I had an…read moreurgent medical emergency that my doctor's office wanted to see me that same day so they made me an appointment by squeezing me in to their schedule. Unfortunately, when I called Medicaid to get a ride, Young Transportation was the ONLY option for getting a ride on that day. Now I know why, it is because I believe nobody else wants to use them and they are the absolute worst choice! After I called Young to confirm my ride, their dispatcher named Sally said yes that I was definitely on their schedule and what time they would be picking me up. But later on, after waiting for 30 minutes, they never even showed. So after 30 minutes past my pick up time, I called and was told they had to cancel. No courtesy call, no explanation and no apologies! Sally said it was Medicaid's job to call me to let me know they had cancelled. But when I called Medicaid to report the incident with Young, they informed me that they don't make those types of calls to inform riders of a cancellation and that Young Transportation never cancelled my ride either and it was still listed on my account. So Sally lied about everything and I had to miss my important appointment! Please take this as a warning and do NOT ever try using them or give them the chance to have the business / $$. Very irresponsible, uncaring and sketchy company! At least I don't think they will be open much longer with these kinds of practices anyways!

Service is very impressively on-time. (Complainers: You can use real time tracking to find out where your bus is, btw.) Drivers are kind, safety-trained, and professional, including being kind in the face of verbal abuse. Rides are stunningly inexpensive, in spite of rising gas prices. (That's why I ride.) Fare hasn't changed in at least 15 years. Many options for paying, including cash, credit card and phone. My favorite aspect, though, is the TCAT organization is exceedingly social justice-minded. If someone doesn't have their fare, drivers let them go. TCAT is very concerned with allowing underserved and marginalized (carless) residents to have the dignity of transportation which allows them to live a decent life. They base routes on ridership data and community needs. I ride the bus daily to way outside the city, so I see the community of friendship on these buses. *TCAT deserves huge props for service that's difficult, thankless, and costly to provide.*

Ya know, for a bus line I would say four stars is pretty impressive. In my experience busses are…read morekinda always a sh*tshow and this was comparatively pretty great. The things I loved: -they support e-tickets!! This may seem like a no brainer, but as Ithaca busses go, believe me it's not. I thought this made the process wayyy easier. - the outlets on board actually work!! Again, not as much of a given as you'd think. -your spot is reserved. They make you buy a ticket based on bus time, so no matter where you are on line, you'll get on the bus. The sh*tshowy part: -the "bus station" which I think is the pharmacy?? Is closed... so online is pretty much your only option to purchase tickets. -they stop at Binghamton on the way to New York. Every other bus service also does this, but the others at least let you know in advance. Would love to see a truly direct bus route. -there are ~technically~ two buses per day to New York, but the later is a 10 hour ride due to some confusing layovers... so there's really only one bus a day. Not sure if this is a Covid development but the inconvenience cannot be overstated. Last thing for the high-stress people like me: there is only one place that the Greyhound departs from in Ithaca, on Green Street in front of Urban Outfitters. It's a little unclear on the website, but here's your confirmation that you're in the right spot take a deep breathe.

The kind that hasn't been cleaned in forever, has broken tools and equipment that should have been fixed or thrown out long ago, and doesn't have the faintest inkling of what a power grid is. Can we talk about how unpleasant it can get in a building that has no air conditioning in the afternoon Ithaca sun on a day that gets well into the 90s? Or how sketchy the bathrooms are, where one of the toilet stalls is taped up with a note indicating that it's out of order and there's no toilet paper in it? Or how one sink has -no- running water, and the other sink is marginally better... but good luck finding hand soap or paper towels. The sole attendant was "helpful" in the most basic way: he greeted us, then pointed to the door through which we'd be boarding our bus after we explained we were waiting on our return trip back to NYC. Helpful, indeed... considering all of the -two- doors one could choose from. I tried coming up with any transit hub (is that even a relevant term for what this place is?) that's shoddier. Nope. Not coming up with a thing. Fail.

He made the booking process incredibly easy and was fully transparent about pricing and policy (was not surprised with any hidden charges even at the end of the trip). He picked us up right on time at our hotel and offered us bottled waters and some restaurant recommendations around Niagara Falls, which was so considerate! We are out of town so we did not really know the area very well so his recommendations made it SO much easier for us to enjoy our trip without any added hassle. He also graciously made any stops we requested despite it not being on our official itinerary. We were so highly impressed with Enzo's professionalism and character that we asked if he was available the next day but unfortunately he was fully booked (AND FOR GOOD REASON!). My family and I all agreed that this day spent with Enzo in Niagara Falls was the highlight of our trip. Definitely the best limousine and transportation service I have ever used and would highly recommend to anyone! I live in NYC but will definitely be making a trip back out here for a wine trip per Enzo's recommendation and will ONLY be booking Imperial Limousine & Transportation!
