The new RTS Go system does not function as well as the old RTS bus system. The wait times are…read moresometimes ridiculous, and customer service via phone is nonexistent. I am partially disabled and moved years ago to where I knew I could take the bus back and forth to work, within 1/2 an hour each way. With the new system they eliminated several routes and it can take up to an hour for a van, and I am late to work as frequently as I am on time to work. The van also takes me to a particularly nasty part of Dewey Avenue where I am approached by people every day asking for cigarettes and money; when I move it is obvious I have trouble walking and have no physical defense. The RTS Go app is sometimes buggy and I can't get it to flash the square icon used to digitally pay the reader. Being disabled I have tremendous difficulty opening and closing the transit van, as well as climbing on board, the steps are not (back to front) deep enough for my size 5.5 foot, and one step is significantly taller than the others. I have difficulty pulling myself up using the hand rails, and then reaching to pull the door. It would be nice if the transit vans had automatic doors like the regular buses. Also sometimes the seats don't have the moveable arm rails that I have to hold onto when the driver makes a hard turn. The drivers sometimes park on the wrong side of the road when I leave a note stating specifically what side I am to be picked up. There is one road I have a hard time crossing because of the unevenness, potholes, shoddy repairs and the TRAFFIC. I always feel like I am about to be hit as I have trouble walking and easily lose balance. The main buses need to scroll their messages quicker across the front as sometimes I can't tell which bus number it is that's coming to the stop downtown (downtown-the MASK advisory stays on too long). I have called SIX times (once a week for six weeks) asking for them to schedule an appointment for me to drop off my RTS Access application, and have never had a response even though the message says it will get back to you within 24-48 hours. I contacted them via message directly on their website, explaining this, and got an email reply telling me to call them (at thes ame number previously used) to schedule an appointment. I responded directly to the emailer with the information about no response to my calls, and never heard back. Via research I found that the head of RGRTA is one of the highest publicly paid employees in NYS. Did they divert money from the old bus routes to his pay increases? The old system, while not perfect, was much more user friendly, reliable and time efficient than this new system. You gave it a try but it's time to admit it is not a success and reinstate the old bus routes. I am in Rochester, NY (I am not in Soma, CA as noted above, the site added that when I entered just my initials and won't let me change it

We are so fortunate to have service of this caliber in a small city like Ithaca/Tompkins. You can…read moreessentially get anywhere in Tompkins County by bus. Service is very impressively on-time. (Complainers: You can use real time tracking to find out where your bus is, btw.) Drivers are kind, safety-trained, and professional, including being kind in the face of verbal abuse. Rides are stunningly inexpensive, in spite of rising gas prices. (That's why I ride.) Fare hasn't changed in at least 15 years. Many options for paying, including cash, credit card and phone. My favorite aspect, though, is the TCAT organization is exceedingly social justice-minded. If someone doesn't have their fare, drivers let them go. TCAT is very concerned with allowing underserved and marginalized (carless) residents to have the dignity of transportation which allows them to live a decent life. They base routes on ridership data and community needs. I ride the bus daily to way outside the city, so I see the community of friendship on these buses. *TCAT deserves huge props for service that's difficult, thankless, and costly to provide.*

Ya know, for a bus line I would say four stars is pretty impressive. In my experience busses are…read morekinda always a sh*tshow and this was comparatively pretty great. The things I loved: -they support e-tickets!! This may seem like a no brainer, but as Ithaca busses go, believe me it's not. I thought this made the process wayyy easier. - the outlets on board actually work!! Again, not as much of a given as you'd think. -your spot is reserved. They make you buy a ticket based on bus time, so no matter where you are on line, you'll get on the bus. The sh*tshowy part: -the "bus station" which I think is the pharmacy?? Is closed... so online is pretty much your only option to purchase tickets. -they stop at Binghamton on the way to New York. Every other bus service also does this, but the others at least let you know in advance. Would love to see a truly direct bus route. -there are ~technically~ two buses per day to New York, but the later is a 10 hour ride due to some confusing layovers... so there's really only one bus a day. Not sure if this is a Covid development but the inconvenience cannot be overstated. Last thing for the high-stress people like me: there is only one place that the Greyhound departs from in Ithaca, on Green Street in front of Urban Outfitters. It's a little unclear on the website, but here's your confirmation that you're in the right spot take a deep breathe.

The kind that hasn't been cleaned in forever, has broken tools and equipment that should have been fixed or thrown out long ago, and doesn't have the faintest inkling of what a power grid is. Can we talk about how unpleasant it can get in a building that has no air conditioning in the afternoon Ithaca sun on a day that gets well into the 90s? Or how sketchy the bathrooms are, where one of the toilet stalls is taped up with a note indicating that it's out of order and there's no toilet paper in it? Or how one sink has -no- running water, and the other sink is marginally better... but good luck finding hand soap or paper towels. The sole attendant was "helpful" in the most basic way: he greeted us, then pointed to the door through which we'd be boarding our bus after we explained we were waiting on our return trip back to NYC. Helpful, indeed... considering all of the -two- doors one could choose from. I tried coming up with any transit hub (is that even a relevant term for what this place is?) that's shoddier. Nope. Not coming up with a thing. Fail.

He made the booking process incredibly easy and was fully transparent about pricing and policy (was not surprised with any hidden charges even at the end of the trip). He picked us up right on time at our hotel and offered us bottled waters and some restaurant recommendations around Niagara Falls, which was so considerate! We are out of town so we did not really know the area very well so his recommendations made it SO much easier for us to enjoy our trip without any added hassle. He also graciously made any stops we requested despite it not being on our official itinerary. We were so highly impressed with Enzo's professionalism and character that we asked if he was available the next day but unfortunately he was fully booked (AND FOR GOOD REASON!). My family and I all agreed that this day spent with Enzo in Niagara Falls was the highlight of our trip. Definitely the best limousine and transportation service I have ever used and would highly recommend to anyone! I live in NYC but will definitely be making a trip back out here for a wine trip per Enzo's recommendation and will ONLY be booking Imperial Limousine & Transportation!
