I also found a few more items that I loved. I actually was multitasking and needed to use my phone to make arrangements with the President of one of the 4 nonprofit Boards I serve on the EastEnd of Long Island. The time was around 1:30 PM and there were about 8 customers in the store along with 3 dogs with their owners. My basket was full with around $200.00-$240.00 worth of merchandise and there were only two customers and two cashiers at checkout. As I waited my turn and finishing up my conversation, one of the cashiers says, "Take it outside. No one wants to hear your conversation." Meanwhile I'm next in line and about to check out. I wasn't saying anything offensive, nor using profanity while speaking on the phone nor addressing this extremely rude cashier. If I had, I might expect a reaction like that, but not from an employee of the store. I then proceeded to ask her if talking on cell phones were against store policy. She said no, but ALL the customers were complaining and it is rude. There were maybe two or three others around so I asked who is complaining and that I'd like to speak with them. Then the customer at the counter who made the complaint was almost apologetic by saying, "Everyone does that, including myself. It's just annoying" The cashier further commented, You should hear the conversations people have it here! Ugh. The complainer happily l left, but it wasn't over for me. I asked the cashier for the store manager and she went she finally arrived was very nice and apologetic. She said she'd speak to the cashier because there is no policy against the use of cell phones, but there is a policy against employees speaking on behalf of customer's complaints to another customer. Even though I loved each and every item I carefully selected, I decided to leave everything in the wagon. The manager tried twice to check me out personally. I said, "No thanks. If I brought any of these beautiful items into my home, they'd remind me of the disrespect and humiliation I felt from that horrible woman working as a cashier." I will never shop at that Home Goods again at the Wainscott Store, Montauk Highway.

Also some good kitchen items and a nice selection of coffee, tea and condiments. Even imported pasta from Italy can be found in small quantities. This place is deluged with shoppers in summer and pleasantly empty or close to it off season. They often carry a few higher end items for big ticket shoppers here. I've seen some dramatic items. A huge wrought iron covered pumkin shaped gazebo of sorts nearly 9 feet tall meant for a garden. A metallic horse up on hind legs maybe 10 feet tall one summer. Good for an equestrian theme foyer. Someone buys them. I've also seen better quality imported wool blankets here. A well developed pet department. Pet beds. Pet shampoos. Pet toys. Pet sweaters. Pet scratch posts. Pet swinging beds. Lastly, in winter a vast amount of discounted items not moving because of the reduced winter traffic out here. So a few bargains can be had. Staff are wearing masks and taking temperatures each day. No gloves but I wear mine. The manager was seen coaching a staff of 6 or 7 people on their work. Very friendly and motivating. Glad to see them treating the young people there properly. A bookmark worth saving when needing household supplies when out here.

The store is unbelievably well stocked and displayed but most importantly it is extremely well run. The attention to detail and the superior customer service and focus makes you WANT to support such an AMAZING brick and mortar store. Sure we could always shop on line but the personal assistance and wealth of knowledge about all J. Crew merchandise gives us confidence our purchases are PERFECT! Special thanks to Amanda who manages an incredible kids department. She is amazingly customer focused friendly personable and professional and very kind. She always is and has been SO helpful in directing us to the exact right clothing and accessories for our grandkids! Her expertise brings constant joy for us as we see our grandson and granddaughter enjoying their clothes. Finally we'd be remiss if we didn't mention Kerry, East Hamptons store location store manager and her entire staff. You can tell when a store is extremely well managed and associates are customer service driven. My line dude was Cameron and he was great and very communicative throughout the process. The whole team was courteous, professional, and just on top of everything especially during a chaotic few days! I'm really grateful for finding them to wait in line and then ship my item, a special signed vinyl. This by far beats buying from resellers who will hike up the price for pure greed. By finding Line Guys, I paid face value for the item and helped support a local and black owned business vs scalpers/resellers so that is excellent. There was just a bit of sticker shock when it came to shipping the item but that was not Robert's fault, I should've asked more questions to clarify the process of shipping but now I know for next time. Even though shipping was higher than expected, money still didn't go to scalpers but to a local postal retailer. The item was packaged well and arrived in perfect condition. I won't hesitate to reach out to Same Ole Line Dudes again if I ever need something from NYC! Thanks Robert and team!!

My shoes came in defective. I needed to exchange them for an event. NO customer service. NO answer…read more NO reply to emails. Had to return. Was charged shipping & Handling for defective shoes. I needed to shoes so I chose a new color. Was emailed that that color was no longer available. Had to pick a new color. Finally got someone to answer. When trying to explain my situation I was told by the customer service rep that she was really busy and didn't have time to listen..??? Really... Never Ever Again will I shop here.

Going in and finding exactly what I wanted made the shopping spree more than wonderful. The store was clean and the product in the section I was in, needed a lot of attention, however I did manage to find something at an awesome price. After picking out my treasured piece, I looked around the store for a few minutes more and then I headed over to the cashier where the service I received got better and better and better. SERVICE* So in reality, the service was GOOD because I found the container store. That's having a store available in the town I was visiting. The service got BETTER because they had what I needed, at a reasonable price and it's availability. The service was at its BEST when I checked out and paid less at check out and, not only that, I'm excited now.... The cashier left me dumbfounded when she put a Bed, Bath, & Beyond (BB&B) coupon in my bag. I was literally like, what's this. What's happening, what's going on. And then she told me that The Container Store will be stocking BB&B products in the store really soon. TOUCHDOWN!! IYKYK if you didn't, NYK! I just made that last part up to keep the acronyms flowing. It's Now You Know. But in all seriousness, I can't wait to get back to shopping here. I ordered something online to pick up here to save on the shipping fee. It's located in a big-ish strip mall near other prominent brands like Trader Joe's and Paris baguette. There were a lot of parking spaces but the lot was def a bit packed around noon on a Saturday. The container store itself was very big and organized. All of the heavily discounted goods were to the front of the store, and they sure caught my eye. I was assisted with promptly. The whole transaction for pickup took about 10 minutes, most of which I think the worker spent some time looking for it in the back. I'd come back here again if I'm in the area.
