In that, I mean that there was very little "chat" or personal interaction on the salespersons part and we were left alone for far longer than we wanted. Everytime we had a question we had to go looking for someone who might have an answer or maybe even (If we were lucky) find where our salesperson kept disappearing too when we were literally the only customers in the store. To be clear, It was OK and just OK. In our experience...when trying to support local businesses, we generally find a much higher level of customer involvement by the business. This was most definitely not the case here. The feeling that we got was one of......buy or don't buy....makes no difference to us. For absolutely sure we have received much friendlier and helpful service at the big box stores (Lowe's, Home Depot, Sams Club and Costco) and frankly expected a much better experience than we received from this store which on that day....at that time.....at least appeared to not care one way or the other about us or whether we purchased from them or not. We were in desperate need of the appliances and they were in stock and ready for delivery.....so, minus all the love.....we bought the appliances and gave serious consideration as to whether we would ever go there again. Probably not. Not Mad.......Just Disappointed.

I like when someone like Leah can tell me what they have in stock that fits my needs, and how soon I could get it delivered. I like that Leah can give me a good price, and I like that the price includes delivery, installation, and taking away the old item that I'm replacing. I really like that the item in question (a fridge) got delivered when they said it would, and that there were no problems, or hidden charges. If #1 above resonates with you, HL Snyder is probably not the place you want to shop. Their website has a few options, but you're not going to be able to see their entire selection, and handle everything online. You may have to speak to a person, or go into the showroom. I did go to Bradys that day, they were helpful, but didn't have that machine in stock. I have since purchased the ZTXS4-54 at M&H in Middletown, Matt was wonderful to deal with.

I had my tractor serviced and have had a very different experience entirely. For starters they are 6 months behind in servicing anyone because they have one mechanic someone quit and they don't see a need to replace them. I called in October and I just got a call last week. It has been 4 months. They picked up the machine for service. They informed me the tie rods were broken and it would be 1200 more. I said thats fine proceed. A day later they called me and said another part was broken its 300 and an hour labor. I agreed again. My bill came to 14 hours of labor. The tune up of the entire machine and all its systems was 4. The tie rods and housing were ten? I find out later they had the new helper that is in training working on my machine. The extra part I had to pay for is clearly something they broke while taking it apart which is why I didn't hear about it until the next day. I have tried to find where replacing tie rods is over three hours but cannot. When I asked the technician why so long he responded that well we had to wait for the parts? Was I paying for labor while we waited? My tractor isn't practice for your trainee. How dare you. Worse experience ever. If you are lonely and you want to chat up an old man at the tractor store well then yes this would be the place to go. It's that nice country feel. When I asked the owner why did I have to wait 4 months to get the machine in, his response was well I waited a month and a half for an oral surgeon! Poor dear, you can go to someone else, I needed a kubota dealer and did t really have a choice. Not to mention hey that's your mouth that is disgusting go to the doctor for the love of God. Its that backwoods country bumkin mentality that makes this a dying business. Shame on you. Shame on this. No excuse for a business. 14 hours labor?

I made the mistake of ordering a gas range from one of these giant corporations, and it turned out to be a giant problem. They delivered but couldn't handle the installation, and then they couldn't take the stove with them, and then the guys who came to pick it up were rude and caused more issues, etc. So I did what I should've done, and I called Earl B. Feiden, and they helped me out, and solved my problem. I got to talk to an actual person (thanks Ken!), and I laid out what I needed (a gas range in a non-standard size), and where the potential problem might arise (it needed to be converted to propane), and they handled it like pros. Sometimes it may cost you a little more time and a tiny bit more hassle (if you consider talking to an actual person a hassle, not a pleasure like I do) to go with the smaller shop, but I highly recommend buying local. It worked out for me with Earl B. Feiden. And in the end, the range I got ended up being cheaper than the one from the big box store anyway.

While those repair shops overlook smaller pieces like mine, Rosado Works specializes in giving these items (and larger ones too) the attention they deserve. Luis isn't just a woodworker, but a true artisan. He treated that one specific jewelry case with the respect it deserved, carefully repairing the worn look of it, refreshing the finish and bringing it back to life. Honestly, my jewelry case now stands sturdier- hell, even prettier than I ever imagined. I also brought a green painted chair with metal studs on the seat that needed one of its sticks on the back to be permanently placed. And while I tried using wood glue to hold the stick in place, that stick would hold for about a minute and fall all over again. So I needed Luis' help.
