My first experience was a fifteen minute complimentary chair massage.This is one of the massage options Dr. Sasaki offers to dental clients to help soothe and calm the experience of the dental visit. From that encounter I realized that she is a top notch therapist. I then booked a one hour table massage. Melinda worked on my upper back and shoulder area. This area holds much pain, tension and stress for me. She knew the exact amount of pressure to apply and hit every knot and kink. By the end of that one hour I felt calm, serene, pain and stress free. In my opinion, massage therapy is a medical necessity, not just a treat. And Melinda is my choice of therapist.

The whole process took 3 hours and was largely painless. I'd swear that Dr Van Alstine figured out how to administer dental anesthetic without a needle. If there was one involved, I didn't feel it. She used a 3D scanner to image my tooth, and while it was being fabricated in the office, I sipped coffee and relaxed in her comfortable chair. My new porcelain crown fit perfectly and I'm actually looking forward to going back for my next procedure. The scheduling process has been great as well as an abundance of reminders about upcoming appointments via text and email. This practice has discovered how to embrace technology to provide world class treatment while hanging on to the classic friendly customer service that makes you feel good about making a trip to the dentist.

The person at the front desk (I think her name was Niki) was very helpful when I was filling out my forms and explained to me what was covered through my UofM grad student insurance, along with other logistics related things. I'm usually not good with paperwork, so her help was very much appreciated! After the initial examination, I learned that I had a filling that came loose and some minor gingivitis (which was expected since my teeth have been bothering me for a while now), and Dr. Ma explained her treatment plan for me in a way that I could actually understand. I should mention that I usually get very anxious when it comes to dentists, but Dr. Ma's gentle approach helped alleviate some of that anxiety. Oh yeah, and the hygienist was super thorough. Like, it felt like she got to parts of my mouth that I didn't even know existed. Quick Edit: my boyfriend recently went to Choice Dental after I pestered him about his dental health situation. Little researcher that she is, she found Dr. Choi at Choice Dental, which is on South Main just across from the stadium in that office building with the parking underneath. Not only is the office pleasant and the staff very friendly and competant, but the service is just outstanding. Everytime I'd turn around, he'd have something new and techy, from the tiny camera he used to take pics of my teeth so I could see what was going on to the program he used to show my how my teeth were going to move. Better yet, when I went for my cleaning, the DENTIST did the whole cleaning. Not a 2 minute consult. The WHOLE cleaning. Long story short, this dentist will make you feel like you're back in time, with a dentist who's good at what he does and actually gives a damn about you. Old school.
