Woah. This place was niccceeee. We were visiting town for work and were brought here for dinner. The space is beautiful, the front bar is so unique and pretty. The service was fantastic all night. And the food. You get what you pay for, truly. This is a nice spot and the food is drool worthy. Everything about Courthouse Pub was wonderful this evening at our dinner. We arrived at 7pm on a Wednesday night in July. They were busy which was a good sign. We had the cheese curds for the appetizer and my husband had the pork tenderloin and I had the crusted chicken. All of our food was absolutely delicious- served hot, and perfectly seasoned. My husband commented that it tasted like a chef was in the kitchen. Think metropolitan, high-end restaurant quality food! Prices are very reasonable for the quantity and quality. The ambience is charming yet fresh and modern. Very clean. I would suggest to dress resort casual or nicer for an evening meal. The service was attentive and welcoming. There is room for a large group. Outside seating is available, but I wouldn't recommend because it is near a busy traffic light which would detract from the experience. What went well? EVERYTHING!!! My family was in Manitowoc for a funeral. We flooded this place with 21 people, no advance notice. We were quickly seated by smiling staff. We had two servers. My end of the table was cared for by Missy who did an amazing job. The 21 assorted meals all came to the table at basically the same time. That seems miraculous enough but all the food was hot, fresh, and very delicious!! The ambiance of Courthouse Pub is warm and inviting. It's an older building decorated pub style using deep greens, beautiful woodwork, and brass accents. There's a banquet room that could be closed off for privacy called the "Judge's Chambers." Even some of the menu headings played on legal terms. Would we return? A resounding YES! And we did. The very next night for another delightful meal. 10 stars! read more

Service was great. Waitress friendly and efficient. I ordered the Turkey Sandwich. I will say it was unique but it didn't wow me. Told myself i should have ordered the burger but I was feeling adventurous. The wife ordered shrimp tacos which I would never order. She said they were good. Shrimp on a bed of coleslaw tucked into a tortilla shell. She ate about half of it so that tells me what she really thought about it. We were looking for 'WOW' but it could be that we ordered wrong. The food I got was good. It was the bbq burger. Very good flavor medium cook on the beef and the bun was nice and soft. The cheese was melted perfectly I added the upgrade fries and those were pretty good too. Was it worth the extra $3 hmm maybe but if you don't like aoli then prolly not. The meal was $21 so it is a bit in the higher side. Other comparable burgers are out there. Would I come back? Probably just to try the other burgers. read more

A group of us get together & ride bikes from Two Rivers to Manitowoc on the paved trail along Lake Michigan shore. We do this at least once every summer! We always end up at The Courthouse Pub. Love to sit outside and get a bite to eat & a beverage. I look forward to the summer beer Patio Pounder...(I believe it's a Czech Pilsner with Raspberry Lemoncello. It's quite refreshing; especially on a hot humid day like today! Our server, Kayla was awesome. Very patient with the 5 of us! I decided to try the Fish Tacos & French Fries. So good & tasty! This is probably one of if not the best place for dinner on a Friday or Saturday night in Manitowoc! The atmosphere is almost that of a pub style speak easy, very sophisticated and high end. Although there was a large party encompassing majority of the restaurant, there was a seat at the bar I grabbed and service was not compromised at all. Once I sat down, I waited for about 2 minutes until I was greeted and presented with a menu; the 2 bartenders were decently busy. I ordered a few drinks including the sangria and signature raspberry limoncello beer. Both were extremely delicious, a little sweet on the beer, but still very good and even better on a hot summer day. One of the owners and the brewmaster was onsite during my visit and I had the opportunity to talk with him as I also make my own beer. He was very friendly just like his staff and excited to share his creations with new people. The food menu was classic American with a unique twist. For example, I ordered the cranberry apple burger and it was absolutely delicious...exactly what I was wanting and was picturing in my head. All in all, this classic American pub in the heart of downtown Manitowoc needs to be on your list when you visit. Tried something different, so I wanted to give an update to my previous review. I've always enjoyed their steaks, fish tacos (not on menu anymore?) and fish and chips. Tonight I tried something different... I ordered the Osso Bucco. It was great! This pork shank was very tasty and the meat was juicy and fall off the bone tender. Had a family gathering last Thurs to celebrate a retirement, our Dads 75th birthday and Father's Day. With family coming in from Michigan, Ohio, and North Carolina you never know what everybody will want. Every single person (10 people) spoke incredibly positively about the food and the experience. As an update to my earlier review - during my recent trip to Wisconsin to visit family I discovered that Courthouse Pub has a daily buy 1 get 1 free happy hour. Of note, Courthouse Pubs cocktail menu is quite large with a upscale feel to it but at a pocket friendly price due to the 2 for 1 special. During this visit I ordered the "Our Cosmo" and the "Caramel Macchiato" that came to a whopping $8 for both drinks combined!!! Both drinks were well made and oh so tasty. In discussions with the bartender who was quite friendly and talkative (just the way I like them) she told me that if you have a favorite drink and don't see it on the menu she probably could accommodate that too. After this initial round of drinks I was thinking it couldn't get any better than this but that was before I ordered my Classic Margarita and found that it could get better! When you consider the casual comfortable environment that this bar offers and the quality of the drinks and friendly staff, Courthouse Pub is definately a go to spot if you are looking for relaxing drinks with friends. Just another strength of this business to go along with it's first class restaurant (see previous review) that make this a must see restaurant/bar if you are in the Manitowoc area. We visited this place while in Two Rivers for our anniversary. We had a dinner reservation and arrived early, but they were ready to seat us. Our server was friendly and attentive. They even printed a special menu saying "happy anniversary." I love the history of the restaurant building and how it was rebuilt to meet building codes with the original building blue print. Also, the food was delicious!! So many upscale burgers, sandwiches, and entrees to choose from! I had the coconut chicken and my husband had the pork belly miso. I feel like Courthouse Pub is a bit of a hidden gem in Manitowoc. Our food was really wonderful! We started with smoked salmon dip. Didn't want to ruin our appetites, so we boxed up half and I enjoyed it the next couple of days. Next, I had the Briased Pork Belly with a ginger carrot risotto & pea shoots that was oh so tasty. Only downfall is that I didn't speak up to have the server box up the portion I didn't eat. Hubby went with Hanger Steak that he really enjoyed. Now the beers are a bit of a different story. My Agave Shandy tasted like a margarita with rocks, salt & tequila - not super. And hubby's Hopped & Loaded ("double" IPA) was more like a single. All in all, though, a good visit next to the cool architecture of the real courthouse. read more

Right when you walk in you hear and see nothing but a clean electric atmosphere. The front of house is very nice and asks if we need anything and if we want drinks before we sit down for dinner. Our drinks were A+. The wait staff is some of the best in the industry, extremely informative and can describe any dish along with the specials, and make all the right recommendations for what you are looking for. My father and I had the ribeye special and my mother had the salmon. Everything was top notch and worth the price. Compliments to the chef! I only regret one thing, and it's I forgot to take a picture of the food for people to see. This is a place that we go to often for birthdays in our family as a special place to go to, because it is pricey, but worth it. Good place. We stopped for lunch before taking the Badger ferry to Michigan. It was a nice day so we ate outside. Theyt thoughtfully placed us on the shade side of the building. Service was great (although at the end our server got busy with others and was slow in bringing the check). Husband liked the root beer they make themselves. He was very happy with his short rib tacos. I had fish and chips which were fine (too big!). They were good, not great. Side salad was excellent--lots of different greens. We sat at the bar since a table would take 30 minutes. The bartender was nice and extremely helpful when our bill rang up incorrectly. We stopped at the Courthouse Pub on the Wednesday before Labor Day Weekend for lunch on our way to Northern Michigan. What a wonderful little spot. It was a lovely day outside, though a little windy. We had a lovely outdoor spot and felt very Covid safe. Our server was nice and wore his mask properly. The inside of the pub looks lovely and their was hand sanitizer everywhere. We loved their selection of craft beers and they have a wonderful Bloody Mary. We had a lovely chicken salad sandwich with fries - the fries were very good. I also had the chicken chili - sadly a was not a fan because it was more like a tomato soup with a few veggies and a piece or two of chicken in it. It was okay, but not what I consider a chicken chili. I tend to be a fan of white chicken chili that is very heavy on the chicken, so I should have asked more about it before ordering. I hope we have a chance to visit again soon to explore the menu further. read more

Stopped here for dinner after a long day of shopping and driving around. Started with the cheese curds which were so lightly battered which really let the tang of the cheese someone through. They came with a raspberry jam dipping sauce and it felt like a monte cristo sans meat. Excellent! I tried the chicken chili which was a disappointment. It was 97.5% tomatoes, 2% beans and 0.5% chicken. If you're familiar with the Georgia staple, Brunswick Stew, this tasted like a vegetarian version of that minus the corn and Lima beans. It was a sweet and slightly vinegary tomato broth with huge chunks of tomatoes, scant bits of celery and onion, a few stray beans, and in my cup, a single chuck of overstewed chicken. No chili spice. It was edible but a far cry of what you'd expect from the word "chili". I had the BLTO which was essentially a wedge salad with mixed greens instead of iceberg and a delightfully creamy lemon dressing. My only issue is it says onions are in it but these were large chunks of raw red onion to which I channel Scott Conant (as in, I am not a fan). My cousin had the burger which was well cooked and flavorful but no toppings (lettuce, tomato, pickle) except for the cheese and bacon she paid extra for. Very nice atmosphere, love the high ceilings and neat mural behind the bar. Not a bad place at all but just a few too many flaws to make me want to go back. read more

Our group of 17 had dinner there and the whole courthouse pub was done very well with a tie ceilings and nice decor. When we arrived, we were properly man and seated, and then have to wait very long at all. Which one of us enjoyed our meals, along with our second round of drinks. Our whole group was meeting in Manitowoc and we came all from different states. We all had a good time and some of our group wants to go back but instead we've decided to eat at a different place each night. The courthouse is very tempting to go back to. Our first stop for some good eats in Manitowoc this year was The Courthouse Pub. We arrived early evening on a Tuesday. We were greeted and seated immediately. The hostess and our server were great. The interior is classy, but the dress attire is definitely casual. To start off we had dirty martinis. The serving size was impressive. These were not 3 sips and done martinis. Our food choices were fantastic. We went with two prior reviews. Fish tacos with fries for me and the Ol' Smokey Burger- medium, with fries for my husband. I have banned myself from ordering burgers out because I am often disappointed. That would not have been the case here. The one bite I had was juicy and delicious. My husband rated it as a 10 out of 10 for a restaurant burger. We enjoyed everything. No "to carry boxes" required on this night. As with all small businesses these days, I sure hope The Courthouse Pub will be here when we return next year. read more
