I am so devastated to hear the horror stories from other customers regarding this company. I can honestly say I didn't have a bad experience. We had an emergency late in the evening where we came home and found out that our kitchen window had been broken. It wasn't something we could wait for until the next day because it was a massive hole in our window. Bugs and little critters from outside could easily make their way in. We called the company a little bit after 7pm and he surprisingly said he could meet us that night to take measurements of the window. He told us up front that if the window was longer than 60 inches, he would not be able to replace it that night. He proceeded to ask us for our home address and to text him photos of the window. I asked him for a rough estimate on how much it would cost to get the windows replaced and he gave us a fair price. We agreed and he told us he would be there in about 1 hour. He arrived about an hour later and began examining the window. He told us that based on the photos we had texted to him, he thought the cost of the windows would be the amount he originally quoted to us, but based on the actual size of the windows after he measured it, the windows would be less money. He cleaned up the glass and carefully removed the windows. He told us he would leave and be back in about an hour from that time and sure enough, he returned with some new windows. He installed them perfectly and we paid him upon completion of the work. He even offered to come back at a later time and conduct a home estimate on how much it would be to have new windows installed. He was very polite and very helpful to us and we were so grateful that he was able to assist us that late in the day. read more

I've had great experience with Malcolm and as a realtor, we are of the demanding breed and I'm thankful for all of the work Malcolm has done. We had a great experience working with Malcolm from AM PM Glass. There was a crack in a window on top of our deck doors. My family had dealt with a "larger" company (Gaithersburg Glass) in the past and had recommended them. They did decent work but it takes awhile to get an appointment. So, we decided to take a chance and shop around. Malcolm came out to estimate. He was polite and courteous. He provided a more than fair price and we decided to go with his service. Glad we did because the process was painless. Once the custom window was ready, he called me and installed it next day. The new window looks great and he cleaned up all the debris from the old one. Be aware of this business!!! If I could give zero stars I would. I had an appointment for an estimate for glasses (front whole piece of glasses was broken, we are like camping). He showed up and we paid the deposit, he said this would take 3-5 business days. After 5 days, no news, he won't answer the phone call. I called almost every day. Finally, he answered and said the glass will be here tomorrow. But tomorrow, no news, as always, I started to think this is a scam! I called again and again, he never answered or showed up with the glass. I finally gave up after trying 2 weeks calling, and we do need the glass. This is why businesses fail. read more

My wife and I moved into our town home almost a year and a half ago, and since then we've been doing a lot of work to bring the place up to our style. The first thing that had to go was the wallpaper in the bathroom! So a year and a half ago, I made the mistake of trying to remove a 40x60 mirror from the master bathroom wall myself, it hit the counter, and broke in half. I've spent the last year and a half doing other upgrades and small touches around the house, finally removing all that wallpaper and getting the walls painted, but I never got around to the mirror. Every place I turned didn't have a mirror this size in stock, and custom mirrors, even simple frameless mirrors looked to cost up to $500. My wife finally had enough of me shaving over her sink so I could see in the medicine cabinet mirror, and we reached out to AM-PM glass for an estimate. I received an estimate within 24 hours, broken down into materials and labor. I was floored at how reasonable the prices were, dare I say inexpensive, and after putting it off for over a year, I decided to finally get this taken care of. Shortly after, I received a follow up email for Malcolm to come out and measure to be sure he got it right. The measurements were simple... 40x60, so most companies would have gladly taken my money, given me a mirror and hoped it fit. But for something so simple, he made the trip out, showed up right on time, measured the wall, and even made slight alterations to the measurement to make its positioning on the wall a little more appealing. My schedule is a bit erratic working retail, especially around the holidays, so Malcolm and I kept in contact until we found a day that worked for both of us. He came by today to install the mirror and it looks great. He's a super personable guy who clearly takes pride in not just the quality of the product, but delivering on a great customer experience. After a year and a half of small projects and repairs from different companies, I've found very few who stand first for the customer, and Malcolm proved to be exactly that. The mirror? It's exactly has described, no imperfections, chips, scratches, etc. The cost? Hard or impossible to beat. The service? Second to none. Thanks to Malcolm and AM-PM glass for their great work. We really lucked out with this company! We had a broken window in the middle of winter so we wanted to have it taken care of; but this being our first house money was a bit tight. We called up AM-PM and Malcolm, despite being booked, was able to come to our house for an estimate the next day. After taking measurements and providing us with a quote Malcolm volunteered to tape the cracks in the window to prevent any pieces from falling and harming anyone. This little bit of above and beyond behavior is indicative of the type of treatment we received throughout the process. Because it was a specific type of window there were parts that needed to be ordered. Even through the 2 weeks it took for the window to come in AM-PM was great; they stayed in contact with me and kept me updated on what was going on. To simply underline the amazing service we had received the price was about HALF the cost of any of the closest estimates we got. I'm not exaggerating when I say AM-PM was half-price of their competitors. As a new home owner it is extremely satisfying to find a company so dedicated to their customers and so well priced. Malcolm was so great to communicate with. I reached out to him blindly in search of someone that could install a backdoor for me. I had already purchased everything, including caulk, shims, the door and jamb (pre-hung), and the handle. Malcolm reassured me the estimate was going to be exactly what it was when he came out (many other companies would come out just to try and sell me their own door). He came out exactly when he said he would with his partner and the installation took maybe 2 hours. They ran into a tiny issue with how the door I was replacing was hung (they fixed it no issues) and did all the caulking and clean up immaculately. I would highly suggest AM-PM glass. The rollers in our ancient, drafty sliding glass doors finally gave out, and it was evident from our first consultation that Malcolm was more interested in leaving me a happy customer rather than upselling me into services or options I didn't need to maximize his profits. He's definitely the type of guy you want to do business with - a personable, knowledgeable professional who's committed to doing the job right. After introducing himself to our basset hound, Malcolm took apart the doors to determine exactly what each one needed, which he kept to a minimum. For example, instead of just recommending that we replace the tracks, which wouldn't have surprised me as they're just as old as the doors, he inspected them and determined they were still in decent shape. When it came time to do the repairs, he was extremely concerned about getting the doors in the best shape possible. I'm extremely impressed with how easily they open and close now, and he greatly improved the seal around the doors and they are noticeably less drafty. I called the number, it went to voicemail (3rd company called) within 10 minutes he returned my call, long before any of the previous 3... he came out within 2 hrs of the call-back, showed him the 1 dbl pane/dbl hung basement window, older MW windows with no serial # so he had to open the scribe moulding to get an accurate measurement of the thickness and size of the glass. 15 minutes later he informed me that the glass would have to be ordered as it was not immediately in-stock and said it would be 3-5 business days to get it in and the price was well below what Gaithersburg Glass Co quoted me too... all in all, it took less than a week ( Malcolm came by last night and installed the new piece) I've worked with and for a few of the Fortune 500 Service Related Companies and this guy gives you superior service and a comfort level with the knowledge of his craft... Oh and barely blinked an eye when my 100 lbs of black lab/pit bull almost went thru the glass door when he first came knocking lol, can't say the same for his helper he had that day he kinda kept Malcom between the dogs and his self lol....anyway, You won't go wrong with these guys...price, quality AND service!?! I had a "foggy" double-pane door that needed the glass to be replaced. Malcolm was able to give me the cheapest quote over yelp in no time! I called 3 other places and he just offered the best price. I learned the process that needed to take to fix the door by talking to all these people that came to give me a quote. Also with some googling I learned that there was no real art in doing this fix. All of them(glass places) have to order the door with a glass factory of some sort and the glass comes pre-sealed with argon gas in between. They just install it. So regardless, i'm going to get two pieces of glasses on my door to supposedly block the heat/cold. I'm not worried about the thickness of the glass. I'm sure there is an industry standard. There's no good quality bad quality glass per se. And i barely touch that door. It really serves me as a window more than a door. So what the heck. I'm going to find the cheapest! Malcolm responded quickly and was on time once we scheduled the install. Being able to communicate with him on yelp made a world of difference. He paid attention to details and made sure he wiped off all the excess goo on the door. He was so nice and answered all my questions and was so easy to talk to. I asked for a stack of cards to put in my management office because the place they recommended costed 50% more. read more

Malcolm and company were recommended by a family member after the bottom sash for one of the windows in our home disintegrated following weeks of heavy rain. While they were over for an initial estimate, we also inquired about fitting/cutting glass lids for an old, oddly-shaped, aquarium (110 gallon, 6-foot long, flat back hexagon). Both the window and lids were done in a timely manner and very reasonably priced. The window installation went quickly and the installation crew was clean, courteous, and very professional. They arrived within a half hour of their scheduled time and even did the work on a Saturday to help accommodate our work schedules. I'm a first time landlord and after having my property sit vacant for three months I decided to put a few aesthetic fixes in place so I could finally find a renter. AM-PM Glass replaced the window in my foggy sliding glass door as well as other windows in the home that had fogged up over time. The service was great and the price was fair. Malcolm trouble shot a problem with my patio door that made it difficult to open and close. He was able to quickly replace the rollers and put the door back on track when other contractors told me I needed to completely replace the door because the model had been discontinued. Tried this place a second time based on our good experience previously. Wanted a new front door, storm door, and a screen door for our porch. Locked in a price, and received an invoice. Malcolm took our Screen door to be measured so they could make another one. Attempted contact via email, text, and phone since Mid-November to put a down-payment on the items, with no response. Finally texted again yesterday and he told me he would be out that evening, telling me he was on vacation previously. Okay, I get everyone needs a vacation now and then, but you could have at least done one of the following. Let us know you were going on vacation, e-mail us when you got back from vacation, or texted/replied to my multiple texts and calls asking for our screen door back. He texted me yesterday saying he would return the screen door in the evening... Never showed up, never let us know he wasn't coming. I CAN'T EVEN GET MY OWN SCREEN DOOR BACK. UPDATE: Finally got my screen door back a few days later. It was left out front of my door in the pouring rain, no call, no email or message, no nothing. I'll give'em that much but it still doesn't change my overall opinion. read more

Malcolm came out to look at a window with broken glass that needed to be replaced. After toying around with it for over 20 minutes, he said he just couldn't do it. The windows are very old (historical building) and the frame had incredibly small screws and a spring function he was afraid of breaking if he tried to force it. Rather than try to remove the frame and leave us with a broken frame, he was honest about not have the special tools to fix it. He also referred us to Blaine Window Repair in Silver Spring as they specialize in old parts. I would highly recommend Malcolm and AM-PM Glass for his honesty and integrity. read more

My son broke my window on Saturday morning...I did not know who to call so i immediately got on Yelp and searched for glass replacement companies..i saw AM/PM glass with great reviews so i decided to give them a call. Within a few hours, Malcolm was at my house taking measurements. i was told that the standard timeframe was 5-7 business days for the glass to be fabricated. I needed it sooner than that since i had a party planned at my house the next weekend. No problem, for a very small fee, i was able to expedite my order and have it replaced in time. In addition, i needed a glass top for my wicker table. the top looks great, seems extremely durable, and has beveled edges to finish the look. Malcolm is awesome. He charges a good rate - not cheap but windows installation is one of those "you get what you pay for" and Malcolm is quality but affordable. I picked him because when he came over to provide a quote for a broken window, he immediately took out the broken pane of glass and secured the window, for free and without me requesting, just because it was the right thing to do so broken glass wouldn't continue to fall down and be a safety hazard. He's also been out twice since for free to do adjustments because I went with repair on my old special-needs windows until I can save up for replacements. He talked through replacements with me and made sure I understood all the options through every step of the process. He's even custom making me a screen that can be dismantled. What more could I say about AM-PM Glass? They did a wonder job with my unusual request. I did not need a new sliding glass door, nor did I need one repaired. I simply needed my current sliding glass door to my basement removed so that I could bring in furniture that was too wide to fit (Which had been sitting under our deck all day because we couldn't get it past the door). I called Malcolm in the morning and he came out that afternoon and handled my needs perfectly. He and is assistant even moved the couch in for my wife and I and also greased the panels so that the sliding doors slid better. This request was so unusual for Malcolm that he didn't even know what to charge us. He was very gracious and humble for what we paid him for his efforts. When the time comes when we need new windows or a sliding glass door, we will definitely be using AM-PM Glass again. read more

Unfortunately my experience was the exact opposite of most others. I spoke to Malcolm, texted photos of my windows and said he would be out the next day at 3:30. I leave work early and am home by 3:15. At 4:15 when nobody had arrived or called, I called and left a message to see if anyone was still coming out. I never got a call back, nobody showed up. I don't understand why contractors do this--if they change their mind about a job (don't have time, job is too small, whatever) then why don't they just call or text to cancel? It makes no sense to me to make an appointment if they have no intention of keeping it. read more

We paid attention to the excellent reviews for Malcolm and were extremely pleased with his prompt response. He came out and gave us an estimate, showing up as promised. He came back to remeasure since we added an extra window, and kept that appointment. The estimate took a little longer than we had hoped to arrive, but looked fine. Then the problems started. It took several emails and phone calls over a period of weeks to get clarification and confirmation of the model number and installation date. Now, after 5 phone messages (15 unanswered phone calls) and 3 emails and 1 text over a period of 3 weeks, we are unable to reach Malcolm at all. We wanted to pay by credit card and asked how. No response. We wanted to confirm the date and time. No response. Something is very wrong with this business and it no longer appears to be a good bet. read more

I called AM PM Glass to inquire about two small window repairs. I was initially impressed. The woman who answered the phone was polite, and was able to schedule the estimate immediately. The gentleman, Malcolm, who came to provide the estimate was quite late. In fact, he was unable to complete the measurements that day as I had to leave my home. However, he was very courteous and the estimate was fair. I made a deposit, then service deteriorated. After receiving an email that the glass was finished it was difficult to get a response about installation time. The first time I scheduled a 1:00pm installation. Due to traffic, I arrived at my home at 1:05pm. Malcolm had already left. I received an email from him stating "Sorry we missed you today for our 1:00pm appointment. Please let me know next time your free and we try again." He did not even call or text to inquire if I was nearby. Upon being questioned, about this he said he did not have my phone number and he is always on time. Both of these are untrue. The second installation appointment, Malcolm arrived dressed in business casual attire. It was apparent he was not planning to work. I inquired about the cold temperature being a problem with the caulk. He assured me this would not be an issue. However, after setting up his ladder he told me it was too cold for the caulk to set and he did not have a small enough tip to caulk the window. He had previously looked at this window to create the estimate so I am unsure why he was not prepared with the correct materials. The third appointment Malcolm texted me at 12:13pm, for a 1:15pm appointment that he needed to reschedule as he was recovering from a wrist injury. After wasting three of my afternoons, Malcolm finally showed up to install the window. He left some items unfinished and said he would be back the next day at 11:00am to finish. I, unfortunately wrote him a check. He cashed the check immediately. Malcolm did not come back to complete the work. I called and texted him and received no response. He finally responded by text that he would call me. Malcolm called but did not leave a message. The work has not been completed to date. read more
