This is one of those places if you don't know about it you will drive by it, and regret not going there places. Known for their great drinks, atmosphere, food and staff, this is where you set the bar for the highest of standards. Absolutely great food, we had the ribeye, along with the scallops, my mom had steak and breaded shrimp that she loved . The amount of staff they have on hand is nothing but top tier, and they all work hand and hand with each other like a well oiled machine, very impressive! Schwarz's is your classic Wisconsin supper club. Start your night with an old fashioned and some pull tabs at the large bar. Take a look at the menu, and when you're ready, you put your order in with the waitress, at which time you will be put on the waiting list for a table. Once you make it to the table, salads, rolls, and a relish tray are already waiting for you (the cheesy rolls are the best) and the food comes quick. We get the sirloin for two every time, and when I say it could feed a family of 4 with extras, I'm not kidding. The steak is always cooked perfectly. Flavor is great and we always leave with left overs to feed us for the following days to come. Price is very reasonable and one of the reasons we keep coming back! Start by throwing out the low stars. I've been to dozens of supper clubs and after visiting Schwarz's, I'd put it in the top 10. Classic Scony supper club. Get there early or you'll end up waiting. Don't drink? Too bad; if you don't get there early, you'll wait. Salad bar (which I love), not here. Muddled old fashioned, not here. Cozy atmosphere and solid customer service, definitely in the right place. We arrived with a veteran couple. They got us there early, understood the ordering routine and found us a place to sit. We ordered appetizers and drinks. Definitely get the onion rings as they are incredible! Drinks were solidly poured and reasonably priced. We ordered and were surprised by how quickly we were seated. The vegetable tray and bread basket were good. Our meals came out shortly after we were seated. The salads were nice sized and the blue cheese dressing with crumbles was great. Our entrees (ribeye, tenderloin with chicken, prime rib and fish) were all sized nicely and prepared as ordered. My dining partner said the chicken was some of their all-time favorite. My ribeye was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. Our dining partners loved their choices. Overall, I'd really like to give 4.5 stars, but my pals at Yelp still don't trust half stars. We all enjoyed our experience and will definitely put this on our list of supper clubs to return to! read more

While I had a pretty good experience last year, this year was subpar, for my entire group. My steak was undercooked, and while I can handle an undercooked steak, it just didn't taste super great to me, my groups was fine, but everyone's was undercooked, so if you stop here please keep that in mind. Two in my group got blackened, did not receive that. And one ordered the mushroom melody, and also didn't receive that. But everyone's biggest gripe was the poor service. Throughout the night, we had went through about 3-4 waitresses, and the one that we had the most towards the end was very impersonal-able and inattentive. 4 for experience, 3 for food. If you're going for an authentic supper club experience with locals, this is the place to go to. However, if you're a foodie looking for delicious new foods to try, this isn't the spot for you. Clientele generally consists of older folks and multi-generational families, which worked for us since my group consisted of me, my dad, hubby, and 6-year old daughter. Instructions: As others here mentioned, you immediately find your own seat in the huge bar area directly to your right and all to the left of the entrance--the "bar" includes bar stools as well as the multitude of tables and booths that are visible from the bar. Waitresses walk around (generally they wear black) and pass out menus to newcomers--no need to flag them down, they'll see you. To order drinks, you walk up to the bar and then carry your drinks back to your table; drinks are affordably priced. There are some arcade games to occupy the kids, including one that we love, which is a rubber duck "winner every time" claw game for $1--easy activity and something to help your young'n happily pass the time. Waitresses then come by to take your appetizer orders (which can be either enjoyed at the bar, or when you are seated in the dining room), and your entree orders, and ask you for your group name (you can give a name or a fun saying--when we were there, a group called themselves "The Over 85 Club"). All entrees include your choice of soup or salad (and choice of dressing), and potato (baked, broasted, fries--I recommend fries, as broasted is a bit flavorless though has a nice texture). When your entrees are almost ready and they are ready for you to sit in the dining room, they will call your group name over the speaker system. Take your drinks and apps and head over to the opposite side of the bar and greet the hostess. Your dining table will be fully equipped with your soup or salad selections and some raw crudite (typical for supper clubs, and perfect for my carrot sticks and plain black-olives-loving daughter). [Any additional] appetizers and entrees arrive promptly thereafter. Broasted chicken ($18 for half a chicken) was rather bland and could have been more juicy. So I requested bbq sauce (which to my pleasant surprise, arrived warm!), which was desperately needed for my chicken. On the plus side, the chicken was not oily, the breading was light, and my daughter happily ate the simple white chicken meat, so it was easy for her to get some protein! Hubby ordered the 16oz tenderloin ($52), which was cooked properly, however interestingly was served as two 8oz pieces and was really bland--had to add salt. Dad ordered fish & chips ($26) which he said was a bit too salty (though I didn't think so). Overall, love the authentic supper club experience and dining with locals. Friendly, welcoming service. But, would generally only come back here if accompanied by my daughter's grandparents. read more

If you love the chaos of a small town supper club on a Saturday night, this is the one. We stopped in with some friends and it was a solid 3 hour event. The place was packed to the brim that you could barely move but we stuffed out way to the bar and got some old fashioneds. Always amazing. Played some pull tabs while we waited for our order and had some apps. Food here is great always, though if they did a ribs and chicken combo that would be delightful. But alas I suppose I'll choose. Great relish tray and salad. Service is usually good, though our last visit our server checked on us maybe twice and no water refills until we flagged someone down. Walked in, albeit on a Saturday night at 5:00, a crowd going out the door. No hostess. Chaos. Confusion. Had to ask a customer at a table what to do. (order a drink. get a menu. raise it in the air when you want to order, then wait.) To be fair, it was kind of fun in the bar area, nice people but after an hour or so we were sent to a distant table with a very remedial 'salad' waiting for us and a lazy susan assortment that had seen better days. Then, it gets worse. I ordered a broiled chicken that was naked. I'm not exaggerating...as naked as a jaybird. Not one special or remarkable thing about this. We had looked forward to going to this place. I'm truly not trying to knock it, as it will do fine without us. Just very disappointed. read more

What a great place! The system is great: they take your order in advance, so by the time you get seated, salads and/or appetizers are on the table. This is highly appreciated as this place is extremely busy on a Saturday night. We got there at 5pm and the bar was full...and also the waiting area. The layout of the restaurant is interesting; divided in rooms that you don't see until you get to your table. The menu is great, and the service is even better. Drove an hour on a recommendation for a great steak; really wish we hadn't. As plenty of others have stated weird seating and ordering routine, if you don't look them up first you have no idea what you are doing. You walk in and are smack in the middle of the waiting area with no direction; but ordering was quick and staff was pleasant. Other reviews state they ordered drinks at the bar while waiting, we were told by a bartender we could only order alcohol anything else had to be ordered once we were called to our table. So we sat around with nothing to drink waiting to be called. Prime rib, 16oz tenderloin (arrived as 2-8oz pieces??), Sirloin for 2, and 2 chicken dishes were ordered. None of the steaks had any flavor whatsoever (even though their website boasts "delightful journey through flavors"), nor did they have a sear: so no good coloring at all. The broasted chicken was ok, but the broiled chicken was not seasoned either. Oh and the fries weren't even salted. I'm not sure where the flavor was, but it wasn't at this place. read more

You start by walking in. If you can get in the door, you'll have to squeeze past other patrons to get a bar table or seat at the bar. There are no reservations taken. You have to flag someone down to get a menu. Then you have to order first to reserve your spot in the cattle line for the meal. They call you name overhead, and once again squeeze through the crowd where the head waiter (I use loosely) tells you, not walks you to your table, tells you, which number is your cattle trough. They're known for great steaks? I'm not sure why. The medium rare steaks my wife and I ordered had raw spots in them. These steaks are sous vide, basically boiled in a bag, then given a quick sear, to save time, but not flavor. This is definitely not a date night destination. Save your money. Better yet, travel a few miles north to a great supper club that takes reservations and has a real soup and salad bar! You won't be disappointed by this place! read more

We came just shy of 3 hours to try out the infamous Schwarz's! We arrived just at 4 on a Saturday, and the parking lot was stuffed full already. Their bar opened at 3. We walked in with a dozen other people and it was already difficult to scoot around everyone. When you arrive, the bar is a giant V shape. You can go to the right, which is toward the dining room area OR you can go to the left. Along the left side are a few booths and tables for waiting. If you follow the left side along the bar, you'll come upon an entire side room further to the left. Full of tables and booths to sit at. Could definitely have a cocktail waitress or five! We got a drink right away, since we didn't know much about the ordering process before going. I asked the bartended how we order, and she said to look for a lady with menus. It took a while to get one to even LOOK at us to get a menu from. Luckily, we didn't look over the menu beforehand and really already knew what we'd be ordering. When I finally caught a hostess to ask how she knew whose order she would take next, she said, you have to put your menu in the air so she knows you are ready. I replied with we didn't have any, but we were ready anyways whenever she was. She took our order right then and there. They ask your name and party number. Then when your table is ready, they will announce it over the loud speakers. We were told it would be an hour before we go to our table, but it's wasn't even a half hour! I think stopping her and knowing what we wanted really helped speed up our time. But we didn't know the process, and it's not mentioned anywhere! When your name is called, you follow the V Bar off to the right from the entrance and toward the dining room. There is a desk before you enter the dining area and you check in there to see which table you are at. Your salads are all there waiting for you, paired with a classic supper club relish tray and rolls. We had scallops, prime rib, baked potato and fries. Everything was very yummy and our waitstaff were so attentive. I love seeing them work together! Even the teens cleaning off the tables were noticing our water glasses were empty and stepped in to help. Only place it lost a star is the lack of organization with ordering. I know it works for them, but could very well simplify it for both them and the customers by mainstreaming it a bit. A few hostesses looked distressed, but I would be too if everyone was stopping me constantly for menus and to see when they can order or what the process is. Definitely a good one to experience once, but I would hate to navigate the craziness with any additional people in our party. read more

The prices keep going up and the quality of the food keeps going down. Ordered a steak. Waitress was still at table as I cut into it. The outside was almost burnt and the inside was blood red and cold. She even commented that it didn't look right and said she was going to order another one for me. Second steak came out looking good on outside, but cutting into it was still blood red and cold. Because I waited so long for my food being done twice and was still not good, waitress brought me prime rib. I couldn't even eat it as it was so fatty. She asked me if I wanted to take it home, and I refused and said it was nothing but fatty and awful. The only good thing was that they did not charge me for the meal. read more

It's the typical order at the bar, have a few old fashioneds and get called to your table when it's time to eat. Our group suggested I had to have the cowboy ribeye. They've really got it down here. They staff is a well oiled, hustling machine. You wait in the bar until you're ready to order and stand the menu up to let them know. They take your order and call you when you're table is ready. You sit down to your salad, rolls and relish tray waiting for you--followed by your delicious meal. Everything we had was delicious. We opted for: Prime Rib, Walleye, Lobster, Rib Eye with sides of baked potato, french fries, and onion rings. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. As always, the perfect way to end any supper club meal is with a Brandy Alexander or Grasshopper. We always share one and opted for the Brandy Alexander. Interesting visit. You order at the bar which we've seen at other places. However, no one really explains the process unless you explicitly ask. They also didn't have the vegetable and potato options on the menu so we had to ask after that. The bartenders seemed over it real quick. They must have regulars primarily who know exactly what to do. It was tough to come prepared since they don't have a food menu on their website. Once your salad is at the table, they call your name over a loud speaker so you know to seat yourself in the dining room. They had bread and a relish tray at the table, too. After we finished, our meals came out pretty soon. The first few bites were good, but they serve the entrees on metal plates to keep the meal warm which continues to cook the steak. By the end, the sirloin was well done and tough to eat. Our server stopped by to check in on things but also didn't seem that invested. Now that we know what to do and what to expect, it might be a better experience next time but we're not in a hurry to go back. Relish tray was very good and the salad with blue cheese was at least average but the Prime rib was outstanding! Then the coffee and the white chocolate blue berry cheese cake was to die for! Don't expect to sit down and relax. First, you have to order dinner at the bar. Then you have to stand at the bar and get your own drink and carry it into the dining area when your table is ready. WEIRD. It's more like a production line than a pleasant dining experience. There are several waitresses, the food comes too fast and IT WAS COLD. The twice baked potatoes and prime rib were COLD!!! The salad was good except that the carrots and they were indistinguishable from the cheese so I kept tasting carrots and couldn't enjoy it. The bread was cold, too. And if the food wasn't bad enough, we were one of only three diners and they sat us in front of the kitchen door. It was totally unpleasant. The waitress dropped the leftover (still cold) potato upside down on the table cloth and scooped most of it into the doggie bag. And it was over in less than an hour!!!!! They processed us out of there as fast as possible. We drove 30 miles for this. read more

The supper club experience is so legit here. Walk in, get a drink, peruse the menu while having another drink, order your meal, have another drink or two and when your table is ready, sit down. By the time you have another drink and salad, your meal arrives. I have had the tenderloin as well as the prime rib cooked medium rare. Both are some of the best pieces of meat I have ever eaten. First time visit on a Wednesday evening. Arrived around 4:30 and enjoyed two drinks at the bar. Did not understand the meal ordering arrangement, but the young bartender was patient and kindly explained what to do. We ordered an appetizer and order of onion rings in addition to two medium rare ribeye dinners. When we were called to our table, we sat down to two average lettuce salads, plastic prefilled cups of salad dressing, a basket of Parker house style rolls, not warmed, and an unnecessary relish tray of pickles, olives, and mini corn cobs. As I began to butter a roll to begin to eat my salad, a young man brought over a tray which contained all of our food order at once. Everything was dropped off at the same time. There was not a square inch of open space on our table. Calamari appetizer, onion rings, ribeye steaks and baked potato on metal platters, a tiny cup of prepackaged sour cream for the potato. Salad, bread basket, foil wrapped butter, relish tray, water glasses, cocktails....it was all there. As I moved my steak to the side of the table to eat my salad and hopefully enjoy the calamari appetizer, my eyes searched for our waitress. She was there, but suspiciously flitting around from table to table and never once acknowledging us. I was hoping to ask Abby K to put our steaks under a warmer for ten minutes so we could enjoy the salad and appetizer, but no such luck. Steaks and potato cooled off by the time I was ready to eat it, so main course went home in a box. After reading other Schwarz Supper Club reviews the next day, it appears this is their customary serving style. Apparently many fans find the "controlled chaos" here to be just wonderful. But it definitely is not for my DH and me. Food was average to good....nowhere near the raves as best supper club in Wisconsin by a long shot. Service at bar was excellent.
