    Paintball target practice

My husband, who is usually a reserved guy, wanted to go ATV riding for his birthday and so Alvin's off-road was where I chose. Check in was really quick since we made an online reservation. It was a fun experience!! I figured we dodged the rain but the puddles (small ponds really) left behind made for a very authentic experience! We came ready to get dirty so it was cool. Our instructor was very patient with us, particularly me, who had trouble adjusting to the steering lol. He gave me a pep talk both times and I was steering like a pro after lol. My husband on the other hand was having the time of his life and raved about it the whole ride back home. I also added the paintball target practice, and that 100 rounds goes pretty quickly if you're into it lol. All in all, it was an awesome time and I would definitely go back. Tip: bring a change of socks and shoes if you are not wearing long boots or renting a pair from them. If you're going during the fall, don't try to be cute-be warm! I wore yoga pants and some cargo pants on top intending to just ride in my yoga pants but I'm glad I doubled up.

WE had fun here. It is a closed course which I did not expect. For the 1st 10 minutes our guide drove around and around the track. Finally he took us to more of the challenging and fun areas. It can be VERY muddy. So be prepared to get dirty. The ATV was pretty beat up and had a lot of prior use the power was weak. A fun way to spend a few hours.

Returned again during the fall season for some more fun ATV riding. It was super muddy and just a blast. This time, we came prepared and wrapped our legs in plastic bags so we weren't a complete mess by the time we finished. We also were lucky enough to have Diane do our tour again. This makes the perfect outdoor activity or experience gift.

What a fun family adventure! Janice took our deposit and she was friendly and helpful. It's more like $95 a person and $35 for ride along which we needed for our 7 year old. When we got there, we signed waivers & consents. Our guide, Dianne, explained the atv's which were automatic& pretty simple to use. Forward, reverse, throttle & break. I thought an hour sounded too short but it was the perfect amount of time! We had a great time going through all the muddy tracks& the forests. It really felt like we were riding in a jungle somewhere. Be prepared to get DIRTY!!! But so worth it!! We had such a great time and will definitely be back again!!!!

Boots rented at the place made it a cleaner experience :) :)

Me and my family had a great time celebrating my mom's birthday, being the first time for everyone to ride one of these bikes let me tell you it was a blast! Our reservation was at 11 AM but They ask you to be there 30 minutes before for the introduction, sadly we made it there at 11 o'clock and our tour only lasted about 40 minutes instead of an hour so make sure you are there on time. We were not planning on doing ATVs so we didn't have the appropriate clothes and shoes but fortunately they do rent anything you need for affordable prices. I highly recommend this ATV rental.

Had the pleasure of atving with my family this past week and boy, was that an experience. It was my first time and definitely one for the books. It was fun while scary all in one. The registration lady was very nice and our tour guide was super cool. You get dirty with dust and mud but it all makes for a great time and picture! Definitely worth it!

We booked for a party of 3, and had a great time. Check in was ok, I suggest getting there about a half hour earlier than your ride time, as it gets hectic if other groups are checking in also. Ride itself was fantastic, guide was fun and kept an eye out for everyone. Trail was great for beginners, as well as intermediate riders. Tour guide allowed a slower pace for first few minutes for my son to get accommodated, as it was his first time, then picked up the pace. Stopped near the end and took seperate groups photos for all that were in the tour. A fun time had by all......we will be back..

Looking for fun? Look no further ! I had so much fun that I'm trying to put together a group trip to come down this summer so we can all get MUDDY AF I came down to PA for a weekend getaway with the boyfriend and decided to do something that we've both never done before. From the minute that I called them to inquire about their services and prices they were superb. The staff was amazing. (This review is two months overdue so I can't remember names for shit) But when we got there, everyone was super friendly. I think they could tell that we were a little nervous because everyone was joking around. It's was just good vibes all around. They answered all our questions. Were helpful with choosing the correct helmets especially for my big ass head. Honestly, they even gave us gloves free of charge because it was super cold that day. The staff was knowledgeable and it was just everything you needed to feel comfortable doing something you've never done before. When I arrived at the location, I wasn't really impressed. It just looked like flat land but boy was I wrong! The trail was fun. Our guide pretty much let us control the speed of the trail and we didn't get bored or slowed down. There was a couple of oopsies! But he was great, helped us out when we got stuck and checked in to make sure we were ok. The trails were really enjoyable to me. Had bumps and humps and sharp turns and everything one could need. I definitely recommend! Thanks guys !

Ask the Community - Alvins Offroad Playground

Do we need driver license for this?

You have to bring your license and fill the information out on their paperwork in order to ride your own.

Was anyone asked to give their car keys (or anything else) as collateral for damage to an ATV?

No, you sign a waiver accepting responsibility for damages. They inspect the ATVs before you ride and after, keeping track of everything on the machine so they know if there's any new damage from your ride.

First part is a nice little course, after that you have the option to switch drivers. Then it's a pit area. Pay attention to the weather so you could dress accordingly. It rained for 2 days straight before we came here so we knew it was gonna be muddy. We were SOAKED by the end of it. We had water coming out of our shoes. It was awesome! Would totally recommend. They give you a briefing before your trip. I felt like it was totally reasonable rules, I drove myself at one point and really didn't find myself wanting to do what they advise against. You can save time by booking online, you need to arrive early for a waiver sign off and possible helmet fittings. I booked a two-seater UTV for my SO's birthday and we had a blast. The cars are new and have better tech functions, especially with being able to connect to your own music via Bluetooth to have even more fun. We had a tour guide for our small group and off we went, racing through a course and flying through water. We were absolutely filthy by the end, so be prepared. We came with our own gloves, which helped make the driving experience more comfortable. I would highly suggest getting some sort of face covering so you do not end up with a mouthful of mud. They do not have bathrooms on site, but a hose station to do some maintenance and portable toilets. We're looking forward to trying out a snowmobile option in the months ahead.

A lot of people liked Pocono ATV so we chose them. But, like a lot of reviews said, the group is going to stay single file, most of your trip is under or about 10mph, and really this is for those who are beginner or moderate or timid drivers. My kid was one of the timid drivers who was in the front of the line and at the halfway stop point was pulled out and got to ride on her own with another guide so she was able to do her thing. Another member of the group specifically asked about the speed with the leader and he shrugged his shoulders explaining that this is how they run their show and if everyone was at a higher level, then they may have been able to do more at a higher speed. The maximum speed we got to for a very short distance was +/- 20mph. You know these machines are capable of much more and a lot of us were just wanting to rip! You do have to show some competency beforehand so you can go out in line, and my kid's girlfriend decided she did not want to drive and instead be a passenger. We were refunded the difference at the end, though. I did purchase the $5 (cash only) shoe coverings but for today really did not need them. The trails were more than ready for the ATVs and not wide enough in most places to even think about passing. A lot of rocky terrain and tree roots and just a little bit of mud left over from some rain. There was a quick review about the gas and brake beforehand and if you violate anything safety-wise that was explained, you're done for the day. The vehicles appeared to be newer Polaris ones and they had at least two which could hold two people. Everyone was required to wear helmets. Our guide also said that someone hit a tree recently and cost them an additional $900 for the damage. Based on the trails and trees, I'd say he was probably giving accurate information. About $95 each for the hour or so rides. As I said before, this would be more for the beginner or intermediate or timid riders who want an experience in riding /driving ATVs. It was nothing like our trip to Utah where we were given a map and told "see ya in a few hours." Still, a fun trip through the woods.

With that said, we loaded up the State Park Ride and kid you not, the first stop out of the nine takes you nowhere. You come to a small stone road that is chained off with nothing there except a small admin. building for the state forestry service. After that brief hiccup, we mostly followed the rest and had a decent experience particularly at Big Pocono State Park and Promised Land State Park. At the end you do need to return the vehicle with a full tank and yes, they want you to only use premium. For a sense of scope, we did the eight-hour rental and drove I forget how many miles and it cost about $17 to refill the tank before we returned the car. Overall, this is a hell of a lot of fun. I mean sure there are a few quirks as in the automatic car we used downshifted fairly rough and when idling at times you can definitely pick up the exhaust fumes from the engine, but that stuff is very minor and there is really nothing to do here except have fun and explore.
