Calen is so understanding, and nice and helpful to me its been a good fit for me to have her as a lymphedema therapist. She understands my challenges with lymphedema. The lymphedema massage is one appointment I actually look forward to because the massages feel good as I mentioned before. The massages not only help with swelling and movement but help with the flexibility of my ankel and foot. Everyone at Northlake physical therapy had been very nice and helpful to me I've been very pleased with the physical therapy. Its still been a little distance for me to go but closer than the Hillsboro location to me. Thank you Northlake physical therapy for being a great physical therapy location to help people improve the body and help with their daily living.

Do not use Amedisys, there are so many far better options for home care after surgery. Zero stars…read moreif Yelp would allow. The service I needed the most was at home care. As a patient who was coming home to an empty house after hip surgery, I needed help getting in and out of shower the first few days, and help with lite household chores. My surgeon wrote a prescription for this service and let the nurses at Legacy Meridian know. When they released me, they said all had been arranged with Amerisys who would also provide PT and OT. I came home from surgery on July 13 and the first Amerisys rep came over on Tuesday, July 18th. So 5 days on my own with no help. I thought they were there for my first PT session, but it turned out this rep was here to assess my needs and to get me to sign paperwork. It was only at this point did I learn that Amerisys did not provide the service I needed, at home care. I've been home for 6 very difficult and challenging days, and they show up and say they don't provide the service I need! The rep did explain that I had a choice with providers, and he could call the main office to have another company contact me. What? If it took 6 days for the Amerisys evaluator to visit, I could not wait a few more days for a different company to call me and then another week for them to send an evaluator. So I was stuck with Amerisys. If Legacy Meridian pwoukd have explained that Amerisys does NOT provide at home care, at least in Portland, I would have requested a different company Before I left the hospital. Tracey, the Physical Therapist, came on the 21st. She was fantastic. I can't sing enough high praises about her demeanor, knowledge, professionalism and care. She was a shining light in this process. Another week or so went by and I still was not contacted about OT. When I called the office, I was told someone would call in a few days to arrange time. Even though I knew what the OT would do, I asked the case manager about their role. She went on to explain that the OT would evaluate my house and make sure it was safe to navigate with a walker, to get in and out of the shower, on and off the toilet. I've now been home almost 3 weeks! Did she really think I hadn't used the toilet or shower or walked around my house with a waker?!!!! I told her not to bother. This was absolutely appalling. The OT person should have come out the first day. Now that I know my rights, if I ever have another surgery, I will not leave the hospital again until at home care is arranged. Legacy Meridian should have given me options, not just one choice. I will never agree to have any services provided by Amerisys. I have let all of my friends and neighbors know about the lack of timely care and the poor and nascent service. And informed my surgeon as well. Sent a letter similar to this to Amerisys, and also filled out their customer service questionnaire, and true to form, they never contacted me. Worst provider, do not hire.

Of the home health agencies I have dealt with, Amedisys is easily the best. Their nurses and…read moretherapists are always punctual, professional and polite. I would have no qualms at all about hiring them again to care for me or any of my loved ones. It seems like the bad reviews are coming from people with wildly unrealistic expectations.

She knew, that she will get stronger and she will be back on her feet, as soon as she starts her radiation. With that said, I end up talking her into moving to Park Forest, one, because it's close from my home, I can easily walk there & visit her. I told her I will even do volunteer work, so I have an excuse for visiting her there often. She went for it! That's right, she was ready to be among women her own age! On the day she moved in, I was unpacking some of her necessities, when she rang up the nurse. She pressed the button, like 10x, but no nurse came to see her. I also found out, that SHE WILL HAVE to walk to the bathroom, without her walker, and that there is no guard rail on her bed. Meaning, they didn't care if she fell, or tripped, my mom is DYEING of cancer and there is NO WAY IN HELL was she walking alone in the bathroom, without an assistance! To me, that was a torture! I found out, the buzzer had a hole so the reason why the nurse didn't hear her. What if she tried the buzzer and I wasn't there, and she's having an emergency? Right away, I decided, this was NOT a place for her. The lady who was in the same room as mom (roommate) her first warning to us was: "good luck, getting help around here!" I didn't know @ that time, what she meant. But she was giving us a good warning. I feel sorry for relatives, leaving their 'love ones' in a place such as this! I got a confirmation from her doctor, and took mom home with me, that same evening. That was a good move, on my part, because I had the last 3 months with my mother, and took care of her and had a chance to be a 'mother' to her and her the 'daughter'.

I was humbled to see some fabulous patient care for many of the residents at this modest facility, with day in and day out consistency. Despite this Kaiser Gateway location receiving a high number of reviews that are three stars or less, I've enjoyed nothing but positive interactions here. The customer service reps at the front desk are always very kind and efficient, and there never seems to be a wait to sign in for my appointments. The lab and pharmacy seem to be consistently busy in the morning and late afternoon hours, so if you can plan your visit outside peak hours that would be best. The parking lot is spacious and offers a fair number of accessible parking spaces. During inclement weather the parking lot is always well-maintained and salted to help prevent sliding and falls. The facility seems newer than some of the other locations, and I enjoy the pleasant art and landscaping found throughout the property.

Unfortunately, Kaiser providers for myself haven't been good lately. All of the good providers I have seen have moved on. Two providers at Gateway failed to properly diagnose my injuries after a motor vehicle accident. They refused to manage my pain properly and although Kaiser responds to reviews, in my experience, they don't follow through on the follow up. The front desk staff are great, the lab folks are nice, and most pharmacy staff are good too. In my experience, your care at Kaiser depends on your provider. You can file a grievance with Kaiser but they NEVER find themselves of any wrongdoing, even when it's clear they were wrong.

That's exactly where the Hospice & Palliative Care came in to help when needed. They provided my home comfort for my mom, in 2008, when she decided to come live with me. They called in for everything SHE NEEDED, to make her life easier: bed, support, someone to come clean her, do her nails, and I can call them anytime day or night - someone is always on the phone ready for my questions or whatever I needed. I'm not a caregiver, nor have I ever worked in a hospital, nor would I ever want to, . . . but I became one instantly, just because I have that 'mother experience - two kids of my own,' and taking care of a mother was difficult specially if she became a tantrum teenager @ almost 91 years old. Very difficult indeed! It was also a chance for her & me to bond, with a happy ending. But that's not why I'm reviewing, just something to think about, why I NEVER gave up. She was my mom, afterall! Hospice & Palliative Care made it easy for me, because they are always there to guide me, & support me and give me advice, or comfort me when I'm breaking bad, and calm me down take charge once again. My mom was able to eat foods she used to eat @ home, or when she was younger . . . the hospital or any care giving home wouldn't have given her choices. Mom was able to get help when she rang the bell, or if she needed help just to go to the bathroom, or for a walk outside in my backyard, in the comfort of our secluded private backyard and a driveway where she can easily walk her walker. Or do that by herself, while I sit in my hammock, doing my quilting or reading a book, or tending my roses. Sometimes, when I visit people in hospice care, elsewhere, I feel nothing but sadness for them, because their families are nowhere to be found, or seldom visits them. They have no views in their room, but 4 walls. In my home, mom had enough to keep her entertained, and she could see my garden from her bed, or listen to piano playing next room, or someone to pray with her everyday, or read poems to her. She always have my husband & me, or families 24hrs. day or night. The Hospice & Palliative Care, care about safety, medications, equipment we were using, and they'd want us to ask questions and to help us understand the care I'm giving mom. They listen. I believe that is was also important that the doctor they provided also understands my mom's illness and they succeeded and will recommend Providence Home Services to anyone. With their help, I think I gave mom the best care she needed with their help.
