I have to say I was a little hesitant after reading the reviews but most of the reviews were good. So I decided to book the 1 tour, it was 4 of us. We were a little late and the last tour. Everyone was nice and accommodating. Tiny our tour guide was an actual gentle giant. He made sure we were safe, stayed together, got dirty and had a great time!!!! This was our 1st experience and basted off this experience IM READY TO GO AGAIN! LETS GOOOOOOOOOOO! My advice just follow there directions and take video of your ATV before and after. read more

Me and my family had a great time yesterday. Our tour guide Mathew was great. he mad sure everyone had a blast. He was very attentive and made sure our group stayed together and was safe. My kids who range from age 7 to 19 had a great time interacting with Mathew. we will defiantly be back. I would recommend the experience to riders of all ages. read more

My husband, who is usually a reserved guy, wanted to go ATV riding for his birthday and so Alvin's off-road was where I chose. Check in was really quick since we made an online reservation. It was a fun experience!! I figured we dodged the rain but the puddles (small ponds really) left behind made for a very authentic experience! We came ready to get dirty so it was cool. Our instructor was very patient with us, particularly me, who had trouble adjusting to the steering lol. He gave me a pep talk both times and I was steering like a pro after lol. My husband on the other hand was having the time of his life and raved about it the whole ride back home. I also added the paintball target practice, and that 100 rounds goes pretty quickly if you're into it lol. All in all, it was an awesome time and I would definitely go back. Tip: bring a change of socks and shoes if you are not wearing long boots or renting a pair from them. If you're going during the fall, don't try to be cute-be warm! I wore yoga pants and some cargo pants on top intending to just ride in my yoga pants but I'm glad I doubled up. read more

WE had fun here. It is a closed course which I did not expect. For the 1st 10 minutes our guide drove around and around the track. Finally he took us to more of the challenging and fun areas. This time, we came prepared and wrapped our legs in plastic bags so we weren't a complete mess by the time we finished. We also were lucky enough to have Diane do our tour again. What a fun family adventure! Janice took our deposit and she was friendly and helpful. It's more like $95 a person and $35 for ride along which we needed for our 7 year old. When we got there, we signed waivers & consents. Our guide, Dianne, explained the atv's which were automatic& pretty simple to use. Forward, reverse, throttle & break. I thought an hour sounded too short but it was the perfect amount of time! We had a great time going through all the muddy tracks& the forests. It really felt like we were riding in a jungle somewhere. Be prepared to get DIRTY!!! But so worth it!! We had such a great time and will definitely be back again!!!! read more

You know I was a little concerned with the negative reviews I had read but I'm glad we keep our reservation and followed through. We had a great time. On the day we arrived, there was a large party so we wound up being upgraded to larger and nicer machines free of charge. This proved beneficial in that the larger plastic fenders essentially provided for a clean ride. We were going through deep puddles and we never even got wet. While we were prepared to get dirty it was a benefit to not have to change afterwards. The tour was great. Spent every bit of the hour in the woods riding. The staff was courteous and professional. It's clear that they want everyone to be safe so they will be stern if you're not abiding by the rules. Bottom line, be responsible and you will have a good time. read more

ok so I was just at this atv place and they put a video to show the rules and eveything it says you get 3 strikes and your out. I was on the track and the instructor just told me to get off without any strikes or warnings. i also payed 20$ for a dry suit and its not worth it at all this place is ridiculous don't recommend!! read more

Me and my family had a great time celebrating my mom's birthday, being the first time for everyone to ride one of these bikes let me tell you it was a blast! Our reservation was at 11 AM but They ask you to be there 30 minutes before for the introduction, sadly we made it there at 11 o'clock and our tour only lasted about 40 minutes instead of an hour so make sure you are there on time. We were not planning on doing ATVs so we didn't have the appropriate clothes and shoes but fortunately they do rent anything you need for affordable prices. Tons of fun. Quick check in and registration, helmets and off we go. The machines were very stable and easy to ride. The terrain was varied and had something for everyone, from a fast and flat track to the bumpy, muddy back woods trails. Janice makes the check in simple and easy and Diane is a great guide who gives you a whole tour of the place. There is ample parking and everyone is very friendly and accommodating. The customer service really stands out here in a very good way. I also think there is a food truck there, but it wasn't open when we went. I highly recommend! Pro Tips: Wear old jeans and sneakers, you will get dirty. Wear sunglasses and sunscreen, lots of dust and sun. Make your res ahead of time and get there 30 minutes early to fill out papers and get helmets. read more

We booked for a party of 3, and had a great time. Check in was ok, I suggest getting there about a half hour earlier than your ride time, as it gets hectic if other groups are checking in also. Ride itself was fantastic, guide was fun and kept an eye out for everyone. Trail was great for beginners, as well as intermediate riders. Tour guide allowed a slower pace for first few minutes for my son to get accommodated, as it was his first time, then picked up the pace. I had so much fun that I'm trying to put together a group trip to come down this summer so we can all get MUDDY AF I came down to PA for a weekend getaway with the boyfriend and decided to do something that we've both never done before. From the minute that I called them to inquire about their services and prices they were superb. The staff was amazing. (This review is two months overdue so I can't remember names for shit) But when we got there, everyone was super friendly. I think they could tell that we were a little nervous because everyone was joking around. It's was just good vibes all around. They answered all our questions. Were helpful with choosing the correct helmets especially for my big ass head. Honestly, they even gave us gloves free of charge because it was super cold that day. The staff was knowledgeable and it was just everything you needed to feel comfortable doing something you've never done before. When I arrived at the location, I wasn't really impressed. It just looked like flat land but boy was I wrong! The trail was fun. Our guide pretty much let us control the speed of the trail and we didn't get bored or slowed down. There was a couple of oopsies! But he was great, helped us out when we got stuck and checked in to make sure we were ok. The trails were really enjoyable to me. Havent been ATV riding before but this was pretty fun. Staff were very laid back and helped us quickly despite being understaffed on that day. We definitely got a full hours worth of riding time and we kept going despite some reasonable rain which made it all the more entertaining. I think it would have been nice to have an additional bathroom instead of just one portable toilet to be able to change after getting all muddy, or even some hoses to help wash dirt off better. read more

We made a mistake and showed up today at 10am, but I accidentally had made the reservation for next Sunday. They were already booked but offered to take us on the next tour out. They were so friendly, no pointing fingers, just "no worries we will take care of yall." They were so nice we ran down a picked up a few baby toys for the adorable baby girl, while we waited for the next tour time. My fiancé and I had a great time, but with that said we respected the track, others and the ATVs. We are also Texans who grew up riding horses, boats and jet skis so this was in our wheel house. We had a blast. Our guide took us on a few circles to get some of the more timid drivers comfortable. After that, he took us through it, muddin', bumps, off roading and more. It was a blast, of course, we now are planning to buy our own and enjoy the acreage without a guide lol. They even dug around for the one helmet that had a go pro adaptor for us. I would recommend sunglasses instead the goggles, as the sunglasses breathe better than the goggles. Be prepared you will get muddy, so it's up to you whether yo rent the clothing covers or not. There was a man,Josh, I think he was the owner, was running the place with his baby girl and sons, it was the cutest thing ever. The friends and family were all working together to make a family owned business work, while raising a family in a fun atmosphere. We gave her a few baby toys cause she was so adorable and happy. So for the few complainers, I think it's because they didn't follow the rules and listen to the basic instructions. There were a few females in our group that kept getting stuck, our guide was patient and turned back to help them every time. One girl even turned sideways and he had to hook up a tow rope and pull her out, she got stuck a few times. It seemed those that got stuck got scared and stopped right in the middle of the mud. After calling multiple places and being told they were booked, we called Alvin's the same day we wanted a reservation for and they were booked as well. The manager opened up a slot for us after their last reservation, which was after their closing time. They asked for full payment with no refund, which was understandable. Manager really went out of their way to accommodate us. Upon arriving, we completed the paperwork, got our vests, goggles, and helmets. After waiting for the last tour to return, the cleaned all the atv's, and briefly went over the rules and then explained in how to use the atv's. The property was great. Started off easy, then we went in to the woods, with tight paths, mud, rocks, and trees. At the end, we stopped in the filed to take individual and group photos which we purchased and was given to us on a memory card. All the staff was great here! We really had a blast! Over the weekend a group of my friends went to Alvin's off-road playground to ride ATVs. When we arrived at the location it was already a tense atmosphere, but nevertheless. After checking in my my friends start their training, they are suiting up to get on they get on bikes and we were then told immediately that they would need to hold our car keys while we rode. We had already paid with a credit card they had our drivers license numbers and information and it was it seem to be only due to a race. Mind you half of our party decided not to ride and was sitting in the vehicle. As my party is discussing this new rule with management five of Alvins employees run out and one woman says she's calling the police! Adults discussing a policy change does not require police intervention. There was no need for this and we are appalled at the treatment we received. I suggest that you never use their services, there are other businesses in the area! read more

Where do I begin? This is the best ATV experience my family and I have had so far! My brother and I booked the ATV tours with their super helpful and friendly receptionist. My boyfriend brought his own dirt bike and was able to ride the entire day for their more than affordable fee. We were able to meet the owner and he as well as our atv guides were amazing. Super funny and helpful and they take you through a crazy exciting tour. We will be visiting them again next month and will definitely stay longer this time. This place was sooooooooooo awesome!! I can't begin to express how much fun we had. A group of friends and I went here to ride ATV's in celebration of my birthday. The equipment was top notch, and our tour guide was a professional through and through. We had the time of our lives riding through all the trails on the vast park. We also came back later in the evening for the haunted house and haunted ATV/Hayride tour. 1 word FUN! The service was AI. I even received a discount for being the birthday girl. This past Sunday a group of us were at Alvin's for an ATV activity and had the most unpleasant experience. For starters they do not practice any sort of COVID-19 carefulness. None of the employees wore mask and were sharing cigarettes. I was initially going to be a passenger on a bike but was unable too do to weight restrictions. I waited in the car while the remainder of my group geared up for a ride. I noticed a lot of back and forth so I exited the vehicle to get an understanding of what was happening. Things escalated quickly. The employees at Alvin's decided to impose a last minute rule that we needed to hand over a set of car keys as collateral. That policy wasn't posted anywhere and a member of our group is a lawyer and read the waiver we signed. The car key collateral policy wasn't listed there either. Furthermore a credit card was on file had any damage been done to the bikes. The bikes weren't in great shape to begin with.  Out group was not threatening in anyway but the employees were very unprofessional.  After we were offered a refund that should've been the end of the conversation but when I requested the car key that we did give as collateral back I was told by an employee I do what my mgr says and right now I'm not giving it back. As you can imagine this caused a stir, we were told the conversation was done and had a door slammed in our faces. So even though we complied with this arbitrary rule we then had our collateral held hostage. A door slammed in our face, spoken to rudely and had the police called. Now anyone with common sense knows calling the police and using code words such as we have a code yellow on a group of black people is a threat against our lives. If you're black or brown and travel to the Poconos avoid this business. I urge you do not spend your money at this business. There are other places for outdoor activities that won't threaten your life and would be glad to have your business. read more

ATVs are generally an enjoyable activity of mine but Alvin's ruined what should've been a fun experience for my group. While spending a long weekend in the Poconos our party of 10 decided to book an activity with Alvin's. We arrived and attempted to settle in as best as we could by signing off on waivers, etc. As we were receiving the instructions for our ride, a 2nd female instructor named Diana appears and completely kills the vibe for our ride. We were instructed that 3 warnings while on the course constitutes a cancelled ride. Diana proceeds to give our group a warning and we hadn't even mounted the bike to ride. This immediately put a sour taste in our mouths because it was clear she was not coaching to fairness. As we all move to get on the bike, Diana then says, "oh by the way...we need your car keys". Apparently, Alvin's takes car keys as collateral for damages to ATVs. Of course our group was completely blind sighted by this request, demanded to see it in writing to understand the rationale. Moreover, a third of our party didn't even ride and they were waiting for us in the car. So why would we turn over keys when people were in their cars trying to stay warm? Of course we objected to this unreasonable last minute request. No sensible person from out of town is going to relinquish their car keys to a business. A driver license? Sure. A credit card? Yes. But CAR KEYS?! Never in my life have I encountered a business that uses car keys as collateral. I need you to sit with that. Would you really just hand a stranger your car keys while you do a 1 hour course thru the woods? We firmly objected and the instructors begin to tell us we cannot ride. Fine, then we want a refund for services not rendered. As we take off our gear furious with the treatment we received the staff members tells our group to "Shut up". They then proceed to call the cops. No one from our party made any threats that would have warranted a call for police reinforcement. It was in this moment, we recognized that this business was pulling the same stunt Amy Cooper pulled in Central Park. Falsely calling the police on black patrons that no longer want to patronize this dirty, racist establishment. Dirty because they aren't practicing ANY COVID-19 precautions. And racist because they attempted to use the law to incite fear on patrons that were treated unfairly and unjustly. If visiting the Poconos...I urge you to go elsewhere for ATVs. Alvin's chose to criminalize our party with illegitimate pre-warnings and false reporting to police. They should not be rewarded for the unkind, harmful and traumatic experience they casted upon our weekend. There are other options in the area. read more

We went with our kids and had an absolute blast. Far more challenging than expected, although I noticed they throttled back for some of the other groups - so rally dependent on who is in your (they did some switching around to match like with like). At times we were up to our ankles in water and mud, super challenging and super fun. The prices for repair seem a little stiff given we were weaving in and out of trees. We didn't crash, but it is easy to imagine how a rider could. Tour leader and staff were friendly and the whole thing felt well organized. They do have rules in place and apparently deal harshly with those that break them, but frankly it is easy to understand why. My wife would have preferred a bit more warm up, but I enjoyed getting straight into the thick of it. Friendly manager let us switch days when we showed up unprepared for bad weather. read more

We were with a group of 10 Black men and women coming to Alvin's to ride ATVs for an afternoon of outdoor fun over the weekend and were treated with overt racism, specifically by Diana. The negative energy toward us was sensed from the beginning, but as the conversation progressed- we didn't agree to turn over our car keys as collateral for the ATV's- Diana threatened to call the police on us! To be clear, a white woman threatening to call police on a group of Black people, when she knows the social and political climate of this country isn't just wrong, it's racist and hateful. She knows that the odds are in her favor if the cops show up, and that a simple situation that SHOULD BE HANDLED WITH WORDS could potentially end in violence. I'm speaking directly to the Black families with teenagers, the groups of young adults, and others who will inevitably vacation in the Poconos, DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS. We were treated with so much disrespect for no reason other than the color of our skin, and I would hate for this experience to happen to anyone else. If you're looking for something fun and taking an ATV and going faster then 5-10mph I suggest this place! My friend and I came here as our first activity for my birthday trip in the Poconos! We decided to rent two ATVs and had Shaun as our instructor. Shaun was incredible, he took us through the trails and knew exactly when to slow down and wait for us and would gauge how we are doing and decide whether or not to take us through more off-roading trails, mud, small banks, or the giant dirt track. In between your hour there is a 5 minute break as well. While on one of the turns my ATV got stuck and I jumped off. I was a little worried because I was last in line and couldn't see Shaun or my friend in front of me anymore. But before I knew it he appeared and hastily got everything back on track. For first timers like myself I suggest you to use your head and be safe. These are off roading trails so it is bumpy with trees. My friend and I were lucky enough not to crash but you can get hurt if you are reckless and fling yourself onto a tree! I also suggest do not wear sneakers or clothing you do not want stained. There's mud, dirt, dirt ponds, bugs and a lot more that can ruin your clothing. There's also an option of dirt bikes or bringing in your own atv or dirt bike and enough their trails yourself! And remember to tip your instructor. read more

stopped by with 13 guys on a bachelor party and did the $75, 1 hour tour- it was a ton of fun! none of us had really ever been on an ATV but it was easy to pick up. you spend 15 minutes filling out forms (bring valid ID) , then you toss on a helmet and head outside- get a brief ATV overview and then you're off into the woods riding! they are all automatic with handle breaks, you do a mix of track riding and riding through wooded areas with some fun terrain. 1 hour sounded short when I booked it, but it ended up being just the right amount of time for us. read more

We showed up on time and the place looked abandoned- no cars, doors locked, no employees, no ATVs even visible.... pretty upsetting. We tried calling several times and it went to voicemail, but the voicemail box was full so we couldn't even leave a message. Really threw a wrench into our day's plans for what should have been a fun bachelor celebration event. read more
