My friend and I came in here briefly to see if they had a specific item (they did not, but thats ok). The person helping us out was really nice and told us when we could check back to see if the item was in stock. I also walked around for a few minutes. There was a special buy one get one 50% off sale going on which seemed like a good deal. I didn't have a lot of time to browse though, so I did not take advantage of that sale. What a surprisingly large, two-story BN here in Tucson. I was weirdly surprised by how small the Harry Potter section/supplies were. Maybe interest is waning. Anyways, I stopped in for a journal and found a beautiful blue leather lined journal with a fleur-de-lis on the cover. Then I stumbled across a "part-time" adult daily planner that was undated. Normally I wouldn't go for undated but this one spoke to me. The store is laid out really well and is very spacious. I appreciated the small Hanukkah display that was available. This is where things went a little sideways for me as I looked at the items on display. Two parties have a responsibility here, the buyer, Barnes & Noble, and the supplier, Paper Source. I'm so confused as to why either party believed an ornament was appropriate here. For what? We don't have anything or celebrate for which we would use an ornament. A Hanukkah bush is not a thing. The other thing that confused me was the with challah. Such weird items for Hanukkah. There isn't nor should there be an equivalent for every Christmas item to Hanukkah. They are not the same thing and there is no equivalence. Other than these weird Hanukkah items, if I were in the area again and needed to come back to BN, I would definitely stop in here. And per contract/usual, there was a decent sized Sbux cafe inside the store. One which I will never visit since I do not give my business to Sbux. read more

All the monthly book club reads were announced on a chalk board as you walk in, and I was greeted with a welcome as I walked in the door! This place is huge!! We stopped here after a late lunch as my DIL was looking for a book that just came out. She found it here. Walking into this place brought me back to the 1990s, when I would take my two young children to either B&N or Borders for cheap family time looking over books and then drinking cocoa in the cafe. We found five books and sat in the cafe as I sipped on a white chocolate mocha. Decadent. My only complaint was that there were only two AC outlets in the cafe and my phone needed charging. Service in both the book section and cafe were excellent. read more

So happy this location is still open with all the construction that is happening! We recently started attending the story time on Wednesdays! This is such a nice indoor free summer activity for littles. Each week there is a different theme. So far we've attended a dragon theme and high contrast book theme which was very inclusive for the babies in attendance. Each week they have coloring pages and crayons after story time and one week they had small treats from the Starbucks downstairs. The staff is always very friendly! Four stars due to the fact that the escalator that goes up has been broken for quite some time now. You have to take the elevator to get upstairs. Hopefully they are able to fix it soon! read more

They host a story hour Wednesdays and Saturdays. It's been on our regular rotation this summer, as it's too hot to do much outdoors. I reserved two books online and received an alert that they were ready for pick up. I went to the location, entered the location and it was pretty desolate. I scanned the open area for the restroom and found it off to the left of the register. It was filthy and unkempt, things floating in toilets and what not. I know, a book store, not a big deal but if not that, then what? My books were indeed ready and I paid, no problem and left. There's a coffee shop and cute seating area inside, I just happened to notice as I was paying. I didn't browse the store either but it's pretty big. read more

This is a pretty big Barnes and Noble, it has two stories and a cafe with a lot of space for tables. Other than those two features, it's your typical B&N. I wish Barnes and Noble would drop Starbucks and pick-up something more unique and interesting. Plus it causes a lot of confusion, I don't know how many times at different Barnes and Noble cafes I've heard the barista say, 'we don't accept Starbucks cards, we aren't a Starbucks, we only serve Starbucks coffee.' Cashiers and baristas have always been friendly here. Unfortunately, it's tied to a mall that is pretty much a ghost town. So it makes me wonder how much longer it will be in this spot. I try and give the store some business here and there, but it just feels so weird with all of these covid restrictions. This store is huge! Two floors of goodies to look at, touch and purchase. I literally take an hour to enjoy everything they have at this store. What I love is that they are so large that your sure find what you're looking for here. I've been to other stores and not find what I wanted but here, never disappointed. They have children's books and toys, lots of autographed books, vinyl records, music, movies ,gifts for all occasions and since it's the Holiday season, lots of stocking stuffers . Sure, I gave this store 3 stars because it's well stocked but it is in an older mall and it has a bit of a musty smell from the ventilation when you come in through the Mall entrance. My other half and I have the membership so we go th Barnes and Noble often and we'll be back here. Especially since my guy has his wishlist with a few books from here. read more

For some reason, this bookstore thought the appropriate response to the pandemic is to close their restrooms. I walked in the store desperately needing to pee, and when I asked an employee if she knew of any restrooms nearby in the area I could use, she just looked away. This is the biggest Barnes and Nobles ever! Awesome selection of everything except Gardening magazine, which I only found one of. Oddly it was a marihuana gardening magazine. @__@ Anyway, helpful people abound, and the music isn't overbearing or hideous, like the one in Las Vegas. There is a Starbucks, with a lot of tables, and the usual snack selections. Worth the extra drive to me. Hopefully next time we will be able to stay longer. read more

This Barnes and Noble location is super huge! Two stories high, it's one of the nicest B&N locations I have ever encountered. Too bad its part of that crappy Foothills Mall, which is in dire need of revitalization. There are a plethora of books, movies, toys, and collectibles here. In fact, you would be hard pressed to not find anything worth buying here. The cafe is much bigger than most others I have visited. It was an excellent place to review books in order to choose what to buy. Super spacious, and filled with people during the weekday evening. I enjoyed coming here, and will make a point to visit it again if I am in the area. read more

I love bookstores and this Barnes & Noble is in a nice location just off the I-10 and Ina Road. The only oddity is they're in the Foothills Malls, which I have already explained has a odd ball setup. It's an Outlet Mall with very few Outlets and a shopping Mall with no retail anchors. Go figure. We came here yesterday and stayed for almost an hour. The book choices were tremendous, since it's one of the largest bookstores in Tucson. Yes, we've visited most of the others. LOL As with a typical B&N operation, the Starbucks coffee are was taken up with mostly laptops along the walls area. It is well staffed and the employees were very helpful when searching for a few of our items. Another plus is their CD, DVD and Entertainment section, which has a large selection of 30% off old network and HBO TV shows. read more

Matthew very patiently assisted me on my scavenger hunt for several random mystery novels for different authors. He took it in stride, and was up to the challenge! He was very courteous, patient, friendly and engaging, sincerely trying to find each book I sought. He helped me order 2 that were not in store. With the ecommerce putting brick and mortar businesses out of business, I hope this big box book store stays around. I've been shopping at this Barnes and Noble since when I was living on the NW side of Tucson almost 13 years ago and even though I live in Los Angeles now, I still come back to this location when I'm in town once a year to watch a football game. I'm glad that every year I'm there B&N has their 50% Criterion movie sale so I never leave that store empty handed. One of the main draws about this place is wonderful ambiance of the store. The inside is bright and inviting and the book shelves are not too high, giving you a feeling of openness especially since the ceilings are so high. It's a wonderful place to peruse the wide selection of books and really check out a title that's piqued your interest. If you're like me, you prefer browsing through a book of interest a little bit before making the purchase right there on the spot and aren't concerned with paying a little bit more to have that luxury. I definitely prefer doing that as opposed to buying from a soulless Internet only website and doing a blind buy. read more

This is my favorite location. I like how spacious it is and how there are many areas where you can sit and read. I've always have been helped when needed. The staff that help you find what you are looking for are also avid readers. So they are able to recommend many best sellers. The cafe is always full when I have gone. We really enjoyed this store. It is quite spacious with a large collection of books, magazines, gifts etc. The staff were very helpful. I had a list of books I wanted and they helped look them up and show me where to finds them. If they weren't in stock they would order them for us. For a "big box" (aka non-local) bookstore, in general Barnes and Noble is about as good as it gets. This store is quite large, with ample parking (as part of the overall mall parking lot). It includes a Starbucks with a small but decent cafe to sit. The second story includes a children's play area (with story times). It also includes the standard music/video's section, etc. There are plenty of chairs around to sit and read. This is a bit of a community hang out, so there are always folks around doing just that. My one complaint? The temperature. On a hot summer day, I look to go someplace cool to hang out. Unfortunately, in what's probably an effort to keep their electric bill down, it ends up feeling like about 80 degrees... definitely not some place I want to be hanging out over the summer. Barnes and Noble, if you happen to read this review, please turn down your AC to continue to attract folks over the summer. read more

I visit Barnes & Noble in almost every city where I have the pleasure of staying more than 2 or 3 days. This is one of the very few B & N stores that didn't have plush chairs throughout the store to allow the customers to sit and read. The ONLY chairs on the first floor were in the cafe section. There were about 4 garden and 2 wooden chairs on the 2nd floor that looked as if they had been randomly pulled to the open window area. There were also a 4 hard benches in the magazine area and another one near the science fiction area. People were literally sitting on the floor reading. SMH..... This is a REALLY large B&N. This store would have easily received a 5-star rating with the inclusion of some comfortable chairs throughout the store. There is clearly more than enough room to include them. read more

Not only did I find everything I was looking for, I was also helped by some of the nicest people! When I went back into the music/movie area, a wonderfully knowledgeable man was able to locate a move for me...I was able to give his the director's name and the premise of the movie, and he knew the movie immediately...we began to discuss the director's other works and his use of the colour 'red', etc. I learned SO much from him and look forward on continuing my 'adventure' with this director using this man's wealth of knowledge! Pretty nice Barnes and Noble. It is two stories, clean, and fairly quiet. Large kids section on the upper level out of the way which is nice for kid-free people like myself. Only complaint about the bookstore is the lack of seating. There is tons of open space upstairs that is being wasted. This is a problem on weekends when the store is very busy often making it hard to find a place to sit down. There is a Starbucks inside of course. Lots of tables here and free Wifi. Only downside is there are only two plugs for computers in the cafe. If you are planning to set up camp here bring an extension cord or a full charged battery. Seating can be hard to find on weekends in the cafe as well. read more

The best Barnes & Noble I've ever been to, and that's saying a lot because I've been to many. I used to come here weekly, and I have super fond memories of discovering some great books when I chanced upon them on one of the display tables or while browsing the crazy huge amounts of books for sale. I can't even tally up how much money I've spent over the years on cafe drinks and pastries alone, even when I was a poor minimum-wage earning student. Most of the B&Ns I've been to are one-story, but not this one. No, this is a two-story beauty, complete with escalators and an elevator. One word of warning: a lot, and I mean a LOT, of middle school/high school kids hang out here. It doesn't bother me, but if you're the type that doesn't like kids and wants it to be quiet, dammit, perhaps you should go elsewhere. I mean, this IS located in suburban Tucson, where else are teens supposed to go past 7 at night? If you have the choice between this one and the one on Broadway, definitely go here. (The one on Broadway is kind of unfriendly and doesn't have the vibe or the selection.) read more

I used to go to B&N all the time when it first opened all the way up until I moved to Phoenix. It's still the nice, clean, quiet, and cozy bookstore I remember. Their sales are good and I was impressed to see their wide selection of board games now that they did not have before. Not just toy store games either, a lot of more advanced, obscure, and more sophisticated designer games. We found some sketchbooks on sale and my wife picked up some collectors edition classics including a hardback H.P. Lovecraft anthology. Of all the bookstores you could possibly go to, I can honestly say that this particular location has always been very pleasant to go to, and in the seven years it's been since I last visited, I am glad that hasn't changed. read more
