3 weeks ago we adopted a shy and timid kitten named Talia. At the shelter she was so scared and would pin her ears back, hiss and run away when I would try and pick her up although she did like to be held. I knew this little shy girl was meant for our family. We brought her home and within a few days she really blossomed! Now, after only 3 weeks she is the biggest love bug and lap kitty! I am so thankful that we saved this beautiful kitten. Please, when you visit a shelter be sure to pay attention to the shy and timid cats as well as the outgoing ones! They deserve a chance at a loving home as well! I want to thank Maddie for helping me with Talia's adoption. You were so wonderful! She is the most loving, playful and adorable little kitten! My family and I like to visit local shelters wherever we travel, visit the animals and leave a donation. Sometimes it becomes a sad experience when you see poorly maintained facilities. However this Naples facility is absolutely gorgeous! We had the opportunity to visit the cat rooms which were truly suites. While Foster homes are best, this facility was the next best thing! Volunteers and staff were welcoming to us and appreciated our visit. I only wish all facilities were as beautiful and clean as this one! Thanks to all those who tirelessly work to be a voice for the unloved so they can meet their forever families and get the love they deserve! read more

TERRIBLE!! Whoever Sam and Wendy are answering the phones needs to do better. I went online and fell in love with a dog. Unfortunately, I work around their operation hours, so I then asked questions on how I can claim the dog without someone else taking her. They mentioned that holds are not possible, even with a credit card. I called the second time to mention I will be heading over in a few minutes.. I left work and nothing is 5 minutes away. I can't imagine how fast I drove, but I arrived in 10. as soon as I walk in I'm given sass and told its too late; the dog is gone. I was given a smirk almost and an "oh well" attitude. I am pissed! This all was done so fast, and no remorse at all was given. This would've made my son so happy.. Their behavior and sass were so unnecessary.. I will never recommend this place to anyone. read more

I cannot rave enough about how amazing of an organization this is. The Humane Society in Naples holds such a special place in my heart. I genuinely feel they have a six sense for pairing people up with the right animal. I had looked at several adoptable dogs throughout a couple months in the facility and kept hitting a wall. While all were lovable, none were quite the right fit. However, I remained hopeful, knowing the dogs were in good hands at the humane society and would find a good home. As my search continued, the staff was so supportive and was instrumental in helping pair me with the right pup. The staff's expertise, investment, and personal connections with the animals in their facility allows for the best possible adoption for both the animal and the person/family. While I love the kindness and community within the organization, I most appreciated their honesty about what the personality and background were with each dog I looked at. This showed me that they were more concerned with correctly placing an animal, rather than just trying to clear the shelters. In addition to the excellent staff, the facility is so lovely and the adoption process is seamless. I am so thankful for Jessica who made sure that my new pup, Rosie, was the right fit for me, and her I. I adore Jessica's commitment to ensuring that my dog has a happy and healthy life and the rest of the staff who celebrated my pup's adoption. I could not be better paired than with Rosie. Furthermore, if you did adopt from there, the humane society has a clinic that already understands the animal's personalities and needs which makes the search for medical care an easy task. They also offer discounted obedience classes if you adopted from them. All in all, they really make it easy to adopt, not shop. Completed my service dog training here with Guardian Angel Medical Service Dogs. Of the numerous visits the premises is always clean. I was impressed that they had an industrial emergency power generator to keep the animals comfortable in case of a power outage. The outdoor play area has an agility course every thing is in good condition. The landscaping around the facility complements the aesthetics and is always properly maintained. The cats are maintained in a cat room with toys and good views from the outside to view your next adoption. The cats are obviously much happier in this setup and portray the cats in a favorable manner that would tug at the heart strings of a cat hater. It is impressive how this facility offer a broad spectrum of community services in conjunction with other organizations all for the benefit of the community and the pets that reside there. read more

We rescued a dog here a little over a year ago, he was shipped in from Puerto Rico after the hurricane. He was the perfect match and I loved how much effort they put into the adoption process- making sure each animal gets the proper home. Alex, the behavior specialist, has been helping us from even before we took our friend home and the rest of the team is still helping with whatever we need. We take our dog here for his annual check ups and shots and any other medical concern we may have. Very knowledgeable and upfront about anything we needed. They didn't hide any information even if they fear this may not be the pet for you. Also, it is a very clean environment and they are sure to make certain everyone is comfy until they are adopted! This isn't an easy job. You have to be patient and have the heart to care for these animals. If it wasn't for them our little Rex wouldn't be here. I'm a sucker for 'everything happens for a reason'! The chihuahua we adopted was in and out of shelters, snipped at people he didn't like and was not given someone's full attention. All he needed was a family to love and take care of him. He needs a lot of attention. He's funny, outgoing and adorable. While every dog can be annoying when they don't listen, you just need to figure out what's going on with them to better adjust the situation. I think the time visiting animals should be limited when they are busy but other than that they have been so helpful in our adoption process, after care and phone calls. He's doing so well. I can't recommend this shelter enough. read more

Very disappointing. After donating much money to this organization & adopting a cat & a dog, I Brought my dog in & only saw a vet tech. They said they don't allow the vet/surgeon to talk to the animals owner. Dog had surgery & still never was able to speak to the doctor. The dog also had a hot spot on his skin that the vet never noticed after I paid for an exam & shots. I asked them to look at it before I spent almost $1,000 to get his teeth cleaned & have a few extractions, I was told I'd have to come back. I was like what? My dog is there & just had surgery & u can't look at him after u missed it last month in an exam? Finally, after speaking to a supervisor they agreed to look at it & I was charged an extra $55 & prescribed pills & a crème to put on it. I picked up the pills then, they didn't have the crème yet & so I was supposed to pick up the crème, but they had one vet quit & the other left early so they were closing early Friday. They told me to come back in Monday. Unfortunately,I ended up at The Mayo Clinic on Monday & had lung surgery. I had given the dog his pills & 31 days later I went back for the crème & was told I was a day late, that they would have to charge me for another visit if I wanted it. They said they could only give it to me for 30 days. That was it!! I picked up my dogs records & said I'm never going back!! read more

Had a better experience coming back, all the staff and animals were super open friendly and helpful. Any cat that is surrendered or transferred here is very lucky to be able to reside here (even just for a short period of time) I'll definitely be coming back in the future read more

We went and looked at the cats that were up for adoption on a Saturday. We fell in love with one so we went back the next day (Sunday) to adopt her. Everything was great until Tuesday when we noticed that she has a huge hole in her belly. The hole on her belly was from her being spayed 6 days prior. Yes. They emailed me all the medical records etc. However, they failed to tell me in person " she just got spayed and should be wearing a cone for 2 weeks". So I'm alarmed and call our vet to bring her in. $307 later. My cat ripped open her stitches and has an ear infection in both ears and needs X, Y and Z. Oh, but since I didn't bring her back to the HS they aren't responsible. They also aren't responsible for lacking info that I should put a cone on her for the next 2 weeks. I've never owned a cat before so I don't know they dos and don't after being spayed. I was trusting the humane society. I was also told all the cats on the floor are spayed and ready to be adopted. So I ask " well, why was the cat not wearing a cone at the day that I visited?" .. Apparently they only cone cats that show "interest" in their incision. What?! I'm in total shock right now. If this is the "quality" of care the cat is receiving while they are there then I'm glad I didn't end up going back to have her checked out again. read more

I unfortunately had to put my dog down due to age and illness. I had used a local vet in Naples for a previous pet but decided on using the Humane Society this time. The experience was amazing. The staff was empathetic and caring. I had my dog for 15 years and this was a very tough thing for me to go through. The professionalism of this staff along with how they walked me through the process was 5 star service from beginning to end. I just wanted to thank the friendly staff at the Human Society Naples for their great treatment of me during the adoption process of my darling pooch, Pearl. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff was approachable, knowledgable and the facility is beautiful and clean. I had researched a few of the pups I was interested in before arriving at the facility, they patiently let me meet each of the (5) dogs I had listed. I got to meet each one in an amply sized fenced-in grassy area. This was awesome. When I narrowed my choices down to two pooches, I was able to bring my wire fox terrier in from the car to meet them both in a simulated living room area. The staff walked me through the whole thing and I eventually ended up with a wonderful dog who gets along with my formidable wire. I am so happy with my dog, adopting her was one of the best decisions I have ever made. She is now a jet-setter, having seen New York City, Cape Cod, Annapolis and Harrisburg in just 3 short months. She's my constant companion and I am forever grateful to the staff at Humane Society Naples for being part of our journey together. read more

I took my poodle to humane society to get nurtured. I gave him a bath and clipped before I went. When I picked him up he was full of feces. I was so discussed with how they didn't clean him up. I don't think they even cleaned up the table before doing the next dog. I mean he had it all over him. This is really horrific. There is no way he should have had feces in his head and back. They didn't even try to clean him off. Only if the table was dirty already. I would never go there again. Yes it's cheaper than the vets but not a clean environment at all. They also tattooed my dogs penis. Wtf is that all about. They didn't ask or tell me they were going to do that. Very disappointed in them. They had so many dogs done in one day. They don't care about the animal at all. Just the money . I would think the humane society would be a lot cleaner and caring for the animals. read more

I adopted a dog from here who was neutered while at the shelter. When I first took him home, I thought he just wasn't house trained. But after months of him peeing in the house, "leaking" while walking, and seeming to not be able to control it, I decided to take him to the vet. Apparently they had botched the surgery and messed up his bladder somehow and he will be unable to control his bladder for the rest of his life. If you're going to neuter the dogs, at least make sure it's someone who knows what they're doing! read more

I use to have faith in this facility with Dr. Dowdy..who has since moved on.to another office..my dog is 17 years old ..the love of my life.he has cancer and blind . Dr. she is so kind and regulated his issues .with medicine. we decided together that chemo and raditon is not an option at this point...I have spent every dime to keep my dog alive and he's doing well...bottom line ..I simply asked Four times for his sleep meds. .they will not refill. definitely got the run around...from staff and doctors..disgustingly.sick .poor judment. read more

I love the humane society, I used to volunteer there when I lived in Naples. I came back to visit today and the older gentleman at the door was extremely rude to me. When I entered he asked that I was looking for. I told him I was just looking around. He then again asked this time in an aggressive tone whether I was looking at cats or dogs, I answered both, he then again snapped back at me telling me to use the hand sanitizer, obviously I know to use the hand sanitizer.. I was offended considering I'm a former volunteer and was just visiting it see how it was going and I was greeted like that. Very disappointing. Get better staff or treat your visitors better. That's the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars. read more

Didn't. Care much. For this place. I have taken my Black Lab mix to a number of great vets and I brought him here to get his teeth cleaned they wanted to rob me for almost $500. And I get his teeth done for around $125 cause he's got pretty good teeth, no problems or dental work ever needed. Their attitude was pretty much cavalier and oh well so what, I prefer to go somewhere at least where they can at least act concerned. read more

Ridiculous. I called the clinic for a simple price range on a simple very common small node removal. The young girl answering the clinic line was rude and unhelpful. She simple wanted to pass me off and make me come it to see the surgeon. And would not give me ANY information. I was not asking a specific dollar amount, but for what I would believe to be an educated guess from I expected to be an experienced staff....guess I was wrong. I will be going elsewhere. So do adobt from them!! why I rate them 1 star because the clinic part is horrible.Only one of two people there are nice, the rest don't care and don't honor what they say. Dr Morton was excellent with my English bulldog Lucy during her visits. Things went really bad, however, after her ectropion surgery. She also had 4 teeth pulled, and a mass from her mouth removed. In the days after her surgery, she wasn't holding Food down. She'd regurgitate immediately sometimes. We kept calling the clinic, thinking she needed to be seen. They told us to give her Pepcid. Initially, it helped a little. Then it didn't. We kept calling, because obviously we were very concerned. They told us this was normal after surgery, to continue Pepcid, etc. It got worse, she got very weak. We kept calling, I was actually told by a girl in the office that I was overreacting! Last Friday, we called 4 times to get her in, they FINALLY told us to bring her in Saturday morning, drop her off, and they'd fit her in. Dr. Soto called my husband, said the scan showed something in her stomach, and she had to go to ASH for an endoscopy immediately. When he went to the clinic, she gave him all of the supplies ASH would need, said this had gone on way too long, it was their fault for not seeing her, she had to do battle with her office manager Daniel over it, and wrote off the bill. She said they'd obviously cover the bill at ASH. We took Lucy to ASH, they found nothing in her stomach, except severe irritation in her esophagus and stomach. She'd lost 5 lbs in 2 weeks! She was hospitalized for 2 1/2 days. 2 doctors told us it got so bad because the irritation wasn't treated in a timely manner. Yesterday, I called Daniel, the office manager. He denied that anything was a result of their negligence. He said that it didn't matter what Dr Soto said, they were paying nothing. I even emailed him phone records, showing all of the phone calls we made to them about the problem. He had Dr Morton call over to ASH, the Dr who didn't do the surgery, and wasn't even knowledgeable about the situation at this point. I called Daniel back, from ASH, and he had the audacity to tell me that yes, we called there a dozen times, but he said we were told to bring her in repeatedly! That is a lie!!! And he kept lying! At that point, I told him I was speaking to an attorney, which I have. I'm pursuing this so that others don't go through the nightmare we, and more importantly, Lucy went through. You should be ashamed!!!!! read more

I came here to get an estimate on my puppy getting neutered, he is my world, the staff seemed to have very little knowledge or lack of resources to educate pet owners, it looks like a place that just wants to see how much money they can get out of pet owners within the 30 rushed minutes you are in a waiting room, they don't check pets in front of you and unfortunately they convinced me of allowing them to give my pet a vaccine that was not needed. I had to ask what are the side effects because I was not informed of it, as soon as I get home my puppy starts crying in pain, i called the clinic to ask were did they inject the vaccine, the girl tells me oh it was on his left butt,, my poor puppy cannot seat or lay to sleep, I'm pretty sure they botched my poor baby, that's why all procedures are never done in front of you, I will never go to this place again, also price is very very high. They need to provide better service and understand that pets are family to most people that visit the clinic. Treat them with kindness. read more

My son and I came here and thought that it was a wonderful facility and we love the fact that it is no-kill. However, I was absolutely disgusted by the employees and their attitudes. With the exception of 1 younger male, the staff was nothing but rude, snobby, and unhelpful. I felt as if I was being lectured when I asked if my son and I could get acquainted with a dog. These people acted as if we were bothering them and interrupting them when we asked if we could see a dog. We have visited twice, and the people in charge have turned me off to the establishment. Aside from the abundance of employees who lack social skills and manners, it seems like a safe, clean and nurturing facility for animals. We ended up adopting our Yorkie from a shelter in Clearwater and I have pointed my friends and family in the direction of other adoption-facilities due to the horrible people that work there. I also have heard the same complaint heard from several people who have visited. If anyone in charge at HSN is reading this (provided that you are not as rude and ignorant as your vet techs, directors and other employees), your cats and dogs have better manners than the vast majority your employees (I've probably dealt with 10-15, and only one was kind and polite.) and most people agree with that. read more

I adopted a dog here and i must say he is the greatest dog i could have ever hoped for. How ever the vet part of this place is awful. I had an appointment for a friday to get my dog up to date on his shots and an all around annual check up. I usually get his flea and tick and heart worm pills online cause it is much cheaper then getting it from them. So they call me thursday and cancel my appointment because both doctors are gonna be out sick. So i make a new appointment for the following saturday. In the mean time they deny my dogs prescription online because he hasn't been in for his appointment (which was there fault). And now they have just called me saying they have to reschedule his saturday appointment cause the doctor wont be in again! does this place sound like they have my dogs best interest in mind?
