I am the only one here training Yorkshire Terriers and one of a few men bringing their dogs to classes. My rescue Jax is now registered with me as a Therapy Team with Pet Partners. We're doing visits with other teams at a memory care facility. Soon we will be doing visits at a summer class for special needs children. My long term goal is to be able to visit children in hospitals and shelters. Jax just melts into the arms of a child. Dog training is about training the owner to better communicate with their dog. I am amazed at what I've learned in the past year. Jax has came a long ways too, not to mention his little brother Stud Muffin. We've always adopted rescues and began monitoring shelter dogs via the Adopt a Pet website. Jerry (now known as Ollie) came from the Gulf Coast Humane Society Adoption Center. We immediately went down to meet him and were lucky enough to take him home that day. He's the best addition to our home and has helped the healing process with his snuggles and sweetness. The process was incredibly easy, and they guided us every step of the way. Ollie was taken care of medically and healthwise, and they provided extensive medical history, future guidance, and referrals. I already walk my dog using the WoofTrax app with Gulf Coast Humane Society as my charity, and will be adding them to our regular donations. I had a very disappointing experience with Gulf Coast Humane Society during my cat's neuter…read more I was already extremely nervous due to the surgery. During check-in, the veterinary technician was very kind and explained that he has a brachycephalic airway due to his facial structure. I asked if someone could call me once he was awake and doing well after surgery. She told me it would be better if I called around noon since that's when the cats are usually finished. When I called around noon, I was told his surgery hadn't even started because an emergency surgery came in and the dogs were being done before the cats. I completely understand that emergencies happen and should take priority. However, when I called again around 1:30 PM, his surgery still had not been performed. At that point, the staff member I spoke with was dismissive and rude. I was essentially told they have a high volume of spays and neuters and couldn't check on every cat. As a worried pet owner whose cat was under anesthesia for a scheduled procedure, I wasn't asking for constant updates--I simply wanted to know how he was doing. The most upsetting part happened after I picked him up. When I got him home, I discovered his entire backside was covered in blood. I immediately called the clinic and, after waiting on hold for about 10 minutes, was instructed to bring him back. Once we returned, I was told that the incision had not been fully closed. This should have been identified before he was discharged. A proper post-operative assessment should have caught this issue before sending him home. Seeing my cat covered in blood after surgery was incredibly distressing and completely avoidable. Unfortunately, this wasn't my first concerning experience at this facility. During a previous neuter visit with my other male cat, he could barely walk when he got home. While I appreciate that they now reverse the anesthesia, the overall experience still left me feeling that quality control and discharge assessments are lacking. I understand that shelters and high-volume clinics are busy, and I appreciate the veterinary technician who was compassionate during check-in. However, being busy should never come at the expense of patient safety or thorough post-operative care. I hope this review encourages the clinic to improve communication with pet owners and strengthen its discharge procedures so that no one else has to experience bringing their pet home in this condition.

When we brought her home, we noticed she had a runny nose and wasn't acting like a healthy puppy. We took her to our veterinarian, who diagnosed her with pneumonia and parasites. When I contacted the store about what had happened, the owner told me to reach out to another person who handled these issues. That person responded to me once, but after that, I never received another response despite my attempts to follow up. Over the past 15 years, I have purchased several puppies from the Petland Fort Myers location, including two puppies around the same time I purchased this Cocker Spaniel so she would have companions. Every puppy I've purchased from the Fort Myers location has been healthy, and they've lived long, happy lives. I've never had any health issues with the dogs I purchased there. The way they handled the situation with selling us a sick puppy is why I wouldn't recommend purchasing a puppy from the Naples Petland location.

Which one, if you spay that early it affects the growth of large breed dogs and two, she is a show dog that needs to be intact. This was absolutely ridiculous because our cat is spayed which is the species that maters. This just came across poorly and we felt that they wanted to judge and punish us because our dogs were not spayed. We are very responsible pet owners and would have allowed Gator to live his best life. Now he will be stuck in that prison with the multitude of other cats that they want hold onto like currency
