Service was friendly and attentive and the food was pretty good, but it was not amazing. We ordered coffee and orange juice ($4.00 for maybe 6 ounces of obviously not-fresh-squeezed OJ) to start, followed by the special Homemade Corned Beef Hash (2 eggs, toast, home fried potatoes) and the Stack of Pancakes. On May 16 & 17, 2025 I booked a room for 2 nights. When I arrived I asked the amount charged to my cc and was told $300 for both nights. Did I need to sign anything? Answer: NO. Imagine my surprise when I received my bill: $719.78 charged...more than double what I was told. And it wasn't even summer yet! I disputed this charge with Chase, was given a refund, then recharged the $419.78 on my Sept. bill. OUTRAGEOUS. This is fraud. I have no recourse, but to take HM to small claims court. I don't know where to start. I booked this place as a night away for myself to relax. I didn't have any expectations. As soon as I walked into the reception and was greeted with a huge smile I knew I was onto something good. It's not glam but EVERYTHING you would need in a hamptons night away. It's not pretentious but still has a "hamptons vibe". It took 10 mins to drive into Southampton. The rooms are so clean and comfortable. Very well decorated. They have a K Cup machine. There is a huge grassy area with a corn hall area and a playground for children. The pool area is clean and enough beds for all with a bonus of towels. The restaurant and bar are bright and airy and the margarita is as made to perfection. The chef came out while I was there and was so smiley and friendly. I seriously can't think of a better place to stay in the Hamptons, than the Hampton Maid Motel. Make you reservations now. The staff from front desk to chef were all straight to greet me. From the cute exterior that makes me think of the woodland residence of Goldielocks and the Three Bears. Now, if only they served porridge ... ... Actually, the food they do serve is quite fantastic. Our party of four only ordered the Kielbasa with Two Eggs from the regular menu. That's because the specials looked so interesting. We requested Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Green Eggs N' Lamb, and Homemade Corn Beef Hash. Oh yeah, we had some Fresh Baked Scones and side of Kielbasa for the table too. We shared a little bit of everything and can honestly say that I loved 80% of what my mouth tasted. Lamb was super tender and flavor, especially with the pistachio pesto sauce. Pancakes were fluffy, and that zest of lemon freshness makes it amazing. The kielbasa was delicious and not too oily. Scones were a bit different in texture than what I am use to, but still tasty. My only real complaint would be that the corn beef hash had too much potato and not beefy enough. As for service, everyone was very friendly and had a smile. However, often at times, it felt like we couldn't get anyone's attention. Still good overall. Also, before we left, we walked through their cute gift shop that had some really neat stuff. Today we finally had the idea to go to the Hampton Maid for breakfast. I have been wanting to get here for some time and finally had the right at the right time. The Hampton Maid inn sits up a small hill on the north side of Montauk highway just rest of the canal in Hampton Bays. You immediately get this feeling that you are at a lodge somewhere on Lake George, if you ever went to LG, you know what I am talking about. Now this place had some reputation, so plan ahead. They take no reservations (unless lager party of 10+). We arrived at 10:45 and had an hour wait.....but that's ok, this place is awesome and worth the wait. They are open only until 1 pm. For breakfast, we had an assortment of juice as Sarah, our waitress just brought to us after taking our order. The place was packed and we knew that there would be a little delay in getting our food, but it is so worth it. Each dish was too hot to touch, as they were placed on the table. We ordered egg white omelettes, I had the cheddar and bacon omelette (toast included) and a short stack and French toast as well. All the food was delicious and enjoyed completely!!! This was an awesome first time and I will be back again, probably during the week our especially the off season. The close on November and open again in April. As local residents we've eaten here with family and friends prior to Covid. While the staff here was never particularly friendly, I never had such an off-putting experience as today. My husband, daughter and I came here hoping to be seated for breakfast but instead were treated with utter disrespect. Upon our arrival, we walked to the front desk only to be completely ignored and neglected by three female hostesses, none of whom seemed to know what they were doing. All three of them were unprofessional, rude, and chaotic. I realize that weekends are busy for many Hamptons restaurants but that is all the more reason to have competent staff on hand that knows how to treat customers. I guess this place just doesn't really care. After my husband tried three times to get one of the hostesses' attention, one of them finally looked at us after 10 minutes and rudely asked whether we had a reservation to which we replied we did not. She then looked down at her desk and after several minutes looked at us and stated: "I don't think we can seat you. Actually, I KNOW we can't seat you." She proceeded to lecture us about busy Sunday mornings in the Hamptons and the importance of making a reservation. She was so condescending and pretentious. Why make us stand there all that time if she had no intention of seating us? She made no attempt to accommodate us whatsoever and flatly told us no. She didn't even offer to have us wait. The experience was downright awful. After being quite literally kicked out, we peered into the dining room and noticed there were many unoccupied tables and the bar seating was open as well. We ended up at another restaurant where they sat us immediately (we didn't have a reservation there either) and they were warm and welcoming. Love love love the Hampton Maid for breakfast! This cozy, no-frills, little restaurant is our favorite way to spend lazy mornings in the Hamptons. They have the traditional breakfast fixins from omelets to pancakes and French Toast, and they don't skimp on the portions! They have both indoor and patio seating, plenty of parking and while the service isn't as warm and fuzzy as you'd expect, they get the job done and are pretty quick. Pancakes are light and fluffy, omelets are topped with lots of melty gooey cheese and cooked beautifully, potatoes nicely seasoned, but only one complaint... they don't have real hot sauce.... And by real, I mean those trusted, bottled Mexican go-to's like Cholula or Tapatio. Shame. The weird, spicy mango concoction in those curios bottles is a sad, white person's attempt and not even close. Oh well, they've got the other important things down. Love the Maid. I had booked 5 rooms for myself and my family to celebrate my 40th birthday at the end of July. Unfortunately, the state of NY imposed COVID 19 quarantine restrictions on visitors coming in from California. I contacted the hotel to cancel my reservations due to the COVID 19 restrictions and they insisted on charging me a $250 cancellation fee, even though they have 3 1/2 weeks to rent out the rooms. They are sold out for that weekend. Shame on them for not being accomodating during a global pandemic. read more

Been coming here for decades. Each and every time regardless of the societal times they are friendly, professional. kind, welcoming and a higher end style accommodations. This is not your average "motel 6, clarion etc." This is why I chose it annually because they have always been clean, followed regulations, allowed me to safely be outside at night, have appropriate distancing in place and most importantly ample parking that is well lit. If you want to feel like you are in the country surrounded by the beauty of nature while accessing the local "Hamptons" you can do that without exposure to all the noise, people that are loud and over crowding that oftentimes occurs in other hospitality suite sites out here. They have changed due to the current restrictions in place. I felt safe, able to socially distance and still feel a little normal on a weekend. This family owned place has been a favorite for generations in my family and I respect the grounds, the rooms, the amenities (when they are allowed) and most importantly you can rest, relax, avoid tv, and live a little while reading on a beautiful porch with birds chirping, the sun rising or setting around you. I suggest this locale for those who can appreciate free time, space from others, dont need to be "connected" and will walk the property and enjoy what Long Island has to offer. Gave the lady at the front desk my cell number and was told "We'll call you when the table is ready." Waited 25 minutes outside then decided to go check inside. "We're clearing tables" I was told.
