Aly showed up on time, helped me understand what they'd do, when they'd start and when they would finish. The estimate was fair. They got to work and completed the work on time. Each day, the job site was clean. It was a big job and the result looks great! Aly's also offered a couple of suggestions for additional improvement. From the estimate to completion, the process was very professional. Something I wasn't expecting when they presented the estimate was the inclusion of copies of their licenses, bond, and other insurance information. Definitely would recommend them. read more

Aly's crew recently cut down my neighbor's Yucca tree in her backyard. To her backyard is a curved path with square stones. When the crew had to grind the roots of the tree out, they were forced to transport the grinder over this curved path. When doing so, it affected the path. The stones were no longer equidistant or level. I asked Aly if they could fix this and bring it back to normal. Without hesitation, he sent Chris and Rich to fix this problem on a separate day. I can't say enough good things about my experience with Aly's and his team . My 80Ft pine tree got flagged as liability two weeks ago and we got a notice from Our home insurance carrier . We were concerned about our insurance renewal and called around decided to go with Aly. I called Aly's number on Monday, we scheduled a visit for Tuesday between 10-12 , Aly's was there at 10:00AM sharp. We chatted he explained very clearly what to expect from the trim, understood what the insurance required and was very pragmatic about what the current requirements are for homeowners. We agreed to move forward and he said his team would be at my place the next day at 9:00AM and sure enough they were there at 8:50AM. The team worked through out the day. Aly even came by to check if everything was going well . We chatted more and he said he would provide a written report for the insurance agency. His team took pictures of the roof, trees, clearance etc . We had a report the next day as promised. There was not one time through this whole experience where Aly did not deliver on what he said he would do or his team would do. I saw Aly's crew servicing a house down the street...a few days after I saw a branch fall down and slam into a car windshield down the other side of the street. Aly was at my house a few hours later chatting with me about trimming some of the big trees in my front yard, and his crew were out the next day (on the 4th of July no less) and did a great job cutting back some of the big branches hanging over my roof and driveway, but making it look clean and not like someone got a bad haircut. I was out the entire day but when I got back, you couldn't even tell the crew was there...all the branches and leaves were cleaned up quickly and the team was really great to deal with. Aly's did a fine job trimming our very overgrown Chinese Elm trees. They ere prompt, on time, and removed all the trimmings.

After months of rain, our backyard had a lot of weeds. We also had bushes we needed to remove, and redwood suckers that were growing up to 6 feet. In our front yard, we had some plants that needed trimming, and leaves that needed to be blown. Aly's team did a wonderful job pulling weeds, removing bushes, removing redwood suckets, and trimming plants. Our backyard looked very clean, and we could enjoy it without worrying about all the work we needed to do to make it look nice. read more

I would not recommend them. I had a lot of weeds to get rid of and some hedges to trim. They were expensive but I didn't have the time to get more quotes, my bad... They did the trimming of the shrubs just fine but they just weed wacked the weeds (I could have done that) and I will still have to go in and dig them out. Unfortunately I wasn't there when they started and they took out 5 salvias and my flowering ground cover plants and also trimmed all the flowers off my butterfly bush, Mexican sage, and rose bushes (they were not to be trimmed either) so my yard looks bare (no flowers for bees, hummingbirds and butterflies). Some of it may come back but not soon and I probably will have to replant. There was no attention to detail.. for example, they trimmed all the flowers off the rose bush but left suckers in the ground. But they made sure to pull out the stump of my ceanothus shrub which they destroyed in error. They were supposed to weed that area but a 2 foot tall 6 foot wide green shrub does not look like a weed; if there was a question they should have gotten in touch with me. read more

When a huge tree hit our house, was lodged against the entire building, and threatened more damage with more rain and wind coming, Aly's was out there within an hour and did a magnificent job. Tuesday night, big winds knocked over a giant tree on the property of our small condo building. The tree was lodged against the entire 3 stories. It was a GIANT tree. And rain and more winds were predicted within 12 hours. I called Aly's, told them it was an emergency, and they had a six person crew, 2 trucks, huge saws and rigging out ASAP. I mean within an hour! They did a magnificent job -- which took most of the day. My small condo has used Aly's for years for regular tree trimming. We're a long time customer but certainly not a huge customer. They cleared all the weeds, pruned our neglected citrus trees, hauled some old appliances and brick, and even demolished and removed a retrofitted deck we needed to get rid of. Not only did Aly have great suggestions like micro tanbarking the front yard (giving us immediate landscaping that can last until we decide to change it), but went above and beyond adding a pathway and an interim gate where we are missing a section of fence. I decided to have my large invasive weed tree removed and called Aly's for a quote last May 2011. It took a year to start the project because of my procrastination, but every few months I'd call Aly to see if the quote was still valid. Each time Aly said it was. After getting the necessary tree removal permit, I contacted Aly in April 2012 and asked once more if the quote was still valid. He said it sure was and he still had the copy. So I booked him. Aly's crew of 10 promptly arrived at 9 a.m and work did not end until 7 p.m. They did a wonderful job cutting down and cleaning area. I needed 2 trees removed and 1 trimmed back, I spoke to Aly & Maria a few times in a 4 day period they gave me their prices and I gave them my budget I had for the job to be completed. They had worked with me and I gave them my word I would not look elsewhere, they came out the day before garbage day in about 2 1/2 hrs in the late afternoon they were done and I opted to have them leave trimmings in front of house for the garbage people to remove, they came the following day while I was at work and removed the stumps. Very professional service and friendly staff is what makes a company, I manage one so I understand that and I am very impressed and satisfied that I chose Alys and his company is recommended highly! We hired Aly's to do some tree and stump removal and tree replacement. They did a fantastic job removing 2 overgrown Italian Cypress trees, as well as a dying Locust street tree that was severely hollowed out by termites. They replaced the Locust tree with a city-mandated Autumn Blaze Maple, and found a great specimen. They also did a lot of stump grinding and undergrowth removal. All work was completed in 2 days, and the prices were very reasonable. We will hire them again in the near future for some new tree planting, once our house is completed. What happened?? I've used you twice before in the past. This time, I scheduled an appt for some trees to be trimmed. One man came out and said he was there to give me an estimate only. That's not what I asked for when I called. He gave me the estimate and said I'd hear back by the end of the day for scheduling. That was at least 2 weeks ago and no one ever followed up. I guess you don't need the $1600 or a repeat customer. I ended up hiring another company who charged me half of that estimate and responded immediately. How disappointing. read more

I asked Aly and his team to trim back a very large sycamore tree that I have in my backyard. I've used them for quite a while, but I tried a different tree trimming crew last year (I didn't think they took it back enough). Sure enough, some large branches came down in the first big wind storm we had. I'm back with Aly's. They provide excellent service (5 man crew; good time estimate; cleanup) but they're not cheap (primary reason for 4 stars instead of 5 star rating). Great customer support when I mentioned that some outdoor furniture covers were damaged from falling tree limbs... they cut a check right away and sent it over by mail. read more
