What stood out to me the most is the person who helped with the needle , very professional and gentle. I'm actually someone who's pretty scared of needles, but they made the whole process feel a lot less stressful and almost painless. The place itself is clean and well kept. There's also plenty of parking in the front, which makes it convenient , I've never had trouble finding a spot. This was a very disappointing experience…read more I arrived at approximately 5:30 p.m., even though the urgent care's posted closing time is 6:00 p.m. When I walked in, the front desk staff and the doctor were standing together talking, and the receptionist was eating. I was told, "I'm sorry, we're closing." I responded that I thought the clinic closed at 6:00 p.m. The doctor replied that while they technically close at 6:00, they were no longer accepting patients because the paperwork takes about 30 minutes. I have never experienced an urgent care refusing to see a patient 30 minutes before its posted closing time simply because of paperwork. I was in severe pain and had to leave and drive around looking for another urgent care that would actually treat me. If your clinic closes at 6:00 p.m., patients should be able to receive care until that time or, at the very least, be clearly informed of an earlier patient cutoff time. This experience was frustrating, disappointing, and unacceptable.

Maybe it was accident, but damn it, have the DECENCY to tell me so I can take pain medication! That did it. Even though he has no website and just recently added text notifications. Even though he still has x-rays and a paper filing system (not even a PC in the reception area, the reservations are kept in a paper calendar). I understand that a no frills kinda service cuts his overhead and increases his profit. That was OK with me as long as the work was done well. It was done well in the past but this lack of empathy and forthrightness was just too much to ignore. I've never given a bad review, but I feel that he deserves it. You have been warned.

Dr Russell and Hoag is 100% shady. They're billing sneaks charges during routine visits. This has…read morehappened on TWO occasions. 1. I go in and talk to Dr. Russell and mention that I have two moles that might be concerning. He says he's not sure what to say about them but would take a picture and send it to the dermatologist to look at. Then I get a bill for almost $200 from a dermatologist I never heard of for review the pictures. No one even called and spoke to me! Just sent me a bill. Also, maybe they should tell you that you'd get charged for that. Might be nice to know! 2. Went in the next year for my annual check up and told Dr. Russell that I would like to schedule an appointment to remove the moles even if they are benign. He told me "oh well we can just do that now". Of course I said oh okay great. Now I knew I'd have to pay for the removal obviously but then they billed my insurance for my annual check up AND another office visit charging me an additional $30 to the already $275.99 for the removal. That's two office visits in one! Monica, Claudiola, and another lady in billing won't even allow you to talk to a billing manager. I'm done. Taking my entire family back to memorial care because at least they are transparent and don't pull this crap.
