    Assorted donuts

Holy cow! These are seriously delicious large donuts. My coworker brought in an assorted box and it was super hard to make up my mind because they all looked so good. I'm a sucker for jelly/filled donuts, so I went for a blueberry crumb donut and did not regret my decision. The donut was dipped in glaze and topped with lemon crumb. Amazing! Despite there been more donuts left, I was stuffed. So, if you're trying to decide, choose wisely because one donut is enough to keep you full for a while.

Neil's Donuts OG location is bright and welcoming with lots of friendly faces! Go early and know what you want because it gets busy inside. The whole family loves the donuts, definitely worth the drive every time.

Definitely worth the hype! Walked in and the line was almost out the door, but that didn't stop the staff from being quick but friendly with getting their customers situated. I purchased a dozen of donuts of various flavors and honestly it was a great price 17.45. Mind you I even got a few filled donuts such as the key lime and apple filled. No seating in Neil's however that does not take away from how great Neil's Donuts is! Wish I was closer!

    I took the last ones!

Donuts are great! Get there early or place an order because they're so good that they sell out!

Neil's Donuts is an absolute gem! We unfortunately live out of state but if we lived nearby we'd be here all the time. The selection is huge with donuts, breakfast sandwiches, muffins and coffee, and while the lines can be long, they move quickly. Pro tip: check out the menu online ahead of time so you're ready to order. The staff is fantastic--friendly, patient, and efficient, even with the crowd. The donuts themselves are out of this world. My favorite was the honey dipped, while my husband loved the blueberry crumble. Their filled donuts are especially impressive--split in half and packed with a generous amount of filling. Every bite just melts in your mouth. If you're anywhere near Neil's, don't pass this place up. It's worth the trip!

Best donuts in CT! Love all the flavors they have but the French toast is my personal favorite! We also got a garlic bagel with cream cheese, which was yummy too!

Delicious donuts here that are always made fresh and they are huge! Easy in and out . Staff is friendly and accommodating. Prices are fair too.

All I can say is "Next!" If you are a sinfeld fan you will know. But I'm all honesty what a great place. Even though you move through the line at the speed of lightning you are treated with respect. Friendly staff, great prices and delicious donuts. You have to be crazy to drive by. It is worth a day trip.

2.2.25 This is one of those long overdue & well deserved reviews. I was here on election day 11.3.20 to try them for the first time. They did not disappoint at all. I was here a half hour before they closed and they were still very fresh. They were just about sold out but the slim pickings were fresh. The staff was very pleasant. This place started picking up and they were about to close. I was surprised to see this. I tried a few different donuts. The apple filled, apple crumb that was also apple filled, powdered jelly & boston cream. All of the donuts were filled plenty with their respective filings which was a delight to see for a change. Fresh, light & fluffy. Quality ingredients. The closer I looked, these donuts look like sandwich. Each that I studied looked like a sandwich filled with yummy goodness. It looks like they construct it as a sandwich which is kind of cool & different. The look of the place inside and out is a no frills plain generic look to it. Nothing wrong with that at all. Just saying. I don't need a place to look good. I only need a clean establishment with great food. I've been back here too many times to count since my first endeavor on an epic election day in 2020. They're doing everything right here. No problems at all. They keep you coming back for more.

stopped at Neil's Donuts before work this morning and i can't believe how busy it was so early in the morning! The staff is so quick and efficient and the whole place smells like sweets galore (as it should). Not only are the donuts are amazing, but all the donuts are packed with flavors and their toppings and yet so light and fluffy! And only $2 a donut? Most places would charge almost $4 for these types of donuts! Wherever you are in Connecticut, it is truly worth the trip!

Ask the Community - Neil's Donuts

If I call ahead to come by to pickup an order, can I do curbside pickup?

Yes curbside is available. We also have Uber eats in the Wallingford store and DoorDash in the Middletown location if that would help too

What time does one have to be there to get a coffee roll?

Everyday is completely different. Ever since the article about our coffee rolls it’s hard to keep up with demand. Some days they sell out early. Other days were throwing them out. It depends on social media. Everytime they release the story it goes…

Can you call ahead to order donuts/bagels to be picked up at a specific time?

Yes in fact I recommend doing so

    How much is a donut?

    $49.95 plus tax.

    Do they sell gift certificates?

    Yes

    What's the prices?

Depends on what you are comparing to. Let's use DD. If you were buying a muffin, DD's are $1.79 and have a cake like texture. Neil's are like a muffin and larger. Danish you can't get anywhere except a bakery. Neil's are so huge it's ridiculous and…

I found their offerings interesting and inventive but I wasn't blown away. I like that the pastries are properly baked so they are darker and more crisp than most places. The guava one was good, but very messy as there were square, white chunks of filling mixed with the guava preserves so they were loose and fell out when I bit into it. The Cinnabon style bun was completely cooked through, which I appreciate since the actual Cinnabons tend to be doughy inside. These ones are glazed with a bit of icing instead of cream cheese frosting; I enjoyed it, but I would have liked a little more. The chocolate croissant was generously filled with a good, dark chocolate, just the right amount, just loose enough to coat the inside. I didn't taste any orange in the orange poppy muffin and I'm not a fan of strusel topping on a muffin, as I like muffin tops. All in all not bad, I will give it another try if next time I have a weekend day off.

Once again I had difficulty choosing a breakfast pastry because all looked so mouth watering. This time I settled on a pair of blueberry buns that proved to be larger than expected so on returning home my wife and I decided to share one and save the other for the following day. Unfortunately the outside of the bun was too dense and flavor lite though the much smaller, interior part, was as delicious as expected. I will no doubt be returning in the not too distant future to sample more of their delicious pastries as should you.

They were all SOOO GOOD! The bread is so soft and the flavors were delicious. They have lots of fun seasonal drinks, caffeinated and non-caffeinated. They also have boba! It has taken me way too long to write this review, but I only recently started reviewing some of…read morethe places I've loved over the years, and The Eatery absolutely deserves one. When I lived in Wallingford for about three years, The Eatery became one of my places. I would stop in for breakfast before work, or someone from my team would make the breakfast run. At least once a month, we had to have an Eatery morning. We ordered lunch from here too, so over time this little place became part of our routine. When I eventually left Wallingford, my team actually bought me my last breakfast sandwich from The Eatery before I left. It sounds like such a small thing, but it was honestly bittersweet because they knew how much I loved this place. And years later? It's still just as good. One of the biggest reasons The Eatery has always stood out to me is the customer service. Everyone I've encountered has been sweet, polite and welcoming, but I especially have to mention Sam. Over the years, she became one of those people who made you feel like more than just another customer. She genuinely got to know her regulars. There were times I'd place my order online and it felt like she already knew I was coming. I'd walk through the door and she'd have everything ready. She has always been incredibly kind, caring and attentive, not only with me, but with the customers around her as well. That kind of customer service is something you remember. My son has been eating their food since he was around one year old, and he STILL loves it. Now whenever we're back in Connecticut for his appointments, my mom will ask, "Can we please stop at The Eatery?". Sometimes we're able to make it and sometimes we're not, but this past Friday we finally did. I ordered my favorite kind of breakfast: a bacon, egg & cheese on a pretzel roll. SO GOOD. The pretzel roll with the warm egg, bacon and melted cheese is such a perfect combination. My mom ordered her bacon, egg & cheese on ciabatta, and my son had one as well. Although apparently his wasn't enough, because he ended up stealing mine. Apparently Mom's food always tastes better. I also tried what I believe was their watermelon mint refresher/tea, which was refreshing and perfect with breakfast, while my mom had a caramel coffee that she absolutely loved. And please don't think they're only a breakfast spot. Their lunch is just as good. I used to order their salads all the time during work, and they were always incredibly fresh. In fact, my coworkers were notorious for wanting some of my salad because they knew where it came from. Everything always tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared rather than like something that had been sitting around. Another thing I love is seeing how much this place has grown. I remember what it was like when I first discovered it, and coming back years later and seeing what they've created is wonderful. They've added so much personality while somehow keeping the same warm feeling and the same wonderful people. The atmosphere is adorable. It's bright, clean, modern and welcoming, with tons of beautiful greenery, hanging plants, warm wood tones, woven light fixtures and fun pops of color. The big "Hello Wallingford!" mural is such a cute touch. There are little details everywhere, but it doesn't feel overdone, it has that relaxed neighborhood café feeling where you can grab your food and go or just enjoy being there. I also love how they change things up for the seasons and different occasions. They always seem to have something fun going on, especially around fall and the holidays, and I believe they offer catering as well. Funny enough, before I discovered The Eatery, I had driven past it so many times without realizing what I was missing. Once I finally stopped in, it became somewhere I went for years. If you live in Wallingford, you need to try this place. And honestly, even if you're coming from North Haven, New Haven or elsewhere in the area, make the drive. It's worth it. I may not live in Connecticut anymore, but whenever we're back in the area, The Eatery is still one of those places my family wants to stop. The food is delicious, the ingredients taste fresh, the atmosphere is beautiful, and most importantly the people have remained just as kind and welcoming as I remember them. Some restaurants are simply places you eat. The Eatery became part of my memories of living in Wallingford, and that's probably the best compliment I can give them. Keep telling them they need a second location in another state! Everyone deserves to try how amazing they are
