We had a great night at the Prime Steer Supper Club!! To preface- this is my first ever true Wisconsin supper club experience. We walked in to the large 360 degree bar. We chose a spot facing the entrance which was fun because we could watch the bar tender and see what types of drinks other patrons were ordering! I saw alot of old fashioneds being ordered. Of course, I followed the trend and did the same. I ordered mine sour it was great! Watching him make mine and by the taste, I could tell they make their own sour mix. It added a uniquely sour, yet flavorful touch. My friend ordered a dirty martini that was also perfectly made! Not to mention, they have homemade seasoned pretzels at the bar. Seasoned pretzels and an old fashioned was a great way to start this experience. We ordered our meals at the bar and then were given a number that correlated to the table we were to sit at. I had no idea this was how supper clubs worked but I liked the idea of sitting down on our own time. We were having so much fun at the bar that we didnt make our way to the table until our second drink. When we got to our table our salads were already waiting for us! I got the house salad with blue cheese. Although a simple salad it was delicious! The blue cheese dressing was super good- if thats your thing I would definitely recommend ordering. I also got the french onion soup which was amazing. Perfect ratio of soup to bread to cheese. They also serve bread when you sit down. I tried to avoid eating too much bread but found myself eating two slices. I got the perch as my entree. It was a large portion of fish, battered and fried served with tartar sauce. My friend ordered the steak and that was cooked to perfection too! I was told that when here you have to get a grasshopper drink on the way out. So I followed their recommendation and did. It was so good and I don't even like mint that much! It was served in a small martini glass. Overall I would 100% go back to and recommend the prime steer. read more

I don't throw around 5 star ratings. Truth be told, I'd like a 4.5 star rating but my friends at Yelp don't trust me with half-stars. We didn't initially plan to go to the Prime Steer; but the restaurant we called claimed to have a long wait. I'm glad they were full because it gave us a chance to check out a restaurant that we've long talked about going to. This is what you want your Wisconsin supper club to be; good drinks, good food and great service. While the building and dining room won't make the cover of Architectural Digest, the drinks, food and service will bring you back. I was immediately impressed by the friendliness and efficiency from the bartender. She poured good drinks and the prices were reasonable. No, the old fashioned wasn't muddled, but it was a good drink. Our waitress rocked it. She proclaimed to be a newbie and apologized for being slow. We didn't mind the pace of the evening and liked learning more about the restaurant from the waitress. Myself and a dining partner both had the T-bone steak. We agreed they were perfectly cooked and well seasoned; however, they were a little bit tough. Not enough to complain. Another dining partner had his usual French fries and cheeseburger. He said they were both delicious. Our other dining partner had a combo of broasted chicken with a tenderloin. They said it tasted great and the steak was flavorful and properly prepared. A salad and cup of soup preceded the main meal. I enjoyed a cup of seafood chowder. Two others had the French onion. They said it was just good, not great. A basket of bread also came with our meal. Overall, we enjoyed our first trip to the restaurant. Quality service and reasonable prices go a long ways in our book. While there was some room for improvement, we will definitely give it another try in the future. read more

It was a wait, but not excessive. The food was very good, nice portions, moderately price. I recommend.

We had our mother's 86th birthday party there last night. It was wonderful. The drinks and food were fabulous and so we're the employees! We had terrific service. We were a party of 17 that came in on a Friday night. They were more then willing to take us. The seafood here along with a lot of other things was to die for. It is hard to keep a large group of people 100% happy, but we all were. Highly recommended. Will definetly return soon. We all couldn't have been happier! read more

We were told a 45 min wait but was less than that - surprised for a Saturday night. Special was prime rib, which my friend ordered as rare. Was a little more done than rare but was very good. I had the ribeye & king crab legs combo. I was able to have my steak Cajun seasoned which made it even better! Cooked perfectly to medium rare. Crab legs were delicious. Small salad bar but has a nice variety of toppings, veggies & salads. Warm bread served at the table. Ice cream after dinner drinks not made with a blender. Absolutely fantastic place. The food was as good, or better, than any other supper club. The service was better than any restaurant I have visited. Bar and table service were A+ without question. I want to give a shout out to the four employees running the supper club that actually did a really good job for us tonight. The steaks were very tender. The bartender was only on his second night into the great job of making our drinks. The salad bar was a truly classic supper club salad bar with some great spreadable cheeses. This is the classic WI supper club. Good well seasoned sirloin steak and a decent salad bar. Could have used blue cheese dressing on it. Some of he steaks looked to be expensive but was happy with value on the sirloin. Beer was priced right as I had a Spotted Cow from New Glarus for $4. read more

Food was kind of blah, ordered steak and broiled haddock, not a lot of flavor, steak was ordered medium well, but was pretty red, Waitress noticed about 10 min. in that I wasn't eating it and then asked if I wanted it cooked longer, told her no, I would take it home. Haddock had no flavor, salad bar was average. Husband ordered seafood platter, lobster was excellent, the rest again really bland. The Prime Steer Supper Club is a classic Wisconsin supper club. It looks a little plain from the outside and the area is a little industrial. It lacks the rustic charm of some other supper clubs I have been to but this recently renovated club is clean, warm and inviting. We sat at the bar and listened to the staff greet many of the customers by name. There was some friendly banter going on and a feeling of family was in the air. The salad bar was simple but with a few surprises that made it interesting; potato salad, cole slaw, chopped liver and peas in sour cream, for example. A few more salad ingredients would have been nice. Our steaks arrived sizzling on a platter. My tenderloin was delicious and perfectly medium rare, my husband's t-bone was tender, cooked perfectly but could have used a touch more seasoning but hey, it's a Wisconsin supper club - basic good food is what you expect. We had many choices of potato and no one forced me to have any asparagus or other "crap" on my meal, per another reviewer's complaint. read more

The steak was absolutely horrible. We couldn't even chew through it. The vegetables were frozen. The hollandaise sauce was clumpy and taste like it came out of a can. The waitress was not well trained. We had ordered onion rings that were cold. It was just over all a horrible experience. read more

First of all I didn't want asparagus and other crap on my meat, they said no you have to have it on there. The coke had an odd taste like they need to change a filter, water tasted fine. Service is okay. Food is horrible! The combo platter consist of an undermined cut of meat. I have no idea what is was with the grains going in all directions. It was tough, over cooked and had zero seasonings. It came with 4 shrimp from the freezer and their idea of California veggies which are a small bowl of limp, overcooked cauliflower, and under cooked carrots with zero seasonings and also from your local grocers bargain freezer section.
