I just finished a tiny shopping spree here earlier this afternoon and I'd love to share my experience here on this platform because I'm extremely impressed with everything I found here today from aromatherapy oils to healing chakra crystals and instruments. Today was my first time exploring this extremely adorable and unique crystal boutique shop! There is a large selection of raw and polished crystals, fabrics, clothes, chimes, bells, Tibetan singing bowls incense, massage and essential oils here. I found myself drawn to a variety of beautiful sacred geometry stones and picked out a complete set for myself in a variety of colors. Each stone of course is for a different chakra so if you appreciate raw and polished crystals you will enjoy wandering around this store and find many beautiful objects whether it's essential oils, clothes or sound healing instruments. I was extremely tempted to keep buying more and more; but I limited my shopping by buying three tiny perfume oils (myrrh, lavender, vanilla) one bottle of Champaka massage oil, a gorgeous clear quartz crystal a sacred geometry set, and a tiny cymbal. The owner is from Nepal and he's extremely friendly and helpful. I will most definitely return here as my budget allows and I highly recommend this gift shop if you're a healer or you just appreciate crystals and alternative healing. I ordered 2 masks & they were delivered the same day! They fit me pretty well aside from the nose, which sticks out at the top quite a lot. Both are cute AND they are reversible. It's nice to be flexible with the look, seeing as how these are likely to be a part of commuting and every day life going forward. First time here and they have a huge selection of singing bowls. One of the staff Sunil, I hope I spelled his name right, showed me how to use one. And because singing bowls are specific to an individual he was so patient in letting me try ringing a few bowls to find the perfect one. After brunch at Luella's Southern Kitchen, we were looking for unique stores to shop. We stumbled upon AMADARA. The store is full of unique items primarily from Southeast Asia. Great place to find unique and fun gifts! They have anything from crystals, jewelry, accessories, clothing, lanterns and more. It's a family business. We started talking to the owner who was kind and talked about how they will travel to various countries to find their merchandise. My daughter found a sterling silver ring with a moonstone that she loves. And because the owner learned my daughter liked handmade items, she gave her a handmade pouch for her new ring. Driving down Western I stopped my friend mid-sentence when I noticed the colorful lanterns in the window--oooh what's that store??? Come to find Amadara is relatively new to the area (they have a sister shop in Navy Pier) and their focus is on imported wares. The items are from India, Indonesia, Thailand and run the gamut from paper lanterns to jewelry to clothing to picture frames to hand made bags...just some cute cute stuff. My visit ended up with me buying a great button down shirt for my son made from the softest breathable cotton and some bracelets for me. On my list for future purchases, more bracelets and some paper lanterns, maybe some necklaces and maybe some scarves--haha, It's all good in here. Colorful and hand made items. I was drawn in the store by the great selection of colorful paper lanterns that dangle in the window. It's a great little neighborhood shop full of hippie-esque items. Seriously, if long crocheted vests aren't hippie I don't know what is. They have tons of imported gift items, trinkets and jewelry. There are purses made of seashells, and eco-friendly handmade writing journals made of tree bark. This is a great place to buy a gift for a friend or two, or treat yourself to something funky. My girlfriend and I were walking through Lincoln Square a few months ago and stumbled into this shop. The store is abundant with hand made arts and crafts, statues/images of the Buddha among other eastern religious figures, candles, essential oils, jewelry as well as other small nic-nacs.
