It was generously sized and I shared it with my kids. It was yummy. They do GF/vegan cinnamon rolls on Sunday and seasonal peach cobbler. Maggie herself was wonderful. She and I had an off the cuff conversation that my soul really needed. She had a lovely personality. I'm upset to read the other reviewer's discomfort with the tasteful rainbows displayed. For one, there's not that many. Chill. Secondly, rainbows are not a political statement -- they are a statement of values and that a business or a person is safe. Unfortunately safety for identity isn't guaranteed now and our politicians have turned this into a political statement, but people on both sides of the aisle are onboard with LGBTQ rights. People making comments about rainbows offending them are part of the reason why it's so important people have safe spaces. People's identities and rainbows share in common that they really don't affect you. Maggie apparently has a GF bread under works, which I look forward to hearing she has perfected. Yeah we unwind the day literally with crocheting projects. This place was literally a candy store for people needing yarn and material for sewing. I bought a pretty sparkling blue and a spring time color. I am uncertain what I may make but I am excited. Probably a pretty throw! Customer service has changed. There are three self checkouts. Two of them take cards but only one take cash. Then there is two regular cashier stands. My friend and I realize that we need to come here for crocheting/knitting and sewing projects. Plus side is there is a sewing machine shop nearby too. In the meantime I will enjoy my goodies.

One that I bought says, "Not today motherfucker." Now who wouldn't want that hanging at their office? The Nearsighted Narwhal is a great store to browse and shop local. My latest acquisition: "Suzanne II", a limited edition print by U.K. artist Mark Demsteader with a…read morestory. I bought the print for $13.99 from Goodwill.com. Then I had to figure out how to get it from Tulsa to Seattle. Luckily, a friendly UPS employee offered to pick it up in person at a specific appointment time and ship it. While removing the artwork from the package, I accidentally got tape stuck to the back and ripped off a layer of paper. The print already had creasing in the corner when I bought it. On top of that, I unrolled it on my bed, where my cat's fur stuck to it like a magnet. Plus I crumpled it a bit while putting it back in the box. Still, I hoped my thrift store find just needed some TLC. Carri Tobler at Artco Framing and Gallery in Tacoma did a beautiful job of covering the damage. She recommended the perfect mat and frame for my first custom framing purchase. I drove all the way to their shop from Seattle because of a recommendation and am confident I made the right decision. It feels good to support a woman-owned small business that also promotes the work of local artists. Suzanne II is now the statement piece of my living room, where she reminds me of a quiet moment after the curtain comes down on a play. Alone, holding a bouquet of partially crushed flowers, we're both left to ponder what comes next. For me, that will be another visit to Artco Framing and Gallery when I need custom framing.

One you enter, you go through a small room into another and then up a couple of concrete stairs, then you're there.
