The experience was disappointing. I called for a ride to a doctor's appointment. The Agent said "ok, you got it" which led me to believe the car was going to be sent "now". What he should've said was " I don't have a car available now" . I waited 40 minutes and called them back and was told "5 more mins". It was 20 mins and as the car pulled up to the curb, I was phoning the doctor's office to make sure they'd still honor my appointment because now I'm going to arrive LATE. - The office manager told me "no" because the doctor was fully booked and he needed to leave to go to another facility. She rescheduled me for the following week. - This Car Service is the one my doctor's office recommended and I've used them in the past with no issues. So this was disappointing because I had to tell the driver I wasn't taking the ride. - So I'm giving 3 stars based on this inconvenience caused by the miscommunication. read more

I gave these people a chance because they're a little less expensive than other Car services but it's definitely not worth it. I always call ahead for my car at least an hour and I kept calling to find out where the car was And they kept telling me five minutes away Until an hour later , when I ended up walking did they call me. Second time this happened.I was actually in the car when the dispatcher called the driver and told him to forget about me and pick up somebody that needed to go to the airport. I wanted to utilize small businesses and not Lyft or Uber and this is the result.... Waited over 40 minutes for the taxi. Upon arrival the car was disgusting,I doubt it passed inspection. It smelled like mildew and was incredibly dirty. The driver, who couldn't find the address (I live across the street from St. John's University) because he drives with his cell phone in his hand so he can use Google maps, had the nerve to be rude. His front seat was leaned so far back, it touched my knees (I'm 5'1"). I asked him to move it up, his reply: a curt "it's broken" no apology, nothing. He also never once apologized for his tardiness. It was a rainy and cold out, I had to finally ask if the heat worked and he finally turned it on. I will NEVER utilize this car service again. It was a stormy day and he drove way too fast in this unstable vehicle for my liking. I'm just happy we made it to our destination safely. Still may report to T&LC. Horrible customer service. I have used these guys a few times, but no longer! They literally act as if they are the only car service that exists. ZERO customer service, nasty dispatchers that are rude and unprofessional to the bone. You call for a car and they say "We have no cars!' and just hang up on you. I would at least say, sorry no cars at the moment, but we might have something available in 15, 20 - 30 minutes... Would you like to wait if you are not in a hurry? You say something, anything else, but you do NOT say what they do! I asked to speak with a manager and he was a bigger asshole than the previous person on the phone! On top of this, many of their cars horrendous and when you call to tell them, they act as if you are crazy! There isn't any way these cars are fit to pass a vehicle inspection to be on the road. I have seen cars where none of the gauges work, no speedometer, nothing! I will definitely make it point to report these car conditions to the proper agency and let's see how many cars they will have to provide their ZERO class car service? I've used this service about 15 times over the past 6 months and my service has varied from mediocre to horrible. If you call and request a car for 1:00 pm, they will undoubtedly show up at 12:50 pm and then start calling to let you know that your car is downstairs and will get very upset that you aren't ready. Then, they will charge you extra for having to wait. If you are traveling from a place that requests a lot of cars, it is easy to get confused which car is yours. Today, I requested a car at 3:45 pm, the dispatcher said that it would be 10 minutes for a car to arrive. At 3:56 pm, I got into a car that arrived and was at my destination when the dispatcher called me yelling because he had been waiting for me. He never called until he would have been 40 minutes late. The guy has attitude. While the drivers are usually VERY friendly, the cars are disgusting, smell and the ride is not smooth. I used them a few times when I used to live in the area and had to take my cat back and forth to the vet (and so I needed to be able to reserve a car that would be willing to take a cat). Sure they fill a need, but there are nicer services out there. The cars are often quite 'shitty', the drivers a bit rough around the edges and the cars often smelling of smoke. read more

I like these guys. The professionalism isn't at an all time high but they're always on time and sometimes do a pick up at very short notice. I always call for airport runs and find it much more worthwhile than saving a few dollars taking the subways and buses. I always want to pay with credit, which has to be done over the phone and the past 3x I was told "the machine is down but we can stop at an ATM". This really bothers me since majority of the time I want to pay on my company card but... it is what it is. Take it for what it is. Drivers are always nice, no issues there. read more

Quality of service really varies. I seem to have had better luck than my boyfriend - who ends up with rattling cars that almost break down and rude drivers. Taking a star off my previous review because this past time the driver arrived 10 minutes early and called to tell me to get downstairs. I replied that he was early, to which I was screamed at. Called the dispatch line to complain and was yelled at again. (that I should be "thankful I even have a car today" - when I had made a reservation the day before!) I have used this car service for many years and never had a problem until now. I had to be at JFK by 6pm. I called for a car to arrive at 515pm since it was during the week and would hit rush hour traffic. At 520pm my car was still not there so I called to see where it was. I was told that the car would be there in 5 minutes. Now it's 530pm and I call again. I was told that now it would be there in 6 minutes. At 540pm, I called one more time. I was told the car would be there in 5 minutes. I called Uber and they arrived in 2 minutes. As I was halfway to the airport, I get a call from Mike at Always Ready telling me my car is in the driveway. I told him that I called Uber and am halfway to JFK. He yelled at me telling me I should have called them and hung up on me. I called them 3 times asking where my car was and each time they lied to me. Now you are yelling at me because you are full of shit??? I will NEVER use them again and will use Uber or Lyft from now on. The price is the same. read more

My pickup time was for 2pm and they called at 1 to confirm and then they called at 211,218 and 237 only to tell me that the driver will be a few minutes late and then my last call from them was they are not coming bc I was erased from the computer! They lied and said I was a no show but I've been sitting at my window on a hot summer day (96 degrees outside) waiting for them to arrive so that I can take my niece to the pool smh! I needed to take a car yesterday to the courts on Sutphin Blvd. for years when any patient at my office (in Forest Hills) needed car service I always told them to call Always Ready. Every single time they were prompt and usually called my patient or myself, if I placed the call, to let us know that the car was waiting outside. I went online because I forgot the number so when I googled them I saw that there were bad reviews. At that point, I didn't want to be late so I called the service that got the best reviews and they told me they were short drivers and they couldn't accommodate me for a few hours. And I called over an hour in advance. So I called the second best rated Forest Hills car service and they couldn't accommodate me. So reluctantly, I called always ready. The dispatcher was not only friendly (it was a big complaint on a few reviews that they weren't) but when I gave him the address he knew exactly which building it was, which was across the street from the big courthouse. I told him that I needed the car for 11am and the car was there at 11am. The driver was also friendly and took a back route that got us there 10 minutes less than the time it usually takes me. I gave him a very nice tip. I don't know what's up with all of these other reviews being that every single time I have used this car service they have been nothing but professional, courteous and on time (this I believe is an important thing!). I just wanted to come back to this site and relay my experience. I have used all of the other local car services (or at least tried to) and I have had trouble, on and off, through the years with them with the exception of Always Ready. The driver got lost and blamed me for not knowing how to get from my vet in Forest Hills to my apartment in Bushwick: "If you don't know the way, you should say so. Gas is expensive. You wasted my time." I did say so, about TWO DOZEN TIMES. The beauty? He had a GPS unit the whole time! That he didn't use!! Instead, he's asking me if he can take this street, if he can turn left here, et cetera, to which I'm replying, "I don't know, maybe?" Also, he randomly informs me that "Women are the worst drivers." I learned my lesson. On the way back to pick up my cat from the vet, rather than call Always Ready, I asked my Bushwick Car Service driver to wait 10 minutes for me, and he was happy to oblige. Worst car service ever! They should be renamed "Never Ready Taxi." They are undependable, rude and inconsistent. In addition, the dispatcher has the worst attitude. I have never experienced such poor customer service. Not to mention that the drivers tend to be very old and the cars they use, even older. One time on my way to the airport, the trunk of the car popped open in the middle of traffic. Did I mention it was raining? Called 3 hours ahead of time for a taxi for my wife and son, who was going for a doctor's appointment. No taxi. Family is waiting in the rain. I call and the service HAS NO RECORD of my call and can't identify the dispatcher who took it, even though I gave them the exact time. They also have "no other cars available or in the area." So, my wife and son were waiting in the rain for 15 minutes for a cab that was never coming. Great job, guys! I can assure you I will not be using your service again. This is not the first time we've had problems with this cab company. Once, they didn't send a car early in the morning for an airport run. Yeah, that's exactly what you need at 4:30 in the morning. Always ready is a very good name for this company because they are very reliable! I've been using them for several years, mostly trips to and from the airport. Their rates are very reasonable and their drivers are friendly and helpful, using secret routes to avoid traffic in a pinch. I notice the other low reviews and wanted to share my experience, which has been very positive. The cars are older, yes, but in over a dozen trips with them the age of the car - or driver - has never been an issue! read more

HORRIBLE! Do Not Use this Cab Service!!! The dispatch told me they had no cabs and recommended another service. When I called the other service they were over an hour late. So I called "Always Ready" Taxi and asked for a cab, they told me 25 min. I got in a cab that arrived 25 min later after being called by " Always Ready " saying my cab was there. As I was leaving "Always Ready" called me back irate and cursing me telling my boyfriend and my mother we are in the wrong cab. We tried to explain but the dispatcher HUNG UP and then called back telling us we hung up on him and we are LIARS and to NEVER CALL AGAIN!!! Please help me fulfill his wish and NEVER CALL THIS SERVICE. You could be Gilded in Gold and you still could NOT get "Always Ready" to pick you up. This company is horrible. I called and was told they did not have an available car. After being referred to another car service who did not show up for 45 minutes, I called back. 15 minutes later I jumped into a taxi and was then called by dispatch and screamed at for getting into another cab. The dispatcher called me a "liar" and cut me off every time i attempted to explain myself as to why I got into another vehicle as well screaming at me to never call him again. While I attempted to explain that I did not know I was in the wrong vehicle, I was berated and constantly cut off. After this experience, I will appease him and never call him again. I called last night to book a car for 10 am this morning. I called again about 9:55 am to confirm my reservation. I just wanted to make sure that they didn't screw up the address because I needed to drop off someone at the airport. Nobody wants to be late for their flight. I asked politely if the car is on its way. The dispatcher gave me an attitude! He said "The car will be there in two minutes!" then hung up on me. I called back and told him that it's not nice to hang up on someone while the person is still talking. He raised his voice at me and said "What are you talking about? I put you on hold, I didn't yell at you" blah blah blah. But he clearly did. All this time I was calm, told him what's on my mind and wished him a very nice day. The car comes at 10:02. The driver is a heavy, sleazy guy with long hair. We had two pieces of luggage plus a big box. He put the luggage lazily into the trunk, one of them was upside down. Didn't even bother helping us with the big box. He just stood there and watched us. We got in the car that smelled like cigarettes. Smoke still coming out of the ash tray. At least he had the decency to put it out. I said, "Hello, how are you?" He didn't even reply. I was thinking, ok, you got a shitty personality. Two minutes later, he asked me which terminal we're going to. I replied, "Terminal 1, please." We arrived at the airport after 20 minutes of silence. He unloaded the baggage from the trunk 6 feet from the curb. I was like, can he at least work for his tip??? But no, he just stood there and watched us schlep the big box. I paid $24.50 (from Rego Park to JFK) plus gave him a $4 tip. Because I'm a f***ing nice person and didn't want to ruin my day because of this bad experience. I'll never use them again. These people are liars. At 6:30 am I was at Home Depot in Glendale. I called the prior day and they said it would take 15 to 20 minutes for a pickup. They said I had to wait 20 to 25 minutes for a car. I called back and they sounded incoherent and said they couldn't pick me up at all. I have used this car service a number of times but have had problems with them (drivers who smoke, lateness) and found them to be extremely unprofessional and unethical. On the last occasion, I reserved a car for an airport trip from my work location. As I always do, I asked for the fare in advance. First, the driver was very late and had some unacceptable excuse. Then she started driving in the wrong direction to reach my destination. When it came time to pay the driver, she told me that it was a different amount (much more of course) than the fare I had been quoted. I had writtten down the amount quoted to me so she called the dispatcher who gave her yet another amount. I then called the service myself and, when I tried to engage in a discussion with a manager, was literally met with ranting, screaming, yelling and threats. I was told that if I didn't pay the third quoted fare, I would be charged with "theft of services" (Penal Law 165.15 for those of you who are interested). I was extremely insulted by the accusation that I was trying to do something illegal (after they were the ones who had quoted me the fare) and I simply could not believe the way in which the manager spoke to me. By the way, I never said I wouldn't pay the lawful fare - I wanted to know what the fare actually was and why I was quoted a completely different amount when I called to book the car (as well as by the driver). I see that there are other complaints on yelp about this company. I would never use this company again and hope that no one else is ever subjected to this type of treatment as well. I recently called for a car @ 6:00 am to pick me up for a very important conference @ 2:30 PM the same day. Not only didn't they not arrive at the specified time but gave me a lame excuse the car broke down. They never called to advise me of this problem. after some positive experiences with this company we had an unfortunate experience which will prevent us from ever using them again. We ordered a car and had to make it from an outer borough to Manhattan in time for a performance. The car was on time but ran out of gas, i.e. "died" in the middle of an extremely busy highway where we were put in jeopardy. The driver, without an apology, called into his company for help and left us inside the car - traffic racing around us - while going outside for a smoke. We were paralyzed with fear while the cars rushed by us. Luckily a good samaritan from another car service came by and rescued us, taking us to our destination. After 30 years with them. I'm done! I ordered a cab for this morning at 4:30, the day after the Irene storm. The driver was on time and told me about a second pickup. NO ONE EVER TOLD ME ABOUT THIS and I would have been happy to set aside more time for this stop had I been alerted, because I had to get to work early due to the storm. I specifically got a cab because of no working transit. The courteous driver said he HAD to make this stop and called he dispatcher, Joe, who said I could "get out" if I didn't make the stop. I told him I should have been told and I'd have left more time. He said do it or leave the cab and called me an "asshole" for disputing the fact that I wasn't told about the stop. Using profanity with a customer??? That alone is my reason not to use this substandard, discourteous service ever again. I was also quoted a fare of $34.50 from Forest Hills to midtown, during mandatory zone rules of $10 for the first zone and $5 for each additional. When I got in the cab I was told the shared fare would be $27 each - still above the $15 legal fee. It's another good reason not to use these guys who claimed they knew NOTHING about the zone fares. They DON'T know their own business and they are PRICE GOUGERS. I alerted the passenger sharing the ride and she paid only the legally required $15 fee as well. Perhaps the driver knew of the zone fees, as no effort was made to contact the dispatcher about the refusal to pay the gouged prices and only pay the legal zone fare. My driver was great. He got a nice tip after I paid the $15 fare. I am now going to the TLC website to file a report. It is my desire that they suffer a fine for this rude and ILLEGAL service. read more

Always Ready is more like Always Inept. I made two orders with this car company and have been disappointed and let down every time by their lack of professionalism and inefficiency. The first time I made an order, the driver was eating as he was driving and asking ME for directions. The car smelled of Chinese food, was unkept, crumbs everywhere and on top of that he gave me attitude for not knowing how to get to the destination. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and made another order with them. This time I had to be on the phone with the dispatcher for 15 minutes correcting every mistake that he made like my address, destination and time of pick-up, finally he confirmed everything or so it seemed. I ordered the car for 7PM the following evening. I got a call at 7AM from the driver telling me that the car was ready. When I told him that he is supposed to be here in the evening, he proceeded to yell me at me saying that I was wrong. I then called the dispatcher who cut me off mid-sentence and told me to have a nice day. The company should be taken down. Please do yourself a favor and never work with this car service. It explains why I always receive $1 off coupons from them, probably because business isn't booming! read more
