Had such an amazing time in Argentina with AltruVistas tours! The experiences were extraordinary with expert curation by Malia! She takes the time to personalize your trip and does an excellent job making the visit memorable and fun. I cannot say enough about what a fantastic time I had on this wonderful trip to Argentina!

I went on a trip with Malia of Altruvistas to Cambodia and Laos during the Summer of 2014 and it was the trip of a lifetime! I didn't have much prior travel experience and she made it very easy, managing all the logistics from the Visas to the meals, to each day's events. This was so important as I was a traveling in a place where the language and the customs were so very different than my own. Everything was meticulously taken care of, I just needed to simply show-up with an open mind and enjoy the trip. Malia's long time travel experience and knowledge of global affairs made my trip educational. A highlight was our visit to the Landmine Museum in Cambodia which profoundly effected me by deepening my awareness of what had been done there. We connected with nature and culture, from visiting reserves for endangered species to climbing steps to sacred sites. Personally, Malia is very kind and considerate which helps ease any of the normal traveling experiences that call for more patience. I highly recommend working with Altruvistas. I am excited to be traveling with them again in 2015, this time to Cuba.

I walked in and the travel agent did not even make eye contact, instead, the customer that she was with smiled at me as I went by. After sitting for 15 minutes and reading through an entire magazine, still no one came out to at least say, "I'll be with you in a minute." I walked out without a backwards glance. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! I would definitely not patronize this business.

I have been a loyal customer to Travel - Travel for the last 9 years. In February/16, I contacted…read morethe Services of the owner, Angela Bastian and asked her to help me plan a trip to Nigeria, Africa. She appeared to be willing and knowledgeable about this trip. I gave her all the documentation that she had asked in order to send me in a safe manner. Busy people usually, hire a travel agency due to time, and trust their experience and professionalism. The day came and she called me to let me know that all documents ready for me to pick up. My Visa to Nigeria, tickets, reservations and insurance. I came to the agency and got my envelope, paid in full all the cost of my trip. On March 18th, I head to San Francisco Airport to start my exciting journey. My flight was from SFO to Atlanta, GA and Atlanta to Nigeria. While I was about boarding the plane to Nigeria, an Immigration agent called me and put me on the side. He told me that my visa was completely wrong. I did not have the right visa to Nigeria and for this reason; I could not leave the United States. I was very frustrated, scared and did not know what to do. I called Angela, owner of Travel-Travel and she did not do much, just say sorry, when she knew that I was traveling by myself, it was midnight and Angela did not helped at all. Since this happened on a Friday night, I had to stay in Atlanta for the weekend in order to go to the Nigerian Consulate in that city. I called her, she asked me to save all receipts related to this issue, and that the Agency was going to pay for those expenses. I was emotionally distress, frustrated, and lost a reservation for the first night that I had paid at the 4Points in Lagos, Nigeria. On Monday, I went to the Nigerian Consulate, and process a same day speed Visa, I could rebook my flight for that night and after that horrible experience, I start enjoying my leisure time. When I came back, early April I submit my receipts for the time I was stuck in Atlanta, due to Angela Bastian terrible mistake and inexperience. She kept pushing and postponing my reimbursement with a number of excuses. The total amount of my reimbursement, including the right visa, was $790.00 USA. On September 8th, I went to pick up my check and she only had a check for $400.00 USA, with a "Love Letter", that is how she called it... A letter saying that the money came out of her pocket and could not cover more.... Sorry. She never gave me back my receipts that supported my reimbursement and when I went to the travel agency once more, to have a friendly agreement, she told me that she did not have time for me, she was busy preparing a Cruise event. PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT HIRE THE SERVICES OF THIS AGENCY. THEY DO NOT HONOR LOYALTY, RESPECT AND do not know the word RISPONSIBILITY.

Ellen has an incredible ability to tailor experiences, which makes each trip feel uniquely mine. She always finds the perfect balance by incorporating culinary, cultural, and art experiences that I love, along with athletic and outdoor activities that keep things active and engaging. It never feels one dimensional. I've used BT's services to book trips to Africa numerous times. Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Uganda are just a few examples.. Each destination has offered something completely unique, and Ellen has hit the itineraries right out of the park. Gorilla trekking in Uganda was a once in a lifetime experience, and visiting the Skeleton Coast in Namibia felt like stepping into another world. In Botswana, I was lucky enough to see leopards up close, which is so rare and exciting! I have also vacationed in Tahiti three times, and each time has been magical and different! Most recently, my husband and I just got back from an incredible trip to Rangiroa, and we are already talking about exploring more islands on our next visit. Looking ahead, I am starting to plan a trip to Japan, and I will definitely be working with Boutique Travel again to put together the itinerary. Their attention to detail, creativity, and ability to truly understand what we are looking for makes every trip seamless and unforgettable. Highly recommend!

November 15, 2024…read more Last year, in November of 2023, we booked a trip to South America (Argentina, Amazon cruise, Quito and the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador). It was a complicated itinerary, and we gave it to our travel agent, whom we had known and trusted for over thirty (30) years. She somehow looked to Vaya Adventures. We had never heard about them, but trusted her. Bad decision. Vaya Adventures is composed of charlatans. Their office is in Berkeley, CA, with no representatives in Argentina, only vendors. The CEO of Vaya Adventures is not stable, hysterical, unable to make rational decisions. He left us stranded in Argentina, at a time when we were already seventy-six (76, R. G.) and eighty-four (84, J. G) years old. We had to make our own arrangements to go back home. He cut us out of the Amazon, Quito, and Galapagos destinations, and refused for over an entire year to return the money for the unused portion of the trip. Please, please, if you plan a vacation in South America, do not do it with Vaya Adventures. It will save you a lot of heartache and also a lot of money. They are not even registered with the Better Business Bureau, so no one knows objectively about their financial status or their performance. They have a glowing web page, but do not trust it.
