waffle bowl with fondant over krispie treats to look like ice cream scoops

What a fun night!! Went for a cake decorating class and my cake turned out beautiful! They were good at providing and showing instructions of what to do. The design looked complex initially but amazingly enough it really wasn't that difficult. I will definitely go again! They provide the cake and all of the supplies. You get a choice of funfetti, chocolate, vanilla or marble cake. You can bring you're own snacks and beverages. It was a great girls night out! The Cakery is located right on Center St. and that time of day , 5:30, there was plenty of parking!

I love to come here for the Cake night classes. At this time you can book a large party ( 10 people perhaps ?) and pay $50 per person for the materials and their instructions. We usually BYOB and brings a few snacks to enjoy while we decorate our cakes. They pre-cook the cylindrical cakes and you tell them ahead of time which flavor you want: funetti, vanilla, red velvet and chocolate are some of the options. They teach about frosting the 'crumb layer, how to bag your buttercream frosting in the plastic piping bags. How to smooth the frosting lines to make it sort of ombre in appearance. Depending on the cake you sign up for they show you how to make simple fondant characters. I'm probably not using the correct terminology but you get the idea. The work tables could be a little larger so you have more room to work and snack but that's really my only suggestion.

    Alcohol Infused Cupcakes

Best place in the New Haven area for custom cakes and cupcakes by far! Ordered these running themed alcohol infused cupcakes for a birthday and Alyssa knocked it out of the park!

The BEST cupcakes! I've had their cakes in the past at birthdays but I finally got around to trying their cupcake! We ordered a dozen cupcakes, as we really could not decide on which ones to get! Some of the ones we got (pictured: Top (L-R): Lemon, Chocolate, Chocolate with Vanilla Frosting, Key Lime Pie Second Row: Reese's, Caramel Macchiato, Creamsicle, Grasshopper Bottom: Carrot Cake, (a chocolate one I can't remember the name of), Chocolate Truffle, Almond Joy) I can't wait to go back and get more!

    Wedding rehearsal cake

Absolutely loved my cake for my rehearsal dinner! Red velvet vintage style heart cake was a hit! Super easy to order through email with inspo pictures. Alyssa knew exactly what I wanted and knocked it out of the park!

Cute little bakery shop in prime area in Wallingford. Walking distance to alot of shops in the area . They have the cutest mini cupcakes in many different flavors from original to apple spice (filled inside too) and larger ones like Pumpkin Truffle,S'mores,Apple cider and Sweet & Salty with a chip and pretzel ontop. The make cakes to order here and a few of my friends said they were great . They sell coffee and drinks too. I noticed they have Keto mini cheesecakes and Fat Bombs in flavors if you are on that diet . Stroll by and take a look at the flavors they have and grab some treats for the family today ! Update later on in the day ... I had eaten my Apple cider donut cupcake and it was pure bliss. Perfectly cooked and the buttercream delicious. The cider in the pipette was a good touch . Loved it !

Tim and I spontaneously visited this bakery after seeing a group selling some items on the sidewalk for a Wallingford street event. I'm glad we went inside! They do some awesome mini cupcakes. The Mississippi mudpie and grasshopper were our favorites. The Samoa was ok, though it was mainly because of the 1/4 cookie on the top; the flavor didn't resonate otherwise. Still, creative execution! Together, 4 mini cupcakes were just over $4 including tax. Inside is very frilly and on the girlier side of bakeries. Nothing wrong with that! They do some awesome things with sprinkles!

My cake at winter ladies night, I was super happy to share this on Christmas with family!

I've been to Alyssas for two different events, one she hosted for my Girl Scout troop, where every girl decorated a cake in their flavor, with a great lesson on using & dying fondant for decoration, the next was a ladies night that the store periodically hosts near holidays (reservations for these fill fast so jump on it if you see it on FB or Insta) the ladies night was super fun, drinks (byob) beautiful cakes for Christmas a wonderful evening.

    Camo baby boots cake

Wow! Amazing! Just some of the words to describe the cake we bought for my daughter's baby shower. Met with a staff member to place the order and sent pic of what I wanted. It was better than I imagined. Price was comparable to other places but their customer service at those bakeries was less than acceptable Thank you Alyssa's Cakery for a great job!

This door is usually closed but they are open!

I really like Alyssa's Cakery (and I'm a big cake snob). I've only had their mini cupcakes so far but they have been consistently good. There is always a wide variety to choose from - obviously this depends on the time of day as there are fewer choices closer to closing time. It's a cute little place located in the center of town. There are a couple of tables - I believe they serve coffee too but I've never eaten in. They also sell a couple of other knick knacks (e.g. mugs). Each time I've been there, the staff have always been friendly and helpful. Just placed a large order over the phone and they were really nice and super helpful (I mention this because some places are terrible when you call to place orders). They do regular cakes in addition to the cupcakes and I've heard rave reviews about those - for taste and decoration. Love this place and I'll be back :-)

I ordered a cake for my boyfriend's birthday and it not only was perfect and a huge hit, but the cake was absolutely delicious and everyone loved it! I'm very happy I found this bakery in my town and I highly recommend trying the for your next occasion.

I have been lacking on writing this review when it is truly deserved . I had a cake made for a baby shower and let me tell you , it was great .

The cake for my daughter's birthday was not only beautiful but was also so delicious! We got the funfetti cake with the chocolate filling on one tier and the canolli filling for the other tier! People are still talking about how delicious the cake was!

I highly recommend don't waste anymore time looking elsewhere Alyssa's will not disappoint

I found their offerings interesting and inventive but I wasn't blown away. I like that the pastries are properly baked so they are darker and more crisp than most places. The guava one was good, but very messy as there were square, white chunks of filling mixed with the guava preserves so they were loose and fell out when I bit into it. The Cinnabon style bun was completely cooked through, which I appreciate since the actual Cinnabons tend to be doughy inside. These ones are glazed with a bit of icing instead of cream cheese frosting; I enjoyed it, but I would have liked a little more. The chocolate croissant was generously filled with a good, dark chocolate, just the right amount, just loose enough to coat the inside. I didn't taste any orange in the orange poppy muffin and I'm not a fan of strusel topping on a muffin, as I like muffin tops. All in all not bad, I will give it another try if next time I have a weekend day off.

Once again I had difficulty choosing a breakfast pastry because all looked so mouth watering. This time I settled on a pair of blueberry buns that proved to be larger than expected so on returning home my wife and I decided to share one and save the other for the following day. Unfortunately the outside of the bun was too dense and flavor lite though the much smaller, interior part, was as delicious as expected. I will no doubt be returning in the not too distant future to sample more of their delicious pastries as should you.

#40 in my NEW ENGLAND & NY COFFEE SHOP SERIES…read more This is an Asian-owned, female-owned bakery and coffee shop with delicious Asian-inspired pastries and fun drinks! We came on a Sunday around 10:30am and they were almost out of some of their pastries. Definitely go there earlier. But that just shows how fresh everything is! Firstly, all of the pastries looked delicious! It was so hard to just pick one so we needed up picking 3. Cheesy hotdog bread, kbbq short rib bread, and a cranberry cream cheese pastry. They were all SOOO GOOD! The bread is so soft and the flavors were delicious. They have lots of fun seasonal drinks, caffeinated and non-caffeinated. They also have boba! I got an ube banana latte and my friend got their seasonal Coquito latte which was recommended. Both were delicious (and very strong). The service was immaculate. I didn't catch the cashier's name but she was younger with brown hair. The sweetest person ever! Definitely made the experience more enjoyable. The owner, Chan also gifted us a piece of delicious oreo cake for fun! It was so yummy and not too sweet. I cannot recommend this place enough!

I've been wanting to try out From Chan for awhile now, ever since I saw a YouTube video featuring…read morethem. We took a ride over this weekend and checked it out. First of all the owner and employees are wicked friendly and appreciative of your business. I definitely got the make-you-feel-like family vibe they offer. It was noticed and appreciated. They have a display of all the days baked goods, lots of different danish, cinnamon rolls, and really interesting pizza-like items. I went basic though and just got a regular coffee and egg and bacon sandwich. The sandwich was good, it was basically a cheesy omelette on a very fresh roll. I enjoyed it. The coffee, wasn't the freshest though and honestly a little burnt and plastic-y tasting. I also tried the blueberry cheese danish which was delicious. What I didn't really enjoy, yet understand to a degree, is the pricing and the itemized fees on the receipt. They are a small business, so I understand the struggles and necessity. However they are charging an "Inflation Service Charge" of 4% on top of the subtotal. My receipt also indicated another "Service Charge" of 4%, presumably because I paid with a credit card. In the end, a coffee, a latte, an egg sandwich, and a danish, 7.35% tax, and a tip cost me over $40. I think to me, it is psychological, while I understand they need to increase what customers pay, I guess I just rather they build it into the listed item price rather than tack it on at the end.

A few of my foodie friends put me on game regarding this place that's about a 25-minute drive for me, but always so worth it. Here's why I love it so much! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set in the center of Wallingford a little off of the main drag of Center Street is this humble gem. You can park on the street for free if there's space or in the plaza parking lot right up the block from them. Once in the door you're welcomed by several smiling faces and that makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE! This place is predominately made for takeout. There are no physical tables, but you certainly can pop a squat on the benches near the back of the restaurant if you'd like. Service: There isn't necessarily table service since all you do is order at the counter and wait until your name is called, but the people there are so sweet, soft and will just make your day! They're also full of personality and their social media posts are super funny. Lol. Food: I've had several things from their menu here including the Backyard BBQ Sandwich, Savannah Wrap, Vegan BBQ Mac & Jack Bowl, The Hungry Slope, BCB, Roast Beef and more! These are some of the highest quality, made-with-love sandwiches, tastiest, creative sandwiches around! I just love how every several months they change the menu up introducing new flavors for the season so you never know what you're gonna get! Of course the favorites stay on the menu! Value: These sandwiches aren't cheap, but you have to pay for quality. Expect to spend between $11.00 and $15.00 here for a good meal. Then add on whatever else for drinks or sides, but it's worth it. In conclusion, I love this place, I just wish they were closer AND that they were opened on weekends, but they keep the hours tight to allow their employees to have lives. I give them even more respect for that! Check this place out soon!
