Up 'til today, we have only visited Pearwood Skate in Pearland. Our oldest child had a school field trip to this rink recently so we decided to give it a try today and wow! We had such a great time. Price was $8 to skate, $4 for skate rentals. Not terrible. I was pleasantly surprised that they offered both roller skates AND roller blades! Bonus, they seem somewhat "newer." ???? I personally thought they looked "cool"... they were black and orange. Haha. There were lots of tables for sitting and taking a break. The rink got CROWDED during our visit. Not going to lie, having little inexperienced tot skaters out there with experienced skaters was DANGEROUS. Kids would literally just turn and skate across the rink, go in the wrong direction, fall and lay there like a dead animal, etc. etc. My friend nearly ran over a kid's fingers who fell in front of us. The music was good but too loud for us. In hindsight, I wonder if they would have bumped it down a touch if we asked. When we left, our ears were ringing for the next 30 min or so. The rink felt pretty smooth and well maintained. I noticed a few dips in certain spots but overall nice. Rink seemed a tad small to me... but I am more used to ice rink size. Maybe this roller rink is normal size but it felt small. Kids liked playing the games: red light/green light and the number game. One of my kids won a game and got to spin a prize wheel and won a free admission! Awesome! We got a "large" pizza for $10. The term "large" is kind of a joke. It was pretty small and thin. Kids all ate it, one kid said it was "good", the other said it was "ok". Pitchers of soda were $10, pitcher of WATER was $5. That's a rip off!!! Icees were $4. (I'd rather stop at Bucees on the way home and get one for .89) I think there were 2 birthday parties going on during our visit. Saw a brochure where parties started at $15pp up to a mega package for $650. There are some arcade games here too. Not sure how much those cost to play. Workers all seemed really friendly. Wish there was someone out on the rink correcting dangerous skaters. Overall, we had a BLAST. I probably skated more than my kids. We WILL be back!! read more

This rink is the one nearest to my home, so I really wanted to like this place! But I'm a bit disappointed. My visit was during a Friday night in late June (early summer vacation). They charged a premium rate of $11 which includes skate rental, even if you don't need it. (On other days of the week, the rate would be $6 plus $4 for rental). So - sillyMe - I thought the crowd would be smaller. I didn't think there would be too many children. I thought it would be a mature crowd. You know - Date Night. *Phew* was I wrong! Everybody and their little toddler were on the floor! The place was packed! THEN, about 10 PM, there was a "dance". They didn't allow any skating during this time. This went on for about 15-20 minutes. Prior to that, they closed the skating part for GAMES. Red-light-green-light and some other things to amuse the kiddies. But if you're not playing the game, you can't be on the rink. There weren't any floor moderators so the little ones were skating against the flow, and people were standing around the edges, doing nothing. The only moderation came from the person in the DJ Box, which you couldn't understand because of the mic distortion. There is no water fountain in the building. Apparently, Alvin's thugs tore it off the wall and the establishment hasn't bothered to replace it. But they charge $5 for a pitcher of WATER, so there's that. The food looked roughly 6 on a 10 scale but I confess I didn't try any of it. On a positive note, the floor was smooth and well-maintained. But it also seems small. I'll give this place another try, but it doesn't seem likely that I'll return on a Friday night. read more

It was overly crowded there weren't area to leave your shoes. It was dirty. We didn't stay longer than 5 minutes. This place needs major updating. It's been hammered by years of birthday parties. read more

I had my daughters party here recently and impressed with the service that the crew gave. Everyone was extremely helpful and attentive. In the past, the pizza was not so great but I would say even that was improved on the most recent party. It seems management pays attention to how a local business should be ran. Great staff! This is the perfect place to have your child's birthday party, to bring the kids to skate or to just have an amazing time! They have a wide variety of food at the snack bar you can choose from! Icees, pizzas, hotdogs, fountain drinks and much more! The facility is always clean, especially the restrooms. Staff is very welcoming and friendly, always asking me if there's anything else I need. We came here for a birthday party. It's a nice rink, good clean environment and the skates are in good condition. The young boys behind the skating counter were nice and accommodating. The problem came at the snack bar. My kids wanted and icee which turned out to have a bad aftertaste. I asked the girl if she can switch them out for another flavor. She proceeded to do so while throwing a little hissy fit. She begrudgingly did so while expressing her complete dismay with her gestures and so far as making a comment to the other employee "I'm working my butt off here". He kindly apologized for her. The place is nice but if you want to avoid bratty teenagers, I'd stay away from the snack bar! read more

I've had my daughter's birthday party here two years in a row and each time the birthday girl thoroughly enjoyed herself! Party packages are fairly priced and they provide the plates, cups, forks ect. But down to the real reason we prefer it here.... This is the best floor around South East Houston in my opinion; we live closer to other rinks but chose to travel further to this location specifically! read more

we have attended birthday parties at Alvin Skate N Party twice(once last year and the other yesterday). both times have been fun for the kids and parents. for many of us parents, it's the first time we've been on roller skates in YEARS, and for some parents another opportunity to flex their inline skating skills. the booked party is usually a two hour block, which includes free skate for the first hour, followed by cake and ice cream time and a few games and skate dances(think cha cha slide, hokey pokey). in my opinion the pizza they serve seems a bit underdone(the crust is pasty looking), but the kids don't seem to mind it. all in all a good, inexpensive co ed party place. read more

The facility is clean. The staff is very friendly. The trainers are $3 for the session and they are worth it. This is our 5th time there, my daughter was able to build her confidence and now can skate with out assistance. The price is cheap. $8 for was skater ($5 admission n $3 rental skates). We had my little nieces birthday party here and the kids has a blast! The music was always very up beat and all ages could skate even without adults on the rink. They have really cool skate walkers for kids so they can skate without adults. Everything went on time even with 4 other parties going on at the same time. The kids really enjoyed all the games that Scott, the DJ, had the kids play. Thank you Alvin skate for doing such a wonderful job hosting my nieces birthday party. This place must not have been cleaned since all of the previous reviews stating how clean it is! It is NOT clean, in fact it is disgusting! Pizza is also disgusting! There are many better options for birthday parties! read more

The staff will play favorites among the children and let some get away with anything, especially if they are related. It is a very bad atmosphere, bad language and bullying from the staff ( which are mostly children themselves) and other children. I will never let my children go there again. read more

From start to finish horrible experience.. the people working there looked and acted like they didn't want to be there. It's dirty and ran down. All the tables were covered in spilt and dried up drinks. The person managing the skate rental area was on his phone and took several minutes to realize he had customers waiting. Then I took my 1 yr old (as many times before) out on the skating floor with a pvc pipe walker to let him stand on it while I push him around. This is the only way to keep him happy while there and watch my other two kids. This man watched and WAVED at me and my child as we walked by twice. Then he had a girl make an announcement that the walkers are for skaters only and to get off of it. Obviously this was directed towards me as there were only 7 people skating 2 of which were my kids. I went up to him asked what the problem was. It's SUPER slow, he's not hurting anyone and he barely weighs anything. He said "what's the problem" with an attitude. I told him yet again that he isn't harming anyone and I just dropped $50 to be here. Then he just didn't say anything to help me out. So I asked for a refund then because my one year old is now going to kick and scream cuz he can't go out there. He rudely opened the register and folded up some money and handed it to me without looking at me. No I'm sorry, no trying to accommodate me or make it better at all. I took my kids there to have fun and this is was the only way to entertain my 1 yr old. I would understand if it was busy with birthdays and what not but there was a total of 10 people 5 of those people were my family. Wasn't harming anyone. Main point is I'm annoyed at how it was handled and how poorly this place is ran with a manger with his one infant son running around doing whatever but mine couldn't. And apparently no one cleans. read more
