Instead of simply helping me, Jaqueline immediately tried to pressure me into buying a larger, more expensive ring, telling me my girlfriend would "love me more." It came off as manipulative and completely unprofessional. When it was finally time to pay, I tapped my card, the transaction went through, and I even received the notification on my phone. Suddenly, Jaqueline claimed the system crashed and said I wasn't charged. She insisted I tap my card again. That second tap went through as another charge -- over $4,000 total -- and she still tried to convince me I hadn't paid for anything. She made a huge scene and acted like I was crazy, even though my bank showed both charges immediately. To make things worse, I walked out of the store with NO ring and over $4,000 taken from my account. I had to repeatedly return to the store demanding either the merchandise I paid for or my money back. They refused to give me either at first, and it took over a week before they finally issued a refund. This was the single worst customer service experience I have ever had. She can tell 14K gold from 18K gold from 5 feet away. If she has ever seen a piece of jewelry she will remember it. Her daughter used to work at this store but now works up the road at the Gemological Institute. If you have jewelry that matters to you and you need something done to it, or need it inspected, take it to Bergmann's. If you want to buy something unusual from her relatively small inventory, look there. If you are looking for the best price on something fashionable, go elsewhere. Nadja loves to talk, and she always has something to say. Don't go in expecting to get out in 10 minutes. Go in expecting to spend an hour, most of which is conversation.
