After spending $800.00 on a gown for my sons wedding, the wrong size gown was ordered by the owner. She refused to give me a refund. I had to take another gown in its place. She refused to continue business with me. I went to a seamstress who informed me that the gown was not cut right and couldn't be fixed. I called Bossina Couture and literally begged her to correct her error, she refused. My husband went to the store and offered to pay more for another gown, the owner dismissed him and told him to leave. I paid cash for this gown!!!! This is incredibly frustrating, especially considering the high price of the gown. Amazing work. Bossina dresses my and my bridal party. Ages 8-80. Engagement July wedding April 2018 My dress was stunning. Fitting and Alterations done based on my schedule with no fuss. My veil was made to length, head piece and jewelry. She did everything with grace. My bridal party, was in a low back 2 piece. Since there was such a large age range and to make my girls feel more comfortable Bossina added on custom sleeves and backs to the older girls, took in an adult size to fit the 8 year old, and was able to make alterations a week before the wedding for my bridesmaid who was studying in Germany when we ordered the dresses. If i could give this place ZERO stars i would !!! At first i went and showed the owner a picture of the veil and headpiece i knew i wanted to wear from a young girl! She promised me to make EXACTLY the same items. Starting with the headpiece she dragged me along for 7 months and then told me she could not get it. After the horrific lies about telling me the headpiece was coming, when it wasn't, i picked up my veil. My veil was ANOTHER NIGHTMARE!!! My blusher that i wanted to my knees she made chest length! You can see the crooked, butcher marks from scissors NOT TO MENTION the blusher was completely crooked itself. Nothing was up to par & she REFUSED to give me my deposit back. My mother and I were taking a stroll on New Dorp and she persuaded me to go into Bossina's shop to see what they had. We were greeted by Bossina, who convinced me I was going to find my dress in her shop. She was also having a sample sale. As convinced as she was, I informed her that I wasn't ready because I had dress appointments scheduled for the following month when my bride tribe was in town to shop with me. She allowed me to look through her racks and picked one out for me, which I fell in love with but wasn't positive it was "the one". She volunteered to hold it for a week to give me time to decide. While I didn't say yes to the dress, I did appreciated her lovely accommodation and customer service. I will include her shop on my list to visit when the time comes. read more

I give no stars. Stay far away from this place! I ordered a custom dress in April for my Sone wedding in October. They took my measurements and half the money. The dress was $1145z. The dress came in completely sized all wrong had the wrong beading on it. They promised me they would fix everything but they didn't fix it correctly the dress was not custom-made I told her it was too big and she insisted it wasn't so two weeks before the wedding I had to take the dress to a different lady for alterations after I paid them $160 to alter it and also paid $1100 for the dress do not shop here besides that they are not answering my phone calls very poor customer service and I am very poor alterations! Do not waste your money at Bossina Couture. She ruined my son's wedding day for me. After 2 fittings to alter my dress, the alterations she made were terrible! Not only was I given the dress the night before the affair, but it was not tightened or hemmed properly. Needless to say, the dress was falling down on me, and I had to constantly adjust and pick it up all day long. It was disastrous. Where do I begin? I looked absolutely stunning on my wedding day because of Bossina Couture!!! I requested a custom made dress because I wanted specific details that other wedding dresses didn't have. I told Bossina and Clara the exact dress I wanted to create and guess what? MY VISION CAME TO LIFE. When they called me and said my dress came in, I was so excited and nervous to see it. When I went in, I could not believe how perfect the dress was. I thought I was dreaming. After all alterations were finished, the dress fit my body like a glove, Bossina added silver stones all over the dress just like I wanted, and other details that made it even more stunning (just wait to see the pictures). Boy don't get me started on my beautiful cathedral matching veil. (Again, just wait to see the pictures). On my wedding day, I felt like the most beautiful person in the world. I received endless compliments on my dress and veil. Throughout the entire day my guests asked me where I got my dress from. I also purchased the mother of the bride dress and jewelry from Bossina, all 8 bridesmaid dresses and jewelry, my jewelry and my beautiful headpiece!! Everything came out perfectly. My mother and all bridesmaids felt and looked beautiful. All received compliments on their stunning royal blue dresses, and my mother's burgundy dress. All perfect for a fall wedding. Honestly, if I could give 10 stars, I would. From the minute I called to make an appointment and walked in, the staff at Bossina treated me like family. They listened to all of my needs, helped me find what worked within my budget, and the owner worked with me creatively on my vision. Even during COVID and all the postponements and endless stress, they ensured me things would come in and my timeline wouldn't get affected and they were right. My wedding gown was absolutely stunning. However, if this review is based off of the customer service I would give this business 0 stars if I could. I rarely ever leave reviews and try to bash businesses, but as a bride planning a wedding is extremely stressful and Bossina added 10x more stress than their needed to be. I ordered my dress a year before my wedding and I did not go home with my dress till 48 HOURS before my wedding. Bossina told me in June my dress would be in and every time I called for an update, it was postponed another 2 weeks all the way up to the end of September when my wedding was in OCTOBER. Finally, when the dress actually came in, it of course needed tons of alterations. Bossina would constantly reach out to reschedule or she would tell me the dress is ready to go home and then tell me it wasn't ready when I got there. This led to me having to call out of work and rush around picking up my dress the day of my rehearsal. This business is very unorganized, and she just beats to her own drum. People couldn't understand how the week of my wedding I'm still getting altered and my dress isn't finished. I was also very frustrated about how my bridesmaids dresses were handled as well. My bridesmaids purchased a 300 dollar valued dress and it was handed to them in a ball inside a plastic bag. Terrible. Bossina actually had the audacity to ask me to leave a good review but after the stress she caused me and my family, I cannot lie and all future brides should be aware. Every word written here is the truth. If you're a bride that is a last minute kind of person and doesn't have much anxiety, then this is your place. Ordered a designer dress, was measured by Bossina, and dress was to arrive in January. The dress was late, I pick it up, only to go home and discover 4 tears in the dress, the size tag was removed and the dress didn't fit. I bring it back the next day and tell her I've lost weight since you measured me and the dress didn't fit. She wouldn't give me any paper work or any of the measurements she took. I go try it on for her, she tells me oh it happens all the time I can fix it, but she starts tearing at the chiffon which is now torn further. I stayed calm and told her I don't trust you with this dress please stop. She's goes I'll fix it tomorrow, oh no I can't I'm going away until Tuesday, I said the wedding is in 14 days that can't happen. I told her how can u fix it if you don't re-measure me. She starts to remeasure me and I see she has the wrong measurements written down. I go to her how can I have lost 15 pounds since I ordered the dress and your measurements say I've gained 4inches on my waist. She didn't have an answer and goes mistakes happen. I left in tears with my now torn dress. I called my sister the bride, who in turn called Bosina. Bosina cursed her out and started screaming at the bride, and refused to give us a refund and claimed I must have gained the weight and I was lying. DO NOT GO TO BOSSINA. She's a crook and a liar. Our girlfriend got married two years ago, party of 8 women. We had a fitting for the gowns a year in advance, but she didn't order them until 6 months before the wedding, saying they'd arrive 2 months before and that would give us the time to do alterations. We called in January, when they should have arrived, and were told that Bossina was in Egypt for 3 weeks and we'd have to wait, and that the dresses were not even there, or in the system. Then, when they finally did arrive, all the gowns were either too small, too large, and 2 were missing. Bossina told some of us outright that we had gained weight, which I know wasn't the case because we all had been coaching and supporting one another through dieting and exercise for the wedding. Additionally, Bossina had to rush order 2 dresses that were left out of the initial order. The dress was $270, mind you, and she told the two ladies they'd have to pay for the shipping. One of the dresses arrived 2 sizes too large, and the other never came. We walked into the shop one day and Bossina and the seamstress were making the dress on the floor, ACTUALLY ON THE FLOOR. When the wedding came around, some of our dresses were still waiting for alterations with only 3 days before the big day. That one dress that Bossina made looked NOTHING like our $270 dress and Bossina had the nerve to accept that much money for what she made on her floor. Additionally, another dress needed to be taken in at the waist, under the chiffon overlay. The hems didn't match up and the side of the dress was ruched and pulled funny. On another gown, it was steamed and was therefore wrinkled for the wedding day. Another gown was missing straps that were never tacked on - they were just shoved inside the bodice. Another gown had loose stitching at the hem and one of our girls almost tripped walking down the aisle. DO NOT GO TO BOSSINA. She doesn't know how to run a bridal business. read more

Can i give negative stars? Mine, my mom's, and my bridesmaid's experience at Bossina Couture was HORRIBLE! To start, I ordered dresses in January for an end of August wedding because they said the dresses would arrive the first week of July which gave us almost 2 months for fittings. I had not heard from them by mid July and when I called they were shady, nasty, and told me the dresses would be here within a few days .. this pattern happened repeatedly until 1 week before my wedding! We were SO nervous. when the dresses arrived she ordered 2 of them in the complete wrong size and my girls could barely squeeze into them. the fittings went terribly she did a horrible job with the dresses, and ended up leaving one of the dresses with the strap not even attached- we were literally sewing a dress together the morning of the wedding. now for the real horrible disturbing part... The owner Cathy got very angry with me and my group of girls while we were at the store one day and the conversation was very hostile on her part. we had already left the store when she ran outside of it and PUT HER HANDS ON ME. SHE GRABBED MY ARM FORCEFULLY! This is a grown woman who got physical with a young girl- how disgusting! the cops would have been called, but we had to be realistic at this point in knowing that we needed these dresses from her which were still in her possession at this point 1 week prior to the wedding. I am still in shock that that happened- unprofessionalism is one thing but assaulting me is another. I hope that by writing this review I can save other brides from going through something like this. read more

Absolutely the worst dress shopping experience ever. At first the staff seems warm and kind yet they are super unorganized. My sister "the bride" stumbled upon the most beautiful bridal gown. She decided the bridesmaid dresses would come from this shop too. One star for dress selection, that is it. Bridesmaids come into the first fitting; they take measurements, pick the color etc. This was March 6th, 2017. The dresses arrived August 23rd, 2017. The wedding was September 3rd, 2017. Calls to the store went no where, we were given the run around. Apparently the store was moving a few doors down and everything was packed so they couldn't confirm if they had even received the dresses. Finally, the bride went in for a fitting on Aug 21st and she is promised the dresses will arrive Aug 23rd. Well guess what, when we arrive to our appt at 6pm on Aug 23rd, the dresses were physically still not in the store. The owner tells us that her daughter basically chased down the Fed Ex truck and then had to go to the warehouse to pick up the dresses. Twenty minutes later, our dresses arrive. Ok great! We try on the dresses, none of the measurements were written down correctly next to each bridesmaids name. So now here we are swapping dresses to see who fits what. Totally unprofessional and ridiculous, in my opinion. To add insult to injury, the bride's gown needed some touching up and finishing alterations. The gown was "ready" on Friday Sept 1st. What a nightmare! Individuals in the wedding business should understand how stressful the planning of a milestone event can be. Picking up your gown 2 days before your big day is the most absurd thing I've ever heard. On the day of the wedding, my sister's gown was not perfect. Her mother in law had to literally get on her knees in her dress to fix the tulle underlay and sew some stitches to touch it up. My sister paid for her gown to be perfect and the seamstress fell short of her task. The bridesmaids who had cups sewn into their dress were charged $20 for 3 stitches on each cup. The hook and eye closure on the back of the gown was a hook and thread which broke on all 4 bridesmaids dresses. Bossina Couture needs to get their act together.
