My terrible experience with Lotus Bridal culminated with me wearing just undergarments and sobbing in their fitting room because my dress didn't fit the week of my wedding. It's taken me months to write this because I've been so upset, but I'm finally ready to share a glimpse into my nightmare experience - future brides I cannot stress enough that you should NOT buy your dress at Lotus. Mislead on the Sales Floor: The day I bought the dress I was told lies about the dress including what the sleeves would look like once my version of the dress came in. The sales associate also misled my mom who bought the dress for me to tip her 20% of the total price of the dress equating to hundreds of dollars. Wrong Size: In a tactic I have to assume was utilized in order to over-charge on alterations, the sales associate ordered my wedding gown several sizes too big and assured me it was fine when the gown first came in. However, once the dress came in and I was finally able to meet with a seamstress (making appointments was extremely difficult and the staff were extremely inflexible) she told me the dress was too big to alter. Buying The Floor Sample: With just weeks to go until my wedding, I was forced to return the dress I purchased and instead buy the floor sample I had originally tried on. Alterations Were A Disaster: Even after buying the floor sample, alterations were a mess. I couldn't get appointments and the women altering my dress kept calling out sick from work. The work done on my dress was left up until the very last day possible it could be completed and it was a rush job. The bust was too big and my bra was visible, the sleeves were too tight and uncomfortable, the buttons were loose and popping off because of the old floor sample, the lace was uneven and I was miserable. I did not look how I wanted to look on my dream wedding day. The Worst Part: The owner kept telling me all of these issues were my fault because I had lost weight. She even lost the undergarments I was supposed to wear with the dress and tried to convince me some other girl's undergarments were mine. The people who own Lotus Bridal should be ashamed of themselves. I have such negative memories of the days leading up to my wedding and on my wedding day that I haven't even printed out a single photo of myself from the day. For all the stress and heartache the company gave me NOTHING back. Don't give these people your business and don't risk the stress and upset I felt by shopping there. read more

I highly recommend that brides visit the Lotus Bridal boutique in Brooklyn. Stephanie was the employee who attended me and she was so incredibly sweet. For my first ever bridal store visit & not knowing what to expect, i was a bit nervous going alone hoping it wasn't an overwhelming experience. Stephanie made me feel so comfortable and was not pushy trying to make a sale. She was patient, attentive and was able to answer my questions. The store itself is very small, seems like only 2 brides can try on dresses at the same time on the first floor which makes for a very personal and individualized experience (not sure if there's another floor though). I visited the boutique already knowing the style of dress i was looking for. They have a decently sized collection but I would recommend browsing the website as i did and submitting an inquiry on the Lotus Bridal website to see which location carries the style of dress you are looking for. I love the intimate feel of this bridal salon! I found my gown pretty quickly online and called around to different salons to see which one had it in store. I tried it on at Lotus mineola and bought my wedding and wedding shower gowns from the Brooklyn location. The intimate feel sold me. Also, there is a lot of metered street parking available. Shoutout to Olivia and Valerie for being the ABSOLUTE BEST bridal consultants EVER. I came by here with my sister to choose THE dress for her big day and it was the most pleasant experience. On our first visit, we were greeted by Olivia, who literally is the SWEETEST. She makes cotton candy seem bitter because she is SO sweet and attentive. We tried on a couple of dresses and Olivia made sure to let my sister try on different veils and offer different recommendations, all while staying in the discussed budget. She was not pushy at ALL about buying the dress and you could tell she really does care about making sure you pick the perfect dress for your special day. Upon our second visit, we were assisted by Valerie, who was also extremely helpful and understanding. I had only visited one bridal store in Queens and had to cancel my initial appointment at Lotus Bridal. I am so glad I re-scheduled! It was easy to get to from Queens and had ample residential parking. I scheduled my appointment for 11am. Along with myself, there were about three other ladies that had 11am appointments that arrived with their entourage so it was a full house. I was a bit nervous because the place is not huge. However, It was an awesome experience. I worked with Jessica as my bridal consultant. She was kind, patient, and mindful of what I wanted. She quickly understood my vision and helped me find my dress!! I never felt rushed or confused because she answered all my questions and concerns. The prices are reasonable and I found my dress! I will say if you are looking for your dress, check out Lotus Bridal and give yourself ample time to find your dream dress to avoid any rush fees. I would say give yourself at least eight months. Alterations can get pricy but she did do a great job with my dress! Seamstress is at the same address, on the 3rd floor. I would recommend this place if you are looking for your dream dress and want reasonable prices. read more

Can only rate 4 stars due to a faux pas - the consultant believed a sample dress could be let out...but as I was almost about to hand over the money, she got confirmation she was wrong. She offered to grab the seamstress to be 100 percent and I'm really glad she did because then I'd be up a creek. Due to this - my consultant texted later that night and the next day some other dresses they had in stock that she thought I may be interested in but didn't get to see in my appointment time (although I saw a bunch there) either because we didn't get to them or because they were at their other location and would need to be pulled over to the Brooklyn location. I had an AMAZING experience with Olivia, my bridal consultant, and my family. I had tried on dresses for the first time at a big name retailer who's name doesn't deserved to be dropped in this review and it was not the great experience i thought i would have. My experience at this sweet and personable bridal boutique was amazing. I looked through their look book prior to my appointment and already knew which type of dresses i wanted to try on. There was one dress in particular that i had fallen in love with on the website. Olivia chose some gowns for me based on our phone consultation the day before which was also amazing. We hit it off over the phone, i felt like i was speaking with a long time friend. I told my family that i felt very good about the appointment because of the initial consultation we had the day before. When i got there Olivia was great in person. She was very attentive and really listened to what i told her i liked and didn't like the day prior. I had to step into the dress on my own because of COVID but Olivia helped me make the dress presentable. As soon as i put it on i felt like a bride; i didn't feel this way at all in any of the dresses i tried on at the other place. I turned around to show my family and their faces lit up. As i stood in the dress longer Olivia showed me that i could add detachable sleeves which made my dress look even more beautiful and unique. Olivia put the veil on that she pairs with that dress usually and I instantly fell in love. It made me cry because i really felt like a bride. It was a beautiful moment with my loved ones on FaceTime. My mother said Olivia made her feel like she was there even tho she wasn't. Olivia was great and i highly recommend her. The room we tried on dresses in was very intimate which made the experience even greater. One would think there isn't that much on Avenue U to begin with besides 99 cent stores, pizza joints, and random Chinese stores, but then there's Lotus Bridal in the middle of it all. The atmosphere inside really is trying much too hard to impress me; we are still in Brooklyn, you know? The selection is minimal for bridesmaids, mothers-of-the-bride, and especially flower girls. Don't get me wrong, the bridal selection is minimal as well, but you CAN actually touch the dresses here as opposed to "other" places. My mom did get her dress here yesterday for my sister's wedding next year, but I feel it was outta sheer luck. The massive confusion we were in with a very hyperactive flower girl and an incredibly picky bride, left me ready to run down the aisle...in the other direction! Altogether, I had her to over 20 bridal stores - from the barn to the ultra Madison Avenue high end. Lotus ranks as one of the best customer service experiences I had. The prices of these dresses are VERY affordable! I was duly impressed by how affordable. They allow you to take photographs. A bridal shop that doesn't allow you to take pictures in this day and age can go to Hell. The workers here are very friendly and professional. There are a lot of boutiques that don't let you browse and Lotus had no problem with us looking through dresses when we arrived (because it's just fun!). I had chosen a handful of dresses beforehand on their website that I liked (one that I had been staring at for two months) and unlike other boutiques I had been to, Nina had them pulled and ready right away and in the right sizes. My wedding was July 3, 2014. I just decided to try this place out for my dress and my bridesmaids dresses. Everyone that works there was very easy to work with. I don't live close to Lotus and ran late a few times getting to appointments but they never made it a big deal. All of their dresses are beautiful and most under $2,000. I ended up getting my dress, my mother and my bridesmaids dresses here and was very happy overall. Some of my girls had weird water marks on their dresses when it came from the manufacturer and they helped in cleaning/drying. It is street parking so keep that in mind when planning how long it takes you to get there but that's really the only downside. read more

Yesterday was the scond time i visited Lotus bridal and have chosen my bridal gown. My firat visit was last week when i showed up without an appointment and was not turned away but accommodated. My consultant was Sydney who was amazing, very patient, honest and outgoing. I tried on about 8 gowns on my firat visit but couldn't make up my mind. I was not pressured into any purchases, just provided with delivery dates and prices. So i decided to come back a week later. On my second visit i had 4 previous gowns to retry and decided to go in a totally different direction, which was not an issue. This place is as good as it gets. I found a dress at another salon that I loved, but it was unfortunately out of my price range. My future husband urged me to call around and see if I could find a deal before giving up hope on the dress. I was a little embarrassed to call a bunch of bridal studios and ask for their best prices... but it worked. I worked with Jessica at Lotus Bridal, first calling her over the phone in July of 2017. I told her the dress that I was interested in, as well as my budget. While the dress was normally a little bit out of my budget, Jessica worked with her manager and considered all of the logistics for getting the dress exactly at my price point. Jessica made a number of recommendations I never would have known about as a new bride. She urged me to visit the salon on a certain weekend when the salon was holding a trunk show to get the dress at its best discount price. She urged me to ship the dress to my house in New Jersey, rather than picking it up in the store, to avoid paying NYC sales tax. Those little-known details made their price significantly better than what any competing salon could offer. She figured all of the details out within one day and we had everything squared away within three hours. My dress arrived flawlessly in the mail a few months later, and I'm so glad I used Lotus Bridal. Any other salon would have made me settle for a cheaper dress.
