We had them install crash-bars on our entry doors and fix the lock on a side door. Our front door was out of commission for almost 3 weeks. They cut holes in our door that they never needed and never used. They left bright silver stainless steel bolts sticking out of our dark brown front door. I asked the owner to fix this and he claimed "they were there when we started". Not true, and still not fixed. They never did interim cleanup during the occasional day they worked so we had to cleanup the metal shavings ourselves. After they finished you could open our door from the outside by slipping a coat hanger through the big gap and pulling on the crash bar. We installed a hasp ourselves, there's no way we are calling them back again. They did get the crash bars to work eventually. There are two local locksmith shops that I like to call on -- AMPM in San Ramon and Dad's in Danville. I have used AMPM for car locks, car keys, re-keying of locks I have carried in and service calls at houses in the local area. Good service, fair prices. I have a slight preference for Dad's in Danville, but some times they are booked when I need a service call and AMPM is on my way to the freeway, so a very timely location for me to drop by and do business. Awesome!! Went to OSH, UPS Store, CVS, and none of these places could duplicate my simple mailbox key?! (because it was not in their system)... I was headed over to Home Depot -and decided to stop at AMPM (off of a hint from an Employee at one of the stores I had previously visited). And I am SO glad that I DID stop here!! Oustanding customer service! My key snapped in half when I was about to go home after work. My coworker took me to Orchard hardware store, but they couldn't help me. Then I called here 15 minutes before they closed. The owner told me to stop by and he'd be open for me. He and his team were attentive, explained what they were going to do, and quoted me a stellar price for a chip key copy especially for the extra work he had to do. My favorite part was how innovative he was to resolve the problem without costing an arm and a leg: he made 2 copies, 1 with a chip and 1 without. Then he offered to take me to my car where he would use my broken key with the new non-chip key to unlock the system for programming followed by the new chipped key that would then sync to my car's programming. When I told him my coworker would take me back but that I'd follow his instructions, he offered to stay at his store so I could call him if it doesn't work and said he would then drive out for free to help me. The key copies worked perfectly! They even felt like a smoother fit for my car than the original. Haha! He ended up staying 30 minutes after closing time to make sure I was taken care of! My remote for my car quit working, I went to the dealer and they wanted $95 for a new remote and $85 to program it and they had to order it. On 3/13/2017, I couldn't start my car with my key. I inserted the key but no click, no response. I called my car insurance for road site assistant and requested towing the car to my home. Early on a Saturday morning, the old, old lock on my front door broke, leaving me locked outside my house. I didn't know if anyone would answer on a Saturday morning before 9 AM. Naturally, I was pleased that someone answered the telephone and dispatched a locksmith. In less than half an hour, the old lock was out and replaced with two new locks, plus four sets of keys.
