I reached out to them to get a $650 dress slightly adjusted and hemmed. This was not a complicated…read morealteration as I as assured by the professional I ended up hiring (about 2h of work). Susan quoted me over $1200 for this adjustment, and when I said this was more expensive than my dress cost, I received the most unprofessional and rude response and was quite taken aback. "Yes, we pay humans who live and eat and pay rent in the United States, which is very different from the people who made your dress so it is usual that for dresses under $1000 alterations cost more than the dress. Good luck with your hunt." They don't know where I got my dress from, and I'm also someone living in NYC and doing my best. I think people are allowed to charge what they want or think their skill is worth, but I also think the wedding industry has lost their minds. I found an independent professional who did a beautiful job and charged a fair price. I have other dresses to be adjusted until my big day, and had considered saving them if I needed help for my main dress which will be more expensive, but based on this rude and entitled response, I already know to never go back to this business again.

They have many styles and were so accommodating, pulling styles for me and showing things that I may like but have not considered. I ended up with a dress that was pulled out last! Also, I went in thinking I would buy a dress I previously tried on at a separate place and they were able to order it for me if I ended up deciding that I wanted that style from Allure. They are able to order dresses and are very honest with the time it takes to make and get delivered. Another thing to note is that they were not predatory at all which was so refreshing. I had a couple of experiences where I felt pressured to make a decision on the spot and then received many texts after asking me to make a choice which Ira did none of. Overall, a great experience and I was also sent home with an unexpected bottle of Prosecco to celebrate which was the cherry on top!

No alterations are done at the store so you have to pick up your dress and cart it around to find a seamstress. It was clear she kept everything I said in mind with each dress she brought out. She also made a thoughtful effort to stay close to my budget. I came in with low expectations, knowing many of the dresses I had seen online were priced higher than what I was hoping to spend. But I could tell she was doing her best to be mindful of both my financial and stylistic needs. There were a few moments between rounds of fittings where my friends and I were waiting and I felt like the momentum dipped a bit. At the time I wished things moved along more smoothly, but in hindsight a little rest between rounds wasn't so bad. The dress selection is more limited compared to some other bridal salons since they carry their own line, but the dresses they do have are beautiful and very true to the Grace Loves Lace style. I appreciated the follow-up communication with my measurements and favorite style/accessories. I ultimately went with a different dress, but I had a really lovely experience and appreciated how kind and helpful Alli was. I had been to places before but never alone as I wanted to focus on what I actually liked and Alli, along with the other women working, were extremely supportive! Highly recommend!
