He was a little earlier and was very pleasant. He got me in my house in just a few minutes. Then he made me a duplicate key for free. And honored the Yelp discount. We were referred to AMPM Locksmith by our auto shop to get a new key fob. The dealer wanted to charge us almost $400 to purchase and program a new key. My husband spoke to Chida and he gave us a deal that was about 1/3 the price! I would recommend AMPM if you need a new car key, don't go to the dealer. read more

I did not have a great experience with this locksmith. I explained over the phone that my front door lock was sticking and asked what could be done. I was hoping that they could just come out and repair the lock. He asked me to take a picture of the lock and bring it to the shop, which I did. He said I needed a new lock. I'm not sure how he could determine that by looking at a picture. The cost for the lock and a visit woulc come to about $140 or so. He came out the next day with a lock that didn't match the existing lock so the door would need to be repaired. He basically wasn't that interested in investigating the cause or determining the most effective way to fix the problem.It turned into a major ordeal. I declined and called another locksmith. The new locksmith took the existing lock off found the problem and it worked perfectly. He repaired a few other items on the door and even fixed my mailbox lock. All of this for half the price of the other locksmith plus I didn't need to repair the door. read more

This place sent their "technician" to use a slim Jim to pop open the door. The guy takes one look at the car and starts making up excuses about how my Lexus has a special security system and proceeds to tell me it's going to cost $140 to make a key. I take this guys tools and my girlfriend and I open the door by ourselves, use another locksmith that's worth your time and money. read more

Purchased 2 FOB keys, one broke and took it back: first the owner denied they were sold by them, upon showing the receipt then another story came up. I'm a fleet manager and I needed them to come out and have new keys made for one of my trucks. They made new ignition keys and bin keys for the utility bed. They even made a new remote to lock/unlock the doors without being asked. They told me when they called for payment that they had made a new remote for the truck, but I didn't have to pay for it if I didn't want it. I thought that was really nice of them to do that. They apparently left the new keys inside the truck and left the passenger door unlocked. One of the my guys had taken the keys and locked the all the doors. When my driver went to pick up the truck and found the doors locked, AMPM offered to go out and unlock the door free of charge. Fortunately, I found out who had the keys, but I thought that was really great customer service to offer to do that! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was they originally told me they would be out the same day, but apparently ran out of time and didn't get next day. read more

I called a couple numbers by Googling locksmiths in San Ramon and got referral agencies with reps that refuse to disclose where they are located which always makes me nervous. I finally found AM PM, verified that they were actually a San Ramon company and explained the problem. They had someone at my storage unit in 10 minutes and he had it open in another 10. We had AM PM come to our new home today to change out 2 locks. The locksmith, was very professional and nice. He provided us insight to the types of locks we had and was successful in re-keying one which we did not have a key for. The outcome was 2 locks re-keyed and 8 extra keys for $131. Can't beat the price for on-site service and quality. I would recommend them to fellow Yelp members. We also found out that,AM PM can make copies and provide remotes for your car far below dealers pricing. I needed to have duplicates made for my home key as well as for my RAV4. The prices are very reasonable: $3 for the home key and $7 for the car key. The service was prompt, I only waited for about 5-10 minutes. Not sure, but it seems the work was performed by the owner's daughter. Chida came out to at 10pm in the attemp to unlock my lock keys (I thought) in the trunk. After an hour plus, he was unable and promised to return in the morning. After another hour plus, he said he would contact the dealership in Monday morning with the VIN number to cut a new key. Fortunately,after he left, I located the keys not in the trunk but hidden away in the dash board. When I call of my stupidity, Chida did not charge me. He is a man of integrity. It is a Saturday which I am hoping would be a nice sunny relaxing day until I needed to get my pos car towed. On top of that, I couldn't find my master key & was in search for a locksmith under a time crunch. I just remembered the locksmith that helped me with my key fob for my other car & decided to give them a call. I called other company out there & OMG, the prices are so expensive for a 97' Acura! I got my house rekeyed and changed my mailbox lock. Henri was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and great at taking the time out to explain how the locks worked. He also double checked one of my door handle (that didn't have a lock on it) to make sure that it was functioning properly. He also made sure that my locks and keys were secure. One drawback was that they didn't show up on time but made up for it by their great service and reasonable fees. It was probably an off day since the other reviews don't seem to reflect it as the norm. I also had to give them 5 stars because I was able get an appointment almost right away.. Long story short i lost my keys for my vw jetta and the dealership wanted about $350 after programing fees and whatnot. I had no intention of paying anywhere close to that so I came here to see if they could make my key. WOW soooo much cheaper than the dealership and the gentleman who helped me was extremely personable. He had a new dealership key (not some cheap China replica). There was initially a problem with programing my key because of the way that i wired my stereo system that was interfering with how he coded the key. He went as far to come on his day off and do "whatever it takes" to get my key up and running by the next day! My mom even came in to get a few keys made and he was extremely helpful with and had hers ready to go within 45min! I highly recommend Coming here, they have gained a customer for life! read more

We needed to have our home re-keyed and, after checking Yelp, we decided to use this company. I called at the end of the day on Thursday, and they said they could send someone out on Saturday. I asked what time they could come. He told me 10 would be the earliest. I said 10 would be great and then he immediately said that we should change it to 10:30. I texted a few minutes after 10:30 just to make sure they were still coming (we've had experience with people just completely flaking and I didn't want to waste time). He assured me that the tech was on their way. 20 minutes later, I texted again as the tech still wasn't there. I said that I was going to leave unless I got an updated ETA. As I was packing up, over 30 minutes late, the tech rang the doorbell. There was no apology at all. He went to work and it was done in about an hour. Now, our front door sticks like crazy and it was VERY smooth prior to him coming. I've called to have them come fix the problem and have received zero communication back. I called many locksmith and none were open past 5pm and the one that was open 24 hours, didn't have anyone to send to my area. I was pretty frustrated at this point and felt hopeless. I finally was able to get a hold of a someone at AMPM Locksmith and he came in less than 15 minutes and he got me into my house in 5 minutes!! I was very anxious, but he talked me through it and reassured me he would get me back in my house. Thank goodness he came to my rescue or the situation could've been worse.
