To be honest, calling Nonni's a "bakery" really shortchanges Grandma, because it is SO much more than that. Yes, of course they sell an incredible variety of beautifully crafted cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and cannolis, but you can also buy breakfast sandwiches, pizza, stromboli, arancino, stuffed breads, grinders, chicken cutlets and more. Their store is awesome, and you'll find yourself staring at their showcases and refrigerated cases. Service is top notch, with plenty of helpful and smiling folks helping you. We picked up an eclectic group of odds and ends - croissants, donuts, danishes, and a big arancini stuffed with meat and vegetables. Their bakery is amazing -with wonderful looking breads, rolls, pastries, cupcakes, pies, Danish, cookies, donuts and specialized goodies in every shape, color, and description under the sun. Today, we picked up a gorgeous loaf of marble rye bread, six of their famous handmade donuts, and three Danish. I had a glazed donut this afternoon and it was light, sweet and pretty much fantastic. I believe the manager, then went up to the cashier, looked at the register and with an attitude said, well, we didn't charge you anyway! Shrugged her shoulders and walked away. I thought that to be rude, considering that we decided to go to them instead of McDonald's or Wendy's and we probably would've had a better breakfast. On a side note, they appear to have an espresso machine, however, only offer half-and-half and whole milk.

While I can't speak for all the desserts, they still seem to know what they are doing. It's not easy maintaining this type of specialty business as the market of patrons and tastes is a bit different.
