vaccinated and working daily to keep each resident engaged in the community during a global pandemic, I applaud the staff. There are so.many outstanding and dedicated staff members that have gone above and beyond to ensure the residents quality of life is the best that it can be. In a pandemic, that is no small feat! TCW is a beautiful facility, filled with caring residents. My mother loves this community, the activities, the staff, her lovely apartment and her friends. Just walking in the door, makes you realize that happy residents live here. Thank you TCW staff for all your commitment. So glad that 2020 is over, and the virus pandemic is resolving. The PT team is top tier- very knowledgeable , very kind and eye patient. I could not have asked for a better experience with my in house and out patient care. My strength and movement are improving tremendously based on the great direction and care!
