This place is a great example of the locally-owned stores that give Tucson its character. You can get all sorts of card games (MtG, Pokemon, Vanguard, Kaijudo, Yu Gi Oh!, Lot5R, etc), board games, miniatures, etc. They host several leagues and play days and it is actually a really fun store to just go in, buy a deck of your card game of choice and sit down and pick up some games on the weekends. Also, unlike other stores I haven't felt I get stares or rude demeanors from the owners or other gamers for being a girl. It's the little things! read more

Great staff they will drop everything to help a customer. Good prices. You can always find a pick up game going on in the back. FMN ALWAYS happens and mid week booster drafts if you cant make it on friday. Check out their twitter and face book for updates. They have also donated cards to the Palo Verde High School mtg club on several occasions. They feel more like a community hub, than just a store. They also purchase cards and you might be able to find someone in the back looking to trade. Really neat store with a plethora of different card games and tabletop games to check out and play in the adjoining room where you'll find nifty murals and games going on periodically. As an aficionado of collecting different cards and playing tabletop rpg's i can see myself back here for their D&D beholder set and maybe to play a few draft MTG tournaments. read more

What a great place! I've driven past here several times but had never stopped in until recently. It's a bit on the smaller side but they do still have a decent selection of games and they hold tournaments every weekend. The staff are friendly and helpful-- good customer service is always appreciated! :-D Here's the great part-- The back part of the store has been set aside for people to come in and play games-- for free! How cool is that! They have long tables perfect for setting up and playing all kinds of games. This one of my new favorite places in town. Great store! The staff is nice and approachable. They explain games in simple easy to understand ways and are able to find just about any card you could want for mtg. The pricing is fair and they give good value on trades. My boyfriend and I stopped by this place when we were planning on moving to tucson. The staff was so great on our first visit that we decided to make this store our home store when we moved to the area. They offer great tournaments and edh on Sundays for mtg players. They are the only store who offers Pokemon in Tucson, and while the atmosphere can be a bit intimidating at first everyone is really nice for the most part. There is no other store in the area that really works to be a safe space and inclusive of everyone. We continue to frequent it for that very reason. read more

The staff varies from good at their job to good at their job and friendly. The only problem i ever had was with someone who had just started working there and had some trouble with the computer. Their stock is lacking in old booster packs, but I haven't seen them run out of any singles, and they are at reasonable, but not the best, prices. You will want to get commons and uncommons online, but that is more because you need to find them in the back yourself than the price. The events are where amazing truly shines. No matter when you go, it always seems that there is something going on. I personally avoid competitive play, but even then, there are two events that I go to there each week. read more

I ordered a sealed MTG product from them. They then claimed to have oversold the item and refund my order. Then they suddenly have each of the cards within that sealed product listed for sale individually at a substantially higher price than the price I had paid for the sealed item. I suggested they send me just the opened cards and they refused. I truly think this is the worst sort of way to do business. Perhaps they are better in person than online. read more

Amazing Discoveries is easily the best Magic the Gathering shop in Tucson and probably the best store in the state. They have great price support, they care about their players, and they run exceptional tournaments. All of this centers around a helpful and knowledgeable staff lead by Pro Tour finalist Dusty Ochoa. This is the only store in Tucson that I believe covers every facet of gaming. Not only different genres of gaming, but also gaming for all ages. From children as young as four playing Pokemon with there parents, to the hardcore Magic: The Gathering players, to casual older miniature war gamers, the store has it all. AD is one of the best game shops in tucson with a varying range of product. Board games, pokemon, mtg and minis. Very high level of play when it comes to magic so just be wary if you are a casual player. Staff is helpful and friendly, and I appreciate that they know my name. read more

This store has everything. If you want board games, they got em. You want table top games? Same place. Did you want Magic cards? Man, do they have Magic cards. The store is absolutely huge, able to handle multiple different tournaments of games going on at the same time, and it still manages to look open, be clean, and inviting. Come in to just hang out and learn from other players, or get in on some of the higher level tournaments in the Magic pro scene. This should be your only stop for gaming in Tucson. read more

This place has it all: a large backstock of trading cards for various games (and by large, I mean a whole shelf covering a backwall piled to the ceiling), a huge back room with tables and chairs to play, a nicely stocked counter with gaming accessories (sleeves, dice, deck boxes, etc) and a current supply of trading card boosters (as well as some older ones). I wouldn't say it is the best shop there is, but as far as Arizona goes it wouldn't suprise me if this is the biggest one! This place also covers your board games too, not just trading card games. I love to go down there once every few months and go through their huge backstock to find hidden gems. It does take a little bit of time though so if you have a couple hours to burn I couldn't think of a better place to go! read more

I wanted to order some bulk cards, and while other shops made me jump through hoops and made everything extremely time consuming, difficult, and expensive, Amazing Discoveries helped me skip all the complexities and even gave me a huge discount. I hadn't been in this store in years. The last time I was there I did not enjoy the place so I was pleasantly surprised to find that things had changed. I was able to place an order for magic singles online and pick them up later. I did so and they were packaged and waiting for me when I arrived. I decided to grab a few more singles while I was there and the staff located all of them and packaged them nicely for me. They were also incredibly helpful with any questions I had regarding the rest of the merchandise. The most surprising thing was their singles prices. In the past they were not competitive with big names like card kingdom or channel fireball but everything I have been looking for lately, they had all the best prices for. Some cards were several dollars cheaper than their competitors. All and all I would recommend this shop to anyone looking to play magic or any other card/tabletop games. read more
