The chile relleno was outstanding and my wife's chimichanga was smoking hot and she really liked it.

Zucchs, on 342 in Red Oak, across from the High School, is a sister restaurant to the popular…read morebreakfast and lunch restaurant "Gravy and More" (in the shopping area located behind it), so I was NOT surprised when they dropped off two small slices of very buttery zucchini bread for us to start the meal. What DID surprise me was the interior of Zucchs. We were told to seat ourselves in a restaurant that had very interesting twinkle lighting against a mostly dark interior. We decided to sit against a far wall in a booth and were greeted by a very charming waitress who told us all about the menu and Zucchs. Zucchs is listed as a $10 - $20 range dining experience. I believe this menu now reflects our changed economy with entrees nearly all greater than $20 and burgers and sandwiches greater than than $15. Salads with a protein $15 - $24. Desserts $13. Sides were very reasonable. My husband and I both ordered burgers. I ordered the All American Cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato and hold the mayo for me, add extra pickles! ($12.50) He ordered the Western Bacon Cheeseburger with Bacon, iceberg, tomato, onion rings and a side of BBQ sauce ($16.50) I didn't have to have fries as my side. I could choose from a list of 12 sides! Now you're talking. I chose the onion rings, my favorite with a burger. Our burgers arrived looking great, hot and yet I don't understand why they can't melt the cheese. Sigh. The Burger, otherwise, was terrific. Nicely toasted, thoroughly dressed, gave me everything I wanted plus delicious onion rings instead of French fries. My husband's BBQ sauce was spicy sweet and yummy. Great with the onion rings. I had heard, even read, that Zucchs was Red Oak's new upscale restaurant. But what I was hearing in a nearly empty restaurant was intrusive overly loud Country music and it remained that way for most of the time we were there. Yes. I should have spoken up. Now Zucchs is also billed as comfort food, American food for diverse tastes. I see nothing about the exterior or any marketing that says country. This tells me when it's nearly empty, the chef preference is country. Loud Country. Five stars for the Charming, thorough and sweet service though. She made sure we had everything, I mean everything we needed. All in all, we enjoyed our meal and would return. There's adequate parking and plenty of distanced tables and booths. Even a private dining room. There's a drive thru now, too!

The catfish had to been from a frozen bag and the steamed broccoli was either steamed for hours or boiled until the whole thing was mush. The burger was average.

Bar area is dark & had TVs blaring loud with FIFA on. We would have watched FIFA but also wanted to be able to hear each-other so we went in the separate restaurant area which was light & comfortable. We were immediately brought chips, salsa, & a mild cheese sauce. The chips were thick & not too salty. The cheese sauce was good and unexpected. The salsa had a strange twang to it - couldn't eat it. (Wasn't sure if it was supposed to be that way or spoiled). My Mom got and enjoyed a small tortilla soup. Lunch specials during the week for $9.99 I got the #31 Guadalajara plate- chicken quesadilla, ground beef tostada, & rice & beans. Rice and beans were cold. Guacamole tasted packaged. Good amount of meat in the quesadilla. Waitress was pleasant. Pay at counter when you're done. Our waitress didn't tell us to do this or give us a tab to take to counter. We just finally assumed this is what we were supposed to do after she cleared our plates and never came back. Waited 24hr before writing review incase I got sick. So far so good.

The food, cocktails, atmosphere, and service came together to create an unforgettable evening. A special shout-out to Ashley, whose hospitality and mastery behind the bar elevated our celebration even more. Her knowledge of her craft, warm personality, and thoughtful recommendations made us feel truly welcomed and valued. It's rare for me to give an establishment a perfect score, but this one has earned it without hesitation. 10/10--an exceptional dining experience and the perfect place to celebrate life's special moments. It was my first visit, and it was absolutely worth the wait. I've seen all the Instagram posts, and I finally got my chance to experience it for myself. Since it was Taco Tuesday, I had to order the tacos and the ceviche. I snagged a cozy corner seat so I could take in the entire atmosphere, and everything was spot on. The food was delicious, the ambiance was beautiful, and the bartender was even kind enough to take my picture. From the service to the vibe, this place exceeded my expectations. It will definitely be one of the first places I think of for a date night!

The caldo de res was better than home, and very well served portions. At least 10-12 oz of meat maybe more and a great array of veggies and excellent rice and condiments on the side. They don't skimp on the lime for the soups either. We ordered an extra order of flour tortillas. The food came with two for each but they were so good we got one more order. Also for alternative sweeteners they have yellow blue and my favorite pink which I have found they have available less and less. I will come back again. The menudo was excellent. Only complaint is they could have better soup spoons. Bring your own if you are partial to deeper soup spoons, which is petty in the big picture of it all. My dad is picky as I will get out. I am sleeping good tonight with a warm full tummy! The music is classic Mexican and most of my mom's favorites were playing. She was born in the 40's and loved all the classics. We decided to try the flan for dessert .It was about average but we didn't leave any on the plate , and they brought us two spoons on request. We are coming back for breakfast tomorrow .

The birria tacos had a good flavor but were extremely oily, making them get soggy quick. My husband had the guisada which he said was tender and the flavor was good. The service was good. They bring out two salsas and beans with the chips which was nice but a bit underwhelming as far as flavor. The restroom was separate from the sink and the sink had no soap which left me hoping they wash their hands in the back. For the price, I'm not sure if I will go back.
