I went in for a pedicure with gel polish and full set acrylic all she did was soak my feet in water with a basic scrub from bath and body and lotion. I end up getting poly gel tip and was charged 250 bucks!! The tech demeanor changed completely when she seen me on the phone speaking English and heard I was from out of town and I believe this was the reason for over priced not even a cup of water or coffee was given I left traumatized could not believe the price! I had to come write a review for Joseph because the level of quality and care I received was over the top and one of a kind. It's been so long since I had a professional stylist sit down with me and listen to my concerns before just treating my hair with whatever treatment that I thought would be best. He is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and I can tell he can work with any type of hair texture and treat it/style it to its maximum potential. He is such a cool and adaptable person that he makes it a very enjoyable experience for the client with great conversation. I'm glad to have found my new stylist in Puerto Rico! read more

HORRIBLE. I booked a 12:30 appt, wasn't seen until 12:45, and for just a mani pedi, I didn't leave until after 3:15. I was charged for $40 in additional stuff that I wasn't asked about, and they don't list their prices anywhere noticeable. I called after to ask about the price, and was told that a gel mani/pedi was $110 (already pricey), but I was charged $150 before tip. They said I "needed additional services" - I wasn't told this, they just charged me. I should have had the option to say no. Removing my existing nail polish was $17??? Hell no. Also, the nail guy would disappear for 10+ minutes at a time, leaving my feet/hands in cold water with no explanation. Oh and also, he used a literal cheese grater on my feet to exfoliate. Oh - and nitpicking, but they also don't include lotion, massage, or a top coat with their $100+ service. My nails are already chipping 5 hours later. Sin prestarme la más mínima atención adecuadamente. Y mi sorpresa fue peor a la hora de pagar, $85 por un retoque??? Me sentí tan mal que llame a la jefa al día siguiente y le expliqué la situación, la tal Luz me dijo que cada manicurista ponía el precio y que ellos no podían saber cuánto me iban a cobrar. Básicamente se lavó las manos sobre mi disconformidad. El trato recibido, la falta de profesionalidad y educación de la manicurista fue tremendo. WORST BEAUTY SALON EVER! The front desk receptionist (short woman with red hair) is super disorganized and rude. They canceled my appointment twice without prior notice. The reason I give the salon 4 stars is because they were 20 min late for my appointment and I got very nervous since I had a makeup appointment right after this one. I have visited Amado Amado twice for manicures and pedicures. My first experience was not great, but I decided to give them a second chance because their location is convenient for me. Having been there twice now, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that: 1. The quality of services rendered is average at best. 2. The prices are comparable to luxury services in big cities like New York, San Francisco, DC, etc., but you are NOT getting a luxury experience. 3. The staff's manners are subpar and, on occasion, they are just plain rude. Manicure and Pedicure: I asked for a classic manicure and pedicure (not shellac, no spa treatments, Essie nail polish, the basics). My manicures began to chip before I had even paid for them on both occasions. The pedicures are just average. Pedicure began chipping on week two. Classic Manicure = $25 Classic Pedicure = $55 I was also charged two hidden fees ($7 and $5) for "treatments" (special moisturizers, lotions, whatever) that I did not ask for. I've had hundreds of manis and pedis and have never been slapped with a hidden fee. I have always been asked beforehand for add-ons. Staff: This is the part that I am really upset about. The manicurist and pedicurist was coughing the whole time. Granted, he was wearing a mask, but he was sick. I really wanted to get up and walk away terrified of catching COVID or Omicron, but didn't want to be perceived as being impolite or difficult, so I stuck it out. The manicurist sitting in the booth next to ours was also coughing. She did not have a client, and the two just gossiped away throughout my entire manicure (about clients!!), gabbing and coughing away, never talking to me. Also, I was not greeted or welcomed by the hostess when I arrived. She basically just pointed to the chair I was supposed to sit in. I didn't even get a thank you after paying the bill or tipping 20%. We showed up at 1pm (appt time) and we were sent to the back to have a technician wash my hair; the gal was great, friendly, refreshing and professional (I don't know her name). Once my hair was washed, Cuba came by and I showed him the hair style I wanted. Cuba was super professional, asked a couple of questions and sat me down. He did his job quietly; he was thorough and a perfectionist. I love my haircut and I highly recommend Cuba to anyone looking for a stylish haircut and stylist. Can't wait to go back!! I LOVE IT! Went for the first time based on word-of-mouth, it did not disappoint! It has a wonderful atmosphere, very welcoming, very clean. I call and make a appointment for 4pm. I arrive 4:08pm because it was a holiday and the mall was super full. When I arrive they were waiting for me :) I felt good. Then Verenize Sanchez did my nails and she did a amazing job! What a lovely person she is ;) Make sure you ask for her with the full name because there is another coworker with the same name Verenize. Well her job was fantastic, she took great care of me and her work was meticulous and very professional. She is a very easy person to be around. The interior of the salon is fantastic - modern, elegant, gorgeous furniture, lots of white and nice music - completely relaxing environment. Plus - no toxic chemical fumes. I am disappointed about what they did to my hair. The guy did not take the time to show me how my hair looked when it was finished. It did not look at all like the picture I showed him. He had a lot to work with because my hair was up to my butt and he ruined it completely. It's like he didn't care how he was cutting it. I told him to do front layers and not touch the back not cut it short but he ended up cutting the back short too and the front really up to my shoulders not layered but more like a toddler cut it really bad.I am upset that the front is completely bad because it will take six months to a year for this to grow back. They took away my confidence. I didn't notice what a bad job he did until I went home and I was combing my hair and realized the front was very short and not even layered. Walked in without an appointment and there was availability for a haircut in 2 hours, so I decided to walk the mall meanwhile. When I returned I had asked the receptionist to put me with someone good, instead I ended up with a young guy "hairstylist" Everything he told me he was going to do, he DID NOT. Then when I mention some flaws in my hair, he said he couldn't fix it because he was already done. I said that I did not asked for that haircut he said he was going to fixed it but he had to wash my hair, after he was done washing my hair he straight up starting drying it without cutting anything. When I mention that he said he was going to fix my haircut and he didn't he seems frustrated and started cutting my hair while I had product in it Overall, bad costumer service and HORRIBLE INEXPERIENCED "HAIRSTYLISTS". If I am paying double the price for a haircut at least be nice and accommodating to your new costumers. WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE BACK! My friends and I are traveling students who are not swimming in money, and we were looking for a decent affordable place to get our hair done. When we called ahead they quoted us for cut and dye, so we made our appointment based on that. All through the process, no one was mentioning or quoting additional prices. Once we were finished, we went to pay and found that we were charged excessively for things we were unaware were charged separately. We ended up with a $300 bill for something we were under the impression would cost around $150. The mis-communication was no doubt frustrating, however the salon was not willing to make things right or offer us a refund of any kind. Amado Amado is the place to be. Ask for Omar - he gives awesome haircuts in record time, and is a really cool guy as well. It's located inside a three story shopping mall. I finally got to sit in the pedicure chair. The pedicure was ok but honestly I've had better on the states. After my pedicure I got a fill in on my acrylic nails. I was satisfied with the work done until I went to pay. My bill was $122. I have bee getting my nails done for 10 years and never in my life have I paid that much. The services I got were: a pedicure with shellac nail polish, fill-in with French using shellac nail polish. I asked the cashier if they had a menu of their services so I could verify the prices and of course they didn't. I would never go back here. The prices are ridiculously high. read more

Last Thursday, July 19, 2018 I had an appointment for pedi and mani spa, for my daughter and for me. The male that was assigned to take care of me, started fighting with me because the color I selected. After arguing with him I had to tell him to stop fighting. After that the services I received was very disappointing. When we were done, my daughter told me, Mom, don't leave tip to the girl who did my pedi and mani. We had to spead the scrub by our self in our hands, we received a brush and sent to the sink. When I return the guy told me that I did not remove the scrub correctly, I answered him that I did not study to do nails and this is the first place where I have to do part of the job. This is the second and last time I will be there. The first one I received a terrible service, but since it was like two years ago, I decided to return, because I received a summer deal, but I paid $55.00 per each of us, and we finished totally disapointed. This is supposed to be the hip salon in San Patricio Mall in Guaynabo. They are not about style, they are about volume. Ive gotten better mens haircuts in Supercuts for half the price. They have only the "cafre" look and the "regueton" look. They do not know how to cut straight hair with scissors. Such a basic elegant mens cut was imposible. Not recommended!!! Never having been at this salon before, I was assigned to Zuleyka for the hair, and to Casandra for the nails. I was so pleased with the service I received from both, that, two weeks later, I booked an appointment for a Brazilian Blowout with Zuleyka, and a manicure with Casandra.
